It is mostly the annoyance of needing a repair bay or manually replacing blocks after a minor scuffle with a couple flak turrets. Those carbon blocks were destroyed by aoe effect of flak hitting cockpit or steel nose. I upgraded nose underside to steel up to the front landing gear. Flak is easier to face tank but it is mostly moot anyway with all the other shield penetration.
Repair bay is the big part of the main RE2 gameplay loop now, isn't it?
