Thanks for the update!

are there mod settings to disable select ones? Like what if I wanted to disable anything from 20+/- ?

10 looks like a good stoping point to me. But I guess it really isnt a problem if you just dont create any pawns with the gene, lol.

I've updated this mod so that genes shouldn't spawn on traders anymore.

Could we have a version that only has +-100 genes? So the merchant don't always sells genes from this mod?

The problem with pregnancy can be solved by using the mod "Metabolic Efficiency Uncapped" it removes the metabolic ceiling.

@{SK} That Lamer i mean that gets rid of the gene entirely, i want them GONE from traders only or just genepacks in general, that doesn't solve my problem with it

@Wolf653 use cherry picker.

would it be possible to just blacklist these specific genes from traders. i was thinking of just making them archite because like getting a 100 metabolic efficiency genepack in a trader from a mod i intended to use for band-aid fixes when i'm too clueless on how to get a desired metabolic efficiency on custom xenotypes i'm making, is bit ehhhhhh undesirable

Oh, I think I figured it out.
Biotech was being Biotech and being dumb with the RNG. I picked up Better Gene Inheritance, and that seems to do it since it basically removes the RNG if both parents have identical traits.

That issue with them not being able to breed is not something I know how to fix. I'd presume it's something deeper into the code that I haven't reached or touched, so my apologies that it doesn't work.

Hey so, I have a bit of a strange situation.
I made a stupid-OP race because I wanted a chill game, and the metabolic rate went through the roof (of course), and I picked up your mod to bring it back down when I found out the game won't let them breed.

Well, even with the rate at only +3 in total (with your adjusters), the game still won't let them breed because the "metabolic rate is too high," when the max is supposed to be 5. Any ideas?

@Victor -- Use a mod like Tweaks Galore that allows you to change which genes are valid to appear on trader genepacks.

I have the entire contents of this mod as well as one other mod with similar adjusters disabled in genepacks and they haven't shown up for me at all.

Would you consider additional adjusters/an alternate pack to do the same for VRE:andrroids? I was just trying to work out why my new colony was expiring so quickly and realised they weren't the godly specimens of my last start....
Victor 4 May, 2024 @ 12:43pm
They are very overpowered, since you can get them from trading, rendering the whole metabolic efficiency broken :/

I’ll just reenable the old one, since the name changed and use this on the next playthrough
Green Giggler  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 6:07pm
No, it is not. It is never recommended to remove mods from existing save files. The thing is that the "defnames" (defnames allow the game to identify the item) of the genes are different between the two.
Vseman 26 Apr, 2024 @ 4:38pm
is it safe to remove the old version and insert this one into an existing savefile? thanks
Green Giggler  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 7:56am
Should be fixed.
Green Giggler  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 7:52am
Heh, sorry about that, I goofed trying to rethink my logic. Haven't been messing with xenotypes in a while so I kind of forgot. Don't know where the concept of removing points being more favorable. I'll fix it.

Hey. You accidentally put the icons the wrong way around. The smiley face removes points and the sad face adds points.
