Ah! I never actually looked, but this mod changes the gender distribution of male and female. In the original males are supposed to be super rare.

So @Jordicat if you're okay with the males being neglected, you can just go into your mod's folder like so:
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\mods\3226625832
(something like this)
Open the Objects Folder, and creature_valkyrie.txt

In there, you should find the Female caste with a pop ratio of 1. By default it should be 299. Note that these changes will need a new world to properly appear. (The change might take effect on an existing world but only after the date it was implemented in game, not retroactively).

I seem to have a majority of male Erinyes, all of whom appear completely naked -- do you have any ideas what may have caused this? I suspect I goofed something up, maybe with the load order :P thanks for your time!

I don't know about any crashes, but I'm working on some patches for SEEU's mods that will fix a lot of equipment bugs.
Mostly bringing this up here so that Pussimech doesn't feel the need to spend the time. Unless they want to of course :p

@Probiscis Yeah, I think they don't have them as a "common recipe."
You can add it in the raws, though. In the Entity file, find the armor tokens and add
[HELM:ITEM_HELM_HELM:COMMON]

That should fix it. Also, the actual placement of that line shouldn't matter. Just for consistency.

Yes! Super helpful. I've been checking out a few Civ mods for ideas and to learn how things work. Two favorites of mine right now are Halflings and Succubus, because of how much they divert from normal.

I would like to use some LUA functions to create unique mechanics, although I am still currently a bit directionless on how I want to design them.

I've been playing your version for now to see if I might find some ideas while I play.
Like "Ah I think Erinyes should have this, or they should do that instead." ect :)

Also helped me understand portraits.

@2chuu4u i found it helpful to download a few mods and looking through their text files here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\mods. df also stores mods here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\installed_mods for already created worlds.

@PussiMech lol true! I've been learning how, but am a bit directionless for the time. This mod was helpful though for some of my learning process. Especially when someone found what caused the Swimming skill to go missing!

Ah, yes. That's fair enough, since at least it makes them playable. But I'm trying to plan out a more unique mod. Basically what we'd hope SEEU would make whenever they come back (could be next week, could be next year. Could be never?).

So mechanics around their Ruling Council, living in Forest Retreats, the low reproductive rate, ect.

I'm also pondering if they should keep the immortality and not needing to eat or drink. Just stuff like that.

If I can, I would add an incentive to build above ground rather than digging, but the lack of metals would make it really hard. It might not be worth it.

might want to make the world a atleast a medium size since sometimes there isnt enough room for all races. assuming you have multiple race mods

I don't think this mod makes them playable in Fortress mode, right? Just Adventure?

I'm actually working on a fanpatch to make them playable in Fortress Mode, and I'm looking for some fan feedback to help me decide unique gameplay characteristics to give them.

nah you can choose to start as either one of them, if im not mistaken the migrants that arrive are from the race of your civ aswell, so erinyes get more erinyes and dwarves more dorfs

Ye seems like it was indeed the problem, adding that tag to the creature tab already made the swimming skill show up in the adventurer skill selection tab

Hey I think I found the problem
I found this tag on the vanilla humanoids: [SWIM_LEARNED]

But the erinyes (and the gnolls and ratfolk aswell) don't have that tag, meanwhile naga also have [UNDERSWIM] and [SWIMS_INNATE]

they seem to be missing the swimming skill on the creation tab (dwarves skill in order are "... archer, observer, swimmer, climber,..." for the erinyes the order is "...archer, observer, climber..."

steps i took to make sure it was clean. it removes the mod and the installed instance df uses for saves:
0. unsub from the mod
1. right click steam icon and click on "open file location"
2. navigate and delete "sm_cv_valkyrie_adventure (4)" following the path: steamapps/common/Dwarf Fortress/data/installed_mods/sm_cv_valkyrie_adventure (4)
3. repeat step 1
4. navigate and delete "3226625832 (4)" folder following the path: steamapps/common/Dwarf Fortress/mods/3226625832 (4)
5. resub to the mod

Thank you for looking into the assignment issue. Unfortunately for me it still dosent work. Tried new world only whit this mod for testing to avoid mod conflicts. GuessI do it the hard way, start dorf fort and then make bunch of Erinyes adventurers and try to move them in :D

Also ty! You're a hero for updating some of these, I was very worried they wouldn't get added. Though I'm kinda surprsied cause i was able to play an erinys in adventure mode in one file with the old mod... but never again XD so hopefully this will let me grab one again in the future idk whats going on.

They work in fortress mode for me too. Even new migrants arrived for me. Only problem I had whit them is that I cant assign titles like manager, book keeper etc. Otherwise they work just fine.

Did some testing, its not the mod, but not a clue what I did lmao. Just happened to coincide with me downloading the mod, the worldgen profile I've been working on started to be racist against dwarves.
