I think it's still pretty great in singleplayer, but multiplayer can't really be used right now.
Most of it's functional, but that bug with the hologram block makes building a lot more annoying than it should be.

How is the progress going with this test build, is it still being updated? I see the last update was March 3 a few months ago?

I've tried this with my friends, and they are having one big issue that's keeping us from using this (This is on a client-hosted server, so I loaded a world in Space Engineers that was open to friends): When they go to place a block, the mod creates a ghost copy of it that sticks wherever they pulled the block out, but goes away when they stop trying to place blocks.

So, the ghost appears when they select a block in their hotbar, stays where it appears, and disappears when they deselect the block.

No, turn it off for yourself if you find it annoying and let everyone else have their own choices :P

I'll probably add textAPI menu support to this so they can edit the config ingame, but that's something for the finishing touches.

are you going to add a server / host side option to shut off the cable? or maybe that exists already? anyway i hate that thing its annoying and i'd like to shut it off if its not too much trouble to add the setting.

I'm using it on that new water world save, which I think is by default open to multiplayer.
All I did was access the terminal of a few things. I think the first time might have been alright, at least for a few seconds, but subsequent ones were definitely broken.

Maybe it's just more jarring since it's still got the weird buggy arm spasm thing, and it will be better when you just pull the screen up and keep it there. Or are you talking about accessing the terminal while in a cryopod? This was happening the moment I stepped in to one.

I know about the collision being kinda bad, it's more of a polish thing so I can improve that when I get to it.
Right now it's just raycasts towards velocity vector along some points on the cable (5 IIRC), far from perfect =) I could increase the raycast count... but even then it can be forced into blocks.

For cryopod the issue is the hands stick out of it when animating towards looking at the screen, but the fact that you can look at the screen isn't really an issue, the cryo is not really activated until you leave the game (no conciousness xD)

I'm having an issue trying this out, where animations will repeat themselves several times, before completely breaking at least the cable animation (Which also seems to sag down through blocks, despite the apparent collision detection?).
Also, the interaction animation plays while in a cryopod, for whatever reason.

I haven't got to fix the issues in this but most of them I'm not even aware of, like that "don't have side movement, just forward".

Right now I updated it to fix the compile errors so it can be used, also fixed the invisible cable entities.

Are the features from this going to eventually make their way to the main mod? I love that hand-projection thing, makes it feels much better.
I would love to see some animation for general cockpit stuff, like an accelerator or fiddling with the joysticks, so it looks like you're doing something in the cockpit.
Those animations are quite nice, too, though the component doesn't seem to show even when the animation plays.
This also has that old bug where you don't have side movement anymore, just forward. I also haven't found a situation where the cable will show, so I assume that's broken right now.

The drone sounds like it would make me feel a bit better about enabling third-person, especially if you can get some physics going and lead in to a proper Empyrion-style building drone! Still, we have normal ships for that, though still no remote block-placement beyond projections...

Hey digi, just woundering did you ever manage to fix the cockpit stand/point issuse that sometimes happeneds with this enabled - i know this is your test version, but i figured i would ask as if its fixed here i will use this and report anything else i find :) Thanks my friend. and Good work.

Hmm well it seems the left arm lcd is once again under the field of view again. I guess the other day was just a fluke of having the wrist lcd up high and watching the finger press buttons. Very disappointing that this is not working again.

Oh amazing we can see the left arm screen again while interacting with the menus. A welcome change! =) (I'm happy my suggestion was included because it's what helps makes this mod awesome)

Digi, Grate work man, nice to see this one getting some love, i will run this in SP and hit you up if i find any bugs, i always enjoy a good bug hunt :D ........ i helped saktan with his Stormtrooper bug replacements when he was making em :) was alot of fun. and we found alot of bugs... (none that needed fixing tho lol)

Please make an option for disabling the other players block preview. on MP its really buggy and building simply cannot be done. everything else is gud, maybe interaction when joining as a guest bit buggy
