have you considered being a game designer?
Hey, I have a question, I was thinking of making a custom perk meant to suit this playstyle. The idea I have is that the perk effect will be such that when I kill an opponent with whatever the bloodskal blade ranged energy blast counts as, WHILST I'm wielding a greatsword, I'll get a some temporary bonuses. Thus, it will insentience me to create this interesting play style where I blast enemies form afar with the sword. However, what exaclty should the conidition for this be? Does the energy blast of the sword count as spells? If I set it so that I get a bonus for killing foes with my spells, WHILST I'm also wielding a greatsword(thus meaning that killing enemies with normal spells won't have this effect, since the greatsword condition won't be met), would that have the intended effect when using the Bloodskal Blade?

Now it wont shoot energy or put up a ward, @Arrow Albert your method is not working for me either
I can confirm that putting the Bloodskal Blade on a weapon plaque and taking it back (even without exiting the cell) will fix the problem.
I used the Markarth house
Note: This could still be a problem for those who want to finish the quest without cheating
If you find a fix then I'd really appreciate it because I loved the idea of the Bloodskal Blade but it wasn't really cutting it in the game and I know how good your mods are.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod (at that point I was using Nexus), then when that didn't work I tried switching from Nexus to Steam but the problem was still exactly the same.
I deleted the mod entirely and reinstalled again but nothing changed.
I haven't tried the display case fix (the comment below) and I can't because I don't have a house in this save.
The only problem seems to be the energy blasts, the other damage enchantment seems to be working fine and the ward goes up when I block, but whatever I do the blade won't shoot energy blasts when I use power attacks.
P.S. Zim all of your mods run amazingly and make me feel that all of the items are much more balanced

Not that this is bad but... What exactly is the problem?
Not sure if you know this, but its really funny. At first it was bad, i put the Bloodskaal set on mannequin in Severin manor, together with the Deathbrand set on the same mannequin. WHen i came back, the Bloodskaal helmet was gone. I reloaded a last save and did everything i did in three hours again, this time, put the entire Bloodskaal set and Deathbrand set on seperate mannequins. And the helmet doesn't disappear, all is good
