yo ucan set it to 0.00001 manually i think
Hythlodaeus 17 Jun, 2024 @ 4:58am
Love the mod. would like if there's a possibility of making the % box one digit longer i.e from 0.0001% to 0.00001%. Appreciate the work you do!
KJW  [author] 11 May, 2024 @ 1:40am
no, that's intentional. patrol routes are very obvious
Sullivan 10 May, 2024 @ 4:52pm
Is it possible to get a setting for them to delete after a certain period? A unit patrolling the same route for a while develops a bit of a yellow brick road effect
KJW  [author] 6 May, 2024 @ 2:16pm
you are able to do that yourself with very simple code
MyBaconNotYours 6 May, 2024 @ 10:42am
@Hannibal @KJW Please! This would be so prime for more rural and Jungle environments. I could even see a compat with Immersion Cigs to leave butts around
Hannibal 30 Apr, 2024 @ 10:18pm
Is it possible to add like footprints, maybe bent branches and such? Its too easy to follow the bad guys with an item with a bright yellow circle on it. Would make it more challenging. Great idea, your other mods are also really amazing. Cheers.

maxsteps is a variable
T-Dog 28 Apr, 2024 @ 2:04am
@KJW where do i find "kjw_tracking_core_maxSteps"? in Addon Options I only have "kjw_tracking_core_Chance" and "kjw_tracking_core_doPlayers". Pls help :D

Incredible
JCE 21 Apr, 2024 @ 5:31pm
Alright, thank you
KJW  [author] 21 Apr, 2024 @ 4:30pm
again, set people in vehicles as an exception
JCE 21 Apr, 2024 @ 2:53pm
Question: Is there currently (or planed to be) a way to disable the leaving footprints when a player enters a vehicle? currently the footprints still display in mid air, about 3 or so feet above the ground.
KJW  [author] 21 Apr, 2024 @ 10:08am
changing texture is already doable with cba events, different colours not possible without having a bunch of different textures which i don't want to do
Bax 21 Apr, 2024 @ 6:53am
An Option to give them a different color. Right now they are pink (at least for me). Transparent white or light blue etc. to make them more difficult to spot, maybe with an option for the opacity level 0, 0.1 etc
Hannibal 20 Apr, 2024 @ 10:32pm
Extending the length of blood drops, also having it show up on say leaves ect. That would be an awesome add. Maybe discarded cigarettes, old camp fires. ect.
KJW  [author] 20 Apr, 2024 @ 2:38pm
@Miles Away -- set everyone else as exceptions
Miles Away 20 Apr, 2024 @ 2:37pm
Can this be restricted to a single player or a list of players? Or is coded as a universal ace action?
KJW  [author] 20 Apr, 2024 @ 11:48am
@thehungryhippo - ace interactions.
JohnTheMedic 20 Apr, 2024 @ 10:22am
i helped test this and its fucking amazing
thehungryhippo 20 Apr, 2024 @ 8:56am
Are you storing entire unit footsteps as they walk? A good idea would be you drop an item with a variable tied to unit, when action is selected, a pathfind is formed between current location of unit and player, then allowing you to display it for the player - my question, why need ace?
Combat 20 Apr, 2024 @ 3:07am
Cool, neat mod anyways

Tom Brown is atheAuthor of the Book 'The Tracker'. He runs a tracking school (that ive attended) and they even based a movie off of his life called The Hunted with Tommie Lee Jones and Benecio Del Torro. Its next level stuff.
KJW  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 8:29pm
who is tom brown
KJW  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 8:28pm
thanks tom brown
Froggyluv 19 Apr, 2024 @ 8:18pm
Tom Brown approved.

@combat
yes

no
Combat 19 Apr, 2024 @ 5:50pm
Oh wow I did not think it was possible. Congrats!
Is it MP/dedicated friendly?

Suggestion for consideration.
Perhaps instead of litter or at least more often than litter units could leave a trail of faint footprints for player to interact with and get more detailed track to pop up. Idealy with an option for custom color and density of imprints to be less immersion breaking or simply force players to slow down.

- There were 12 guerrillas. They took the two men from the helicopter, but there's something else. Six men wearing US-issued army boots.
KJW  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 8:53am
@Matekosh -- you can do this by flipping the KJW_Tracking_Core_Exception variable on and off on the unit for leaving footprints or not
Matekosh 19 Apr, 2024 @ 7:54am
Hi, I loved the idea of the mod! I have an idea that you might like.

It would be great if you could add a difficulty classes, e.g. civilians, conventional forces, special forces. Which will be harder to track depending on what class they are defined as.

For example, a civilian makes more mistakes when it comes to hiding their trail, unlike special forces which are trained to eliminate the slightest trace (Civilians leave trash and foot prints which can be traced at a high percentage, while special forces do not, they would only leave foot prints at a lower percentage of probability).
KJW  [author] 18 Apr, 2024 @ 5:36pm
However do note that changing it mid-mission may cause issues
KJW  [author] 18 Apr, 2024 @ 5:32pm
@Alex Mason - you can change the kjw_tracking_core_maxSteps variable to change the maximum number of steps a unit can have
Alex Mason 18 Apr, 2024 @ 5:27pm
is a good mod, did a test on it for anyone wondering and the way it works is that someone in a squad (AI) will drop items like forks, spoons, ect and you can ACE interact them and "track" them, it will show pink footprints going to there location no matter how far they are, hopefully in a future update it adds a CBA option to turn down how far it tracks?
jennderqueer 18 Apr, 2024 @ 5:25pm
you went from idea to published mod entirely while i was asleep you madman
Kepe Kon Kimmerman 18 Apr, 2024 @ 4:20pm
how does this work exactly?

Hannibal 18 Apr, 2024 @ 2:18pm
I really like this idea! Awesome stuff!
VBK0 18 Apr, 2024 @ 3:54am
Very cool concept! It would be nice if the tracking marks showed up on the map also.
