Maybe if you hit an enemy with the ALT-fire then the victim and surrounding enemies will get scared for a few seconds like in the cp_harvest_event map if you go too close to the ghost.

Maybe have an effect where if the shield rush kills a guy, he explodes, doing damage to surrounding enemies?

It'd be interesting to have a shield oreinted at grenade launcher demoman. A shield that has less blast damage on self so you can run around in melee with a grenade launcher and caber? Hell yeah.

Instead of charging with alternate fire, maybe you could do a shield bash that can stun the target.
