Glad to see Iceland is back:steamhappy:
seamus.d.fraser 17 Jul, 2021 @ 8:50am
Is there a way to play the older version of the mod where skald cities have an extra great work slot?

Iceland needs the ability to add Banana Plantation Improvements to Tundra tiles.
ziojar 4 Jan, 2017 @ 12:56am
nice one

Slippery slimy BASTARD SCUM! Oh, this mod works fine, but what a conneiving evil cunt this fuck is to go against.
power meat 22 Jun, 2016 @ 3:20pm
i like the tundra/snow idea as well, also, is there a way to change the colours of the borders? its really hard to see them when you're zoomed out.
Whion 21 Jun, 2016 @ 5:32pm
Gotta agree with everyone on the tundra idea
Guy 31 May, 2016 @ 5:12pm
please make it so we can improve on snow and benefits to snow and tundra pls
Tnesniv Yørel 7 Nov, 2015 @ 1:31am
Can you add a little food/production bonus for cities settled on tundra/snow? On ynaemp maps and most importantly, Battle Royal MKII, the only tiles they can settle are those, and in real life they aren't doing bad up there. Idea: great writing works in cities on tundra/snow provide 3 food and 3 production.

am i the only one that likes playing small little civs with noone else to intervene?
stormydajones 16 Jul, 2015 @ 5:29pm
I love this civ!
hivernal 7 Jun, 2015 @ 4:19pm
Does this replace the citystate?
Lazar 25 Dec, 2014 @ 4:09am
:) thanks
Deads 21 Nov, 2014 @ 3:09pm
When I use the Civ IV traits with this, no traits are displayed on my end.
Darri Dynamite 15 Nov, 2014 @ 5:49pm
@JFD oh ok thanks for replying but you mixed up the J and Y in Reykjavík. ps loving the mod
JFD  [author] 15 Nov, 2014 @ 3:32pm
@Darri Dynamite Yeah, I know. The game doesn't support the Þ letter. However, I didn't realise that the closest thing in the English alphabet is th, so I will be changing them to reflect that in the next update.
Darri Dynamite 15 Nov, 2014 @ 3:24pm
Some of the Cities are spelled wrong or use foreign letters :
Reykjavík
Þingvellir
Flókadallur
Vatnafjörður
Húsavík
Reyðarfjall

also the coloures sort of blend in with some of the tiles but i like the colour scheme
swjagatai 16 Oct, 2014 @ 9:23pm
I get an odd error when I try to add this civ, it shows up as "TXT_KEY_CIVILIZATION_ICELAND_INGOLFR", or something really similar to that, does anyone know why this happens? I have seen it happen before with a couple of other civs too, but I'd really like to have Iceland working right.
Fenragon 5 Oct, 2014 @ 1:00am
@Thedaniel4999 if I am not mistaken, JFD is currently working on other civs, but there is a well-rounded Austria-Hungary on the workshop already. =3

On the mod: I absolutely love it, their color scheme is pleasing and original. What I actually like most is how seamless this mod works with Events and Decisions and ynaemp. I also love skalds.
Always be yourself, unless you can be a skald, always be a skald.
Insurgent 4 Oct, 2014 @ 6:14am
I dont know if this is the place for suggestions or not, but perhaps a mod that creates Austria-Hungary as a civ.
Calphoon 1 Oct, 2014 @ 10:17am
Iceland is a bit overpowered and Iceland was never famous for Great works in history. England produce more famous work then they had and other civ's.
sindrismara 30 Sep, 2014 @ 2:05pm
Ok people, Iceland at the time had Greenland, The Faroe islands and north america (exept for the natives on the west coast). Also Iceland is bigger than Denmark (excluding greenland and Faroe islands). So stop hating, heck Iceland is even bigger than all these countries: Hungary, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and so on.

Also the vikings that lived in Iceland where whimps. They stopped settling in the americas because of the natives, but nobody is judging them becouse they did not have good veapons. You see that the vikings you hear about in storys did not come from Iceland, if they existed the would have been from Denmark, Sweden or Norway
Orang 30 Sep, 2014 @ 11:21am
Please, the DDR under Walter Ulbricht :P On Friday is "Tag der deutschen Einheit" ( Day of german Unity). It would be so apposite :D

Great Mods :D
ARYO 30 Sep, 2014 @ 5:20am
I could have SWORN that iceland would have been a military focused civ, seeing as though it's birth was due to the settling of vikings, but who am i to judge. other than that, great mod. MAKE MORE, I WANT MOOOOOOOOOOOOORE :P
Spoony Bard 29 Sep, 2014 @ 4:01pm
Seems like a good civ for a piety culture victory, if you can generate enough faith/culture.
P.C. Tacitus 28 Sep, 2014 @ 5:03pm
I don't like that the Thingstead has anything to do with the capitol, this seems much too centralized for arguably the most limited and decentralized nation state in all of history; the icelandic commonwealth was so hands off it is often reffered to as 'anarchic' so why does the special building not reflect the independance of the icelandic cities?
dogtrash 28 Sep, 2014 @ 1:57pm
Almost looks like jesse from breaking bad
Jimli 28 Sep, 2014 @ 1:06pm
Just a question does "Winning" a naval battle mean sinking a ship, or is it earning exp? Great mod, also really fun to play on a TSL map.
Tutter10 28 Sep, 2014 @ 11:20am
Really good. Never thought of an Iceland MOD. Since you seem to do alot of European Civs, have you thought of doing Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania or Bosnia. Also, there are no real Ukrainian Civs.
Sardonic 28 Sep, 2014 @ 9:34am
No EVE Online wonder?
Hollywog 28 Sep, 2014 @ 9:18am
threre already is one Anton... its in the base game. Unless you are trying to say AusTRALian, in which case I agree
DerZöscher 28 Sep, 2014 @ 9:14am
I think it would be nice to have an Austrian Civlisation
Mikeadon 28 Sep, 2014 @ 5:30am
one problem: iceland needs to be more balanced

I'm part Icelandic myself and I haven't seen any civilization with Iceland as a choice so thanks for making this mod.
VRILPUNK 27 Sep, 2014 @ 10:28pm
Perhaps If I were to help with research and info?
ungabungoid 27 Sep, 2014 @ 9:36pm
If you're open to suggestions, perhaps you can make a Uzbekistan Civilization? I feel this would be an interesting civilization to play as.

Love your mods, JFD, keep up the great work!

@TheAstronomicon, AlignedName52, Marquis de Montmatre, Þór

Thanks for all the positive comments. Really appreciated :)

@Marquis de Montmatre I haven't considerd an Akusmite civ, as ancient civs aren't really in my field of interest or expertise.
Miath 27 Sep, 2014 @ 7:38pm
Excellent work as usual JFD, look forward to using it.
VRILPUNK 27 Sep, 2014 @ 6:59pm
Hey there! again, some really nice work. Looking forward to some of the new ones your planning, but I got another suggestion for a civ. Have you considered maybe Axum/Aksum? Its an ancient predecesor to Ethiopia and during Rome's time was considered the Forth world power, the other three being Rome, Persia, and China. Definitely worth its own mod I think.
kabiblz 27 Sep, 2014 @ 6:09pm
Nice work @JFD.. Keep it up. How about doing some african country? :melon:
Sir Charles Dewitt 27 Sep, 2014 @ 5:50pm

JFD  [author] 27 Sep, 2014 @ 3:32pm
@tyboy05 Terrible because you don't agree with the civ? Wow.

Lofthæna Guðmundsdóttir 27 Sep, 2014 @ 1:06pm
should've been Jón Sigurðsson as a leader though.
