The only problem is the error.log, thank for planning to fix it. Most of the time my error.log comments do not get replies.

Duplicate localization key. Key 'child_personality.7020.d_success.desc' is defined in both 'localization/bi_beating_imprisonment_l_english.yml' and 'localization/bi_beating_imprisonment_l_english.yml'.

IMO, the beating event, if it happens to YOUR children, should create a Secret on one doing the beating, because of the risk of being imprisoned and executed for it. If it happens to YOU as a child, it should be a grounds for execution, imprisonment, or arrest, as in this Event.

If it happens to YOUR child or YOUR Ward, there should be a CHANCE that the child tells, depending on his Traits (e.g. Honest, Vengeful, and Brave children). Also, I think it would be cool to try and shadow the child to see who did it, and maybe even torture someone you think did it.

Even crazier, Sadistic AND Deceitful children could frame innocent people...

The "beating" event is such a degenerate thing in general. It can happen to your children as well, and they'll always refuse to tell who it was, even though, as a king, I have power to skin alive anybody who did that to my heir and I would if they just told me the name (after ensuring that this person actually did it).

And where are the guards on a king's heir/young king themself? It's especially dumb because your direct vassals are doing this to you. Like, they probably should know better, no? Some self-preservation instinct, perhaps?

I also wish there was an imprisonment reason for when your tutor breaks your favorite toy and laughs at you while doing it. Because this is also something definitely worth torturing for

Hating unions is the single dumbest political position that anyone could hold. A union is the only way that workers are able to stand up to corporations and negotiate on equal footing. Everyone should be paid more. Everyone should work less. Everyone should join a union. Death to corporate executives and death to capitalism.

Unionized laborers are parasites that are paid more to work less. When you learn that Paradox's writers are unionized, you instantly understand everything.

Most of Paradox dlc ideas were ripoffs from forums or mods anyway lol

great mod. there's a lot of instances where our rulers should be able to justifiably punish somebody for something.

@Epto, check out Better Executions. Has like 20 options -- burn to death, crucify, impale, boil alive, flay to death, etc -- all with different sounds (e.g., hammer pounding in nails on crucify).

...this is legitimately the fastest I've actually gone from "hmm, maybe I'll look" to "well, okay, full triple buttons and on we go."

Now to find a mod with more execution options

This is a cool mod! This event really is unfair since it just forces a bad trait onto you and means you suffer with no way to repay them. It makes sense that a young king could punish someone who hits you with a club

@TurtleShroom yeah. unfortunately, individual event overrides aren't supported in ck3, as they lead to lots of weirdness / crashes / etc.

Man, I wish that this didn't overwrite the entire file.

@kalanyr Yeah, I had considered the inconsistency this has with the other childhood events. All the other events though, only have 3 options. So even if it did apply a trait, it would still be inconsistent.

Ultimately, the odds of this event occuring multiple times in a row is quite low, and the game's reliable in generating another childhood event afterwards, so it'd be rare for you to come out of childhood with only two traits.

Finally! Is there any way this can be applied if someone beats up my kids as well?

Because this is a personality event the new decision should probably grant a trait and block the event if you have it (otherwise this event recurring too much could result in you not having 3 traits by adulthood)

I'm not sure what an appropriate trait is here though (Vengeful or Wrathful seem like obvious choices ? Maybe Humble (willing to ask for help from others). Just could maybe work for this outcome but you'd probably have to tinker with the current description a bit. )
