yeah using art for training data is not immoral no matter how you look at if if you're considering it objectively. of course people are free to not like ai art, but there is no actual crime or injustice being committed. the only time that is true is when bad actors use said AI for unlawful purposes. but training an AI with pictures you put up on the internet is fair game whether you like it or not. i also say this as an artist who's been drawing since i was in kindergarten.

i think people should focus more on the fact they don't like it rather than trying to falsely pin an actual crime to something that breaks no laws. i personally think AI generated art is very lazy and ugly, and will never measure up to even "bad" human artists--simply because there is no human attached to the actual creation--but i am not gonna pretend it's "stealing" content

This came up when I searched for some new story tellers, found a few good ones the 40k ones are the best. I also despise every picture made by ai , it is not a man-made thing so every ai can burn in hell where it belongs. ai just tricks the simple minded peoples into fake reality.

Sorry but I saw this thread and had to chime in: People who are so against AI art make me laugh. The number one complaint is that the AI was trained on a real person's artistic style. But they never seem to care that I, as an artist, went to art school and studied past artists styles. And now in my professional career I paint pictures inspired by these artists. There is literally zero difference.

Rude no as in instead of a just no, a no and a sermon.

@Legio asked for other storytellers as well, I would have to ask permission first. After thinking about it I gave up the idea, since this mod makes heavy use of AI which some artists are averse, with good reason. And I don't feel like taking a rude no as an answer even if it's small chance of this happening.

can you do ALL the other storytellers added by other mods in the same art style?

@d_valroth it wasn't a one time generation, I generated lots, mixed a few of them, painted a bit over and did inpainting on several parts, so it's a mix of what I kind of liked and what I had got until I got bored generating so much images

@ALE199 Fair enough, I kind of liked them and I wanted something different so I did it and I'm using them, I don't claim that they are better and it is pretty valid opinion if you think the original is better and I think so too

My problem is not the AI but I feel like the designs are iconic and timeless enough, this is like trying to re-invent the wheel, no matter what you do it will be worse

Interesting how it decided Randy needed a high collar while ignoring that Phoebe had one at all, while giving her a variation of Cassandra's shoulders.

Cass is fine but you could probably re-gen a better Phoeb and Randy.

Art lacks key defining features of the original characters. One could say it was a stylistic choice, but knowing and experimenting with AI generative works in the past, it is more likely due to the AI's limitations and overall sloppiness of the "work" put in. Not a fan of AI art, and this definitely reinforces it.
