was very happy to see the museum pic at the end, went there this year and you dont quite understand how giant this aircraft is until you realise you're about as tall as one landing gear

i cant spawn it

Cut the fuel pump off and feather the props, it takes a while to spool down as the last of the gas after the pump goes through the engines. No infinite gas or power on all my builds. Hope you enjoy
benraub727 16 Jul, 2024 @ 2:58pm
it can't turn off engines and taxi issues? dose it require no inf electric and inf fuel?
Vman Htown  [author] 24 Jun, 2024 @ 4:06pm
Resolved, hose connector on the pylons. If your flying it till it runs out of gas, then fair enough.
CaptainofPie 22 Jun, 2024 @ 5:02pm
how do i refuel the fuel tanks, i dont see a port for it anywhere
Vman Htown  [author] 22 May, 2024 @ 10:22pm
Not wrong, catalina is awesome, seen it flying. Maybe on the books
ragnar1532 17 May, 2024 @ 5:04am
Thank you for making this! Now to find an rnzaf Catalina too!

Power on, fuel pumps on, hold each starter 3 seconds, throttle up, your off. 👍

how to start
flakhappy 1 May, 2024 @ 10:29am
I've got a replica of the the Mark 24 FIDO which was the first airborne homing torpedo. I've been meaning to post it on the workshop. Its the smallest homing torpedo I could make and is as true to size as the original and will hit submerged targets with 90% success rate.
Vman Htown  [author] 1 May, 2024 @ 5:14am
If i can get a 1x1 torpedo that somehow tracks, It'll eat you sub for subway, it may have bombs but it used depth charges regularly, Yeah gota fix that back turret, thought it was clamped.
BigBoom707 1 May, 2024 @ 2:50am
Finally a good recreation of one of my favourite planes of all time.
HELL YEAH!
zeckmon3 1 May, 2024 @ 12:41am
Rear turret should be clamped to avoid glitching within itself and rendering it useless. great built however

They can never take out my U-boat! I use my 20mm on it and its crew begs for mercy.
noobie 30 Apr, 2024 @ 6:27pm
why do people keep calling this a "plane". its actually a flying boat, you can tell by the title.
Wandering Firbolg 30 Apr, 2024 @ 2:02pm
I was building a similar plane but yours is way nicer and everything I wanted! Well done!
EightHorse8357 30 Apr, 2024 @ 11:03am
this plane near 1940-1946 drop deepth charges above u boat to destroy him when he is underwater or surfaced. nice bulid:steamthumbsup:

Fixed a few more issues, and she is what she is.
noobie 28 Apr, 2024 @ 12:17pm
what a weird boat
flakhappy 28 Apr, 2024 @ 12:00pm
Much better. However you missed several dials in the lower decks, the engine cutoff issue is still there. tether the engine cutoff to the pumps. there needs to be an idle setting for the throttle at zero not a shutdown.

The main battery switch in the cockpit is still inoperable.

The aux Generator is still unable to overcome the battery drain issue. Maybe have a breaker wall or something to isolate areas.

I know I'm being critical but Its the little things that make a good build great :)
Spamhash 28 Apr, 2024 @ 11:52am
YES this is my favourite plane of all time thank you!!!!!!
flakhappy 28 Apr, 2024 @ 11:39am
I've been working on a Mk. 24 mine which was a WWII acoustic homing torpedo. Also the Mk.13 aerial torpedo by bubblehead blake is one of the best. I use it for my Grumman avenger.

If anyone knows of a 1x1 guided or homing Torpedo method, please let me know this beast really needs one!
Vman Htown  [author] 28 Apr, 2024 @ 4:54am
Updated Generator & some dials rope anchors etc..., and added a recovery probe to the large winch (Was WIP on a ROV for the winch with a video feed , but controls were finicky) let me know if the ROV has more interest than the recovery probe. if steering in the water, use the rudder & main throttle as water motors on pontoons work under 5m altitude instead of active engines as also prop pitch will adjust to decrease power to the turning side automagicly if props are running.
Thanks for the feed back Flackhappy well detailed, hope everyone enjoys.

I will Rectify
flakhappy 27 Apr, 2024 @ 4:26pm
Several observations I have found:

*an inoperable winch
* several dials and indicator lights are unlabeled with needs to be addressed.
* The electrical distribution room needs clear instruction, Like add a paint block with instructions on it because I have no idea what's going on in there
* The small engine needs the intake vented to the outside or it will suck all the air out of the compartment. Same goes for the bilge pump,
*Make the reverse pitch a button or switch.
*Add bilge pumps to each compartment since you have the doors set to close automatically.
* the main power switch in the cockpit doesn't work. You need to make a true power shutoff to prevent battery drain. I have no idea what is draining the batteries so fast but it needs to be addressed
*Revamp the aux generator as it doesn't have the power to charge due to the voltage drain.
*Have the engines turn off via the switch rather than the throttle. it makes it more user friendly and allows more control during taxiing

Rope anchors need to be added so you can tie up to a dock. See attached picture

You've got a great build, you just need to add some small fixes
Funkypants 27 Apr, 2024 @ 12:13pm
i wonder what will happen if i make it stormy
Pandakadabruhh 27 Apr, 2024 @ 10:32am
its kind of hard to takeoff from water but its still good
Iverpiver 27 Apr, 2024 @ 8:41am

Amazing plane

thanks
Vman Htown  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 8:27pm
Added some FCS for stability, let me know how it goes, shes a heave beast anyway and should handle like an old analogue cable pulley system... Also she has a pretty cool stall warning system and falls out of the sky at 40-45 knots based on air pressure over wings.
wsclarke09 26 Apr, 2024 @ 7:45pm
Please put a roll stab on
warppioneer 26 Apr, 2024 @ 4:56pm
Always been a fan of the short sunderland, glad there is finally a workshop creation that does it justice.
