I agree on the range on the torpedo-bombers. i just had little time to work on this one since i am focusing on finishing 1940 rework for PC1 and 44/45 content atm.

Glad to hear u like what u do. regarding ur frustration with this scenario, check ur destroyers, there should be some that can switch into air-def-mode.
And read how the actual fight went, that might help u out, too. :)

currently always a defeat is triggered, no matter the conditions. i´m investigating this but still not sure what´s causing this. thx for the info.
I think there is a bug at the very last turn, since I met all requirements (historical and a-historical), and the game finishes with a defeat???
die Entfernung des jägers zu seinem flugplatz/träger ist bei den neuen reichweiten sehr relevant. der abstand/die verbleibenden movepoints beeinflusst stark die initiative.
Wenn du "L" drückst, während du die kampfvorhersage aktiv hast geht ein fenster mit weiteren details zum kampf auf. dort kann man das recht gut sehen.
Aber die Reichweiten änderung der Flieger ist geil. Freue mich auf euer nächstes Update. Gruss und viel Erfolg und Spass:)
no, but i want to have naval components in the PC1 remake mod. i´m unhappy with the way it is handled atm and was hoping for pacific do some changes. now that it has been benched i decided to do it myself.
PC1 remake will get a ahistorical 1944 Sealion and a 1945+ operation Valkyrie, that obviously need some naval component.
i don´t think i will be able to make a 1 year conquer of the US plausible, so i guess it will be more than just 1 campaign, but that is still work in planning.
i will probs reduce firing range of torp bombers to 1 in the next update to prevent stuff like the land firing.
still investigating that defest screen. not sure what´s causing that.

Wie gaknabben bereits erwähnte, kam es zu einer Niederlage trotz Zielerreichung.
Ich habe die Flugzeugträger an der Midway-Küste positioniert. Die Torpedobomber näherten sich von der Landseite und feuerten ihre Torpedos aus dem Inneren des Landes ab (und trafen natürlich)..
Ein Bier mit Deinem Namen steht bei mir im Kühlschrank :-)

As gaknabben already mentioned, there was a defeat despite achieving the objective.
I positioned the aircraft carriers on the Midway coast. The torpedo bombers approached from the land side and fired their torpedoes from inland (and hit, of course).
I have a beer with your name on it in the fridge :-)

I can easily use sub/CA/DD as a bait to shot down all attck wave,
then torpedo bomber do thier job after clean the sky.
Maybe set US starting position at northeast edge?
And try to launch a surprise attack on JP carriers?
Their main target are JP carriers anyway,not screen.
For now,that`s all.
P.S:I think the main reason that CV battle is so hard to relive is that game mechanism.The plane will return to base at the beginning of all turns,so using enemy`s bilnd spot to take a surprise attack is almost impossible.
The OOD maybe closer to reality:CV planes will stay in hanger and need time to launch,also have fuel limit so it can make plane to outflank enemy and take some turns for a long range attack.
BUG:The fotress didn`t count after constructed.
And maybe add some JP landing forces and US guard unit to fight on the sand island?
DD should switch AA/ASW mode?
The 2 JP CVLs maybe move with 3 BBs (surface/ landing group) rather than CVs (carriers striking group/kidou butai)?
Enemy screen do nothing even my CA/DDs closing in and firing on their CVs or themselves.
They don`t fight back.
SS maybe closer to enemy at the beginning?
Enemy SS should not use surface mode (or maybe before spotted)?
So they will not take so many time to contact with enemy (both side)?
Impossible to shoot down all flying boat,so enemy still locate my force at any time.
reduce their defence?change/remove hero?

Nach Update mal als US gespielt, richtig Klasse - machte viel Spaß.
Alle Einheiten funktionieren perfekt, aber trotz aller erreichten Ziele- Niederlage nach Turn 30.

thx for the input. i did an update yesterday that corrected the torpbombers-switch.
the DDkagero will be in next update.
wenn english dir ärger macht, deutsch geht auch.
i think the errors in my play came from unit.csv:
in line 602 DDKagero: stats.attack.naval.passive must set from TRUE to FALSE. now the destroyer attacks Sea Targets
in line 313 B6N2torp: there is a diverent Service time to the BN5N2, i set both to the same year, now the switch works (and i set the movement to the same stats)

Not sure about ur issue with the destroyers. could u explain in more detail?
Neither the destroyers nor the bombers have a switch icon.
This is only available for the fighters and the cruisers.
I like your idea with the naval war and the scenario really has a lot of potential. I'm already looking forward to the first update for testing.

I have tried the Japanese site .
The Destroyer DD do not cause damage to ships, only the submarine hunters do that.
The torpedo bombers have a range of 0, but the US bombers have a range of 2 hexes..
When I sank the first US aircraft carrier, I lost the game.
