The Steam workshop doesn't support mods for this game, you will have to download the .zip from the link in the description and extract the files into your game directory.

can the sicon command mod be found in the workshop or do i have to get it throuigh a zip

It's possible, I just did it! You need to have crazy reaction times to save enough troopers during the general retreat portion to be able to make a counteroffensive, but if you can make three good battle lines, it's doable - tough, but doable.

It is possible, you have to advance slowly and then rush in once it has been depleted.

Ok. Beating the main hive is impossible

Either lose all your units after the dropships leave or clear out the main hive.
