If that can help others out there, i find it very playable without it to use for the main purpose of mining steel and comps.

My current game has most of vanilla expanded (not sure at that point what's a mod and what's not) and i get quests nearby about some enemy logging, hunting camp or whatever and these maps are full maps with minable resources. So I just use those now.

I assumed mining outside original map was one of the main reasons XD it's why i use the mod at all. even better with SKRTS ships to pick up the iron :D

There are critical, fundamental changes in 2 or 3 of the versions that prevern a 1.2 save from safely upgrading to 1.6.

Whether you retire the mod or iterate on the new mechanics, thank you for everything over the years. This mod gave me a lot of enjoyment.

@Alias, I've had iron chunks spawn when using these camps. During one of my far north runs I've used this mod to go south to hunt and bring home iron when my starting deposits were over. This mod was and is lovely.

hi one cool feature of this map, was that it let me claim a pristine ruins from the real ruins mod (along with a vanilla setting of increasing owned bases to the max which i think was 5)

im still on v1.2 of rimworld with my main game with 500+ mods (these things take time to upgrade savegames lol), but just in case the new 1.6 vanilla game does not include this feature, then it would be nice for setupcamp to still be able to do it in some way in future :) if not for me, for others lol :o)

@Krystenix, I stand on the shoulders of giants. Nandonalt would be the OG on this one (followed by Syrchalis as a slightly less original OG)

@♕ His Majesty ♕, I'm still planning on converting the mod to be more or a collection of tweaks on the base game. Just trying to get though updating my other mods (and maybe spend long enough actually playing the game to get a sense of what I need to change). Nobody's getting left behind or forgotten here. That said, I'm not sure how you've been mining ore from camp tiles since that's never really been a feature of the mod (it's always spawned the same kind of map that you get when your caravan gets ambushed).

This mod still has a right to live.

Added campsites don't have any ores (and I used this mod to mine ores out of my tile many times)

Added campsites are reported to delete the tiles permanently

@Risk, I'm trying to let the dust settle on 1.6 a bit before I go making commitments or writing code, but yes, making the mod into something that customizes vanilla camps is loosely the plan I have in mind. Fair warning though, it's likely total re-write territory and I am notoriously slow when it comes to those.

in regards to 1.6 update is the any change you can intergrate this mod with the camp option from 1.6 but allow us to fully customize the camps its generates and the abondoment time?

@VitaKaninen, good hints! Will have a look at those. But I already fixed the slider in my local mod copy. Raised the max size for map generation to 1000. That did the trick.

@Nicoman, you can change this in a few ways. If you use Map Reroll, you can just set the map size in the Map Reroll settings and then reroll the map as soon as you get there.

Another way is to use Better Sliders, which gives you a text entry box beside all the sliders, and you can just type in whatever size map you want, and it ignores the size restriction.

Very nice mod. I like it. Especially the possibility of adjusting the map size in the settings. Only thing I miss is an option for maps larger than 400 tiles, as I like playing on large maps. But ok, there is always the freedom to do this change in the own, local copy ;).

I would like to say thank you and thank you to the original creator of this mod. It has saved my pawns countless times when traversing the world. It has also been useful in finding valuable and needed resources, and sometimes food for the main colony. I've even used it to get to the ship so that my colony could leave this planet. It may be a challenge to update it to 1.6 with the changes 1.6 makes but I still think the mod is relevant and worth it. So please consider udating it though I will understand if you choose not to. Thank you again.
