After a server reboot, one end of one of my gates disappeared somehow. The one side that still exists takes me to the correct sector, but there is no gate there to take back. Any idea what could cause that?

Hello, I’m encountering an issue when trying to create a space gate. Every time I attempt to build one,

I get the following error message: "Can not target No Man’s space"

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Changing the target coordinates to different locations.
Making sure I have enough money and resources.
Checking if the area is within the allowed distance (max distance shows 10,000).
Testing with and without other mods to rule out conflicts.

Despite this, I still can’t place a gate in the desired sector. Could this be a restriction of the mod, or is it a bug? If there’s any workaround or fix, I’d appreciate your help!

Can someone please explain how to use the mod? Really want to use it but can't figure out how to.

to be honest, I think I'll just update the tooltip so that when people see it, it's less confusing, and if you want to update the description, there's no need to make an automated script for it.

But I see how this mod works now, and it should be possible, I'll work on making an update or even a derivitive of this mod that changes how it'll work entirely (maybe as a station/ship event) so that you're able to get both gates spawned, and at a normal game value.

I have a lot of other stuff going on, but I'll see what I can do!

@Cidræel Yea it is in LUA. I don't have much experience so if you want to change it, please feel free too and I can upload it here and put you in as another author. As far as I remember, I had problems looking into the actual code. I am not a LUA but a C# Programmer mostly so I don't have much experience haha

the gates, when built with unmerge with each other naturally too, so you won't have to worry if gates go to sectors close by, and coordinate math can be limited to how the base game does bi-directional cardinal labeling (or whatever it's called that results in WSW or NNE)

Might even be able to (if they allow it?) look at how gates are generated in the base game?

if you run it as a script (not sure about modding this game, I've modded others) You would / could run a script that (upon confirming the gates destination link) Builds another gate as a trigger, but not as a dependent.

But I also, really want these gates upon being built, to feel more natural. like farther away. (and in the direction ish of the other gates direction relative)

All of this is coordinate math. so I'm not sure exactly how this would code. what language is the game made in/modded in? if it's lua I might have a chance, but I doubt it

@Cidræel Haha yea no worries. It would be nice if they get made in both sectors at the same time, but I am not sure if, and especially how, I would turn that into code lol

ah good, okay. that makes me happier a bit. I thought i needed two, and then I had to link them before flying through :D. I guess the manual forgot to tell me that

@Cidræel yea you only need one and then fly through it so it spawns it in the other galaxy. Sorry for the late reply.

I did try to figure it out, but never could, I had a backup right before they were added (luckily)
I think you only need one ? And when you warp through it spawns another by default? I'll test this out eventually and update once I know for sure.

There is a command to get debug permissions which u can use to delete them instantly

I created two gates, one north, one south. they duplicated, and I can't rid myself of them.
Any idea on how I can remove them? I dislike their location, and the fact that there's two of them side by side to the same sector.
