Worked like a charm. Thank you very much.
I never even thought of that. Thanks very much for the suggestion, I'll try it tomorrow.
The direct download link of this mod in the description above is broken.
I can't imagine playing this game unmodded, let alone without this mod which I really like.
Could you please take the time and re-upload it? Steam screws up my mod downloading constantly.
Many, many thanks in advance.
Two words: Cheap Workboats

Their functions and encyclopedia are not changed.
I tried several times include your Alternate mod, but failed.
I really want to use this mod.
Could you give me a tip please?? Thank you.
@satdanov Yeah SMAC had ocean trenches though their yields weren't any different. I would very much like a Civ game where we the oceans were as detailed and involved in gameplay as the land. Call to Power also did this, though that was a civ clone. It still did a few cool things.
Why does this produce large quantities of food? To compensate they get +2 gold instead from Robotics, so oil is lucrative, as it should be.
Seemed right to me, until today, when I saw the report that "offshore oil rigs are, hands down, the most productive fisheries on the planet ".
See the SoylentNews summary [soylentnews.org] or the original article at ArsTechnica [arstechnica.com].
So yeah, you may want to rethink the rationale or rework the bonus (+1 food/+1 gold?) :)
P.S. Your mods are great, keep up the good work!
I hope everyone finds mods that make their game more fun for them. If you work up the nerve to learn to make them yourself, in your free time, and then post them for the public, more power to you.
The point is different people find different things fun. I don't care what score I get, or how many turns it takes me to win. If you do, good for you, go have fun with it. But I'm an old schooler; been playing Civ since I was 12 (CivNet). I care about building an empire, about smiting a neighbor because he dared to steal my land, etc -- about doing whatever it is I feel like doing.
What are the first two lines of this post? I missed something cool and fun from an old Civ game and I like my Civ to be as immersive as possible. I also wanted to see if I even could mod it into this game and it was a big learning curve at the time. I didn't know anything about modding improvements or art. I also spent many hours testing and trying to balance it as much as possible -- it is still probably somewhat OP. So what? Most mods are.
