Updated. :crusader_helmet:

@Muscarine

I could probably give them a Garru [kenshi.fandom.com] to act as a pack animal, which can also aid them in attacks...

I gave the "Solo" groups a 100% chance for a Bonedog to spawn (default behavior), but the roaming bands with multiple Menders get a random dice roll to spawn a bonedog (not sure the exact % breakdown, it's either 0/1 lol).

The Solos have a dice roll to spawn a "Pack Garru", while groups spawn a Pack Garru with a lamp. :2017stickycrab:

I could probably also add a bit more stuff they can sell, but I'll have to look at it more to see what "fits" in their shops. They already have the basics like some food / sake, medical stuff, etc. :cactusrum:
Muscarine 11. okt. 2024 kl. 8:08
Too bad there's not really a good herbivore alternative to Bonedogs
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [ophavsmand] 11. okt. 2024 kl. 8:06
@Muscarine

Oh no lol, yeah I can see that being a problem. :cactusrum:

I'll take a look now and see if I can change the Bonedog spawn rates and update this mod.
Muscarine 11. okt. 2024 kl. 8:04
Appreciated, it's just that in my current run i have Menders Bonedogs wandering in cities beelining to prisons to eat the wounded prisoners
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [ophavsmand] 11. okt. 2024 kl. 7:58
@Muscarine

Sure I can take a look, I probably wouldn't outright remove them (since they use them for defense now against bandit attacks, etc. and I do want to keep the same original "style" of the faction), but I can probably reduce the Dog Spawn % or something so not as many Mender groups have the dogs roaming around too.
Muscarine 11. okt. 2024 kl. 6:50
Hey since you took some time to make a personal patch for this mod already, would you consider outright removing the Bonedogs assigned to their spawns ?

As it stands the Menders go around looking for injured people, sure, but then their Bonedogs eat them

And they aren't a rare spawn so the result is actually worse than if there weren't random "healers" (not) wandering around

Not sure, this mod and the original Menders mod do not modify the HN, or any other faction besides the Menders.

UWE and Kaizo (like in the Roleplay Collection) do enable additional roaming patrols beyond the normal borders, if you're particularly interested in that.
Pyrrhus 15. apr. 2024 kl. 18:44
I didn't have UWE installed, maybe that was it. HN patrols were seen in those areas under original mender mod.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [ophavsmand] 12. apr. 2024 kl. 3:16
@Pyrrhus

This mod doesn't change anything with the Holy Nation patrols.
Pyrrhus 11. apr. 2024 kl. 13:05
What happen to no more roaming Holy Nation platoons marching around between Stack to Blister Hill, or west of Bad Teeth? But menders and bone dogs are all over. Looks like it needs adjustments.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [ophavsmand] 4. apr. 2024 kl. 4:34
in this mod* (not pack lol).

Although, it does play well with the Roleplaying collection, which has a bunch of other tweaks and such. :cactusrum:

@Thundercraft

Theoretically, the "Medic" (and Robotics for skeletons/prosthetics) is what determines healing speed. I reduced that as well in this mod pack to be roughly around ~40 (+/- randomizer). This should be sufficient to heal *some* people, but NPCs / You with more severe wounds might perish.

You can technically pair this with my Combat Tweaks (or a similar one which affects the same things, listed in the descriptions of that page) to further degrade Medic/Robotics to make it slower and more important to actually train.
Thundercraft 3. apr. 2024 kl. 22:20
Q: Is there a way to nerf how rapidly these Menders heal?

I ask because there are comments in the original mod claiming that its just too OP because it heals enemies even faster than they can die, thus battles can go on and on, never seeming to end. This is why I decided to skip the Menders mod.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [ophavsmand] 29. mar. 2024 kl. 23:46
@Pyrrhus

Exactly lol. The medics previously were some of the highest stat NPCs roaming around (besides areas like the Ashlands ).

They were also allied/co-existed with everyone, which further made them OP :steamsad:

@PringlesMachoMan

It doesn't necessarily require UWE, as the requirements only come from giving them relationship to some of the UWE factions.

You can probably use the Wandering Medics (but less broken) version by NeonAura.It also shouldn't necessarily need a Reactive World patch, as RW is mostly for World States (ie. when you take out a leader of X faction, Y happens) :cactusrum:
PringlesMachoMan 29. mar. 2024 kl. 19:34
Also, if it's even necessary, I'd appreciate a version for Reactive world.
Pyrrhus 29. mar. 2024 kl. 19:29
Picked up locked shackles from ground after bone dog ate a dead slave and put on one of wander medics at Stack, watched Holy Nation squealing like geese as they got wiped out by several groups of overly powerful wander medics. Even Seta got knocked down and lost a limb, made it too easy for player. I'm gonna install this, thanks.
PringlesMachoMan 29. mar. 2024 kl. 19:28
Does this outright require UWE?

I have so many encounters where I'm in the dirt, bleeding out, after escaping Rebirth and all of a sudden some random Mender dudes show up when I'm seconds from death.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [ophavsmand] 27. mar. 2024 kl. 21:35
@BreakUrSelf

This is an awesome story haha

I play very similarly (Ironman) with a low amount of people overall, like 5-10 total. This sounds like stuff that the "Roleplay" collection was designed to try and invoke lol

Glad you made it out and didn't have to restart, and I'm glad the whole "menders getting themselves beaten up and you saving them" concept I tried to address actually works now haha :cactusrum:
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [ophavsmand] 27. mar. 2024 kl. 21:32
@Neededlotus5

It was mostly because the original mod had like 100 relations (allied) and coexist (non-aggression) to pretty much *all* factions, including things like "Gutters" lol (animal factions for like Beak Things)

I tried to go for a semi-balanced version where they only co-exist with like Drifters, Holy Nation Outlaws, etc. and relations at a range of 15-30 for various different factions so there can be relations drift if random people decide to attack them (changes over time).

Theoretically, this means they should behave more "natural" over your playthrough and might even get into fights against hostile factions like bandits who might attack them. :cactusrum:

Story continues here >
After 10 mins or so I was kinda sleepy and didn't notice huuuuge "alpha" skimmer was rushing towards my hungry one armed hobo. Ofc I got downed very easily and he started to eat me, all remaining limbs are gone and I went; "oh well, crap, time for new game" and was really sad watching my character eaten alive since I already got attached to him and played for a few hours. All of the sudden, the beaten up menders squad I helped showed up! Managed to kill of the beast and save me when I had only few drops of blood left in my body. They patched me up and left. Somehow I woke up and managed to loot the skimmers body and finish it off before it had 2 seconds left before recovering! I then crawled back to the city and resting in a cage right now, doing some time due to a stolen foodcube on my way in. SHIT like this is why this game is so awesome. Thanks for making it even better!
BreakUrSelf 27. mar. 2024 kl. 21:00
Oh man, I just wanted to say thanks again. Played with this mod and your "Hub relations fix" for 10+ hours now and it just feels right. I also had a "oh shit, not again moment" (I play ironman and if my main character dies, it's save delete). Was running in the desert after custom Rock bottom start, things were ok, looted some random dudes, then skimmers attacked menders squad and it was a toguh battle (not a cake anymore, thanks to this mod), I decided to heal them up with my last healing supplies, used them all up.
neededlotus5 27. mar. 2024 kl. 19:46
hated the menders mod because they would be healing your enemies in the middle of the fight nerf that part
