Same Room Lovin' (1.5, 1.6)

I can confirm this mod prevents the "lovin' need" to be fullfilled automatically. When the pawns do the lovin with the mod no matter if they are in the same bed or not, the need does not increase. However, without it it does. Peculiarly, using the "initiate lovin'" option you can get using the genes, even with the mod, it does increase the lovin' need satisfaction. There is also a bug with lovin' not triggering bloodfeeding but that seems to not be related to any of the lovin' mods I have as it present even without it. In both cases, I do not have the "forbidden mod" so it is not the cause either

8Mb why? No way is this that complex of a code change.
MarximusMaximus  [author] 26 Feb @ 9:43pm
Are the VE Highmates participating? Are they getting hearts on themselves?
Nox_Sanguinis 25 Feb @ 3:45pm
VE Highmates Lovin' need is buggy, they don't seem to count the lovin' from other beds as lovin'
MarximusMaximus  [author] 28 Aug, 2024 @ 6:04pm
Just adds people to the lovin', so that they also benefit from the mood buff.
Baseball Legend2 28 Aug, 2024 @ 4:52am
Right but what does the setting do specifically?
MarximusMaximus  [author] 28 Aug, 2024 @ 4:26am
There's a setting you can change. Default is 5%.
Baseball Legend2 28 Aug, 2024 @ 1:30am
How does the Group Lovin Chance work? Is it the chance for the initiator to invite other people when they decide to do lovin? Do they invite anyone they could do lovin with or do they pick randomly between valid lovers? Do lovers of lovers get invited? I'll probably figure all this out in gameplay by the time I get a response but I figured I'd ask
MarximusMaximus  [author] 1 Aug, 2024 @ 8:24pm
Ah yea. I do similar. All bisexual, free love, unlimited marriage. Keeps their moods nice and high. They almost never fight. Or if they do, it ain't a big deal. I think the highmate thing is what's speeding you up.
Looming Dementia 1 Aug, 2024 @ 3:44pm
Oh, and it works fine for my purposes, since my modified high mates don't have the characteristic that causes the conflict that the one commenter mentioned with high mates. Mine don't do the soul bonding thing. Seems to work 100% for me, so no worries there.
Looming Dementia 1 Aug, 2024 @ 3:41pm
The absurd number of weddings is the result of my bizarre cult silliness. I have a colony of all gay women (would work the same for all guys, obviously, or with a 100% bisexual population), and allow for unlimited marriages for everyone. In this colony, my starting tribals are modified high mates who are capable of violence and have a few other weaknesses tweaked to be less debilitating.

And then other gay women get recruited into the cult (consoled to be so, during the conversion process), and strangely, they want to sleep with all of the smoking hot cultists. If you don't do the comedic level of lunacy that I create in my colonies, you won't get the mass weddings like I tend to.
Looming Dementia 1 Aug, 2024 @ 3:40pm
It all depends what kind of playthrough I'm doing. I often turn down the auto-death-on-downed percentage a bit. It annoys me when I encounter a really good raider whom I would like to recruit, but she got killed by the random death-on-downed chance.

She has a pelvis in the red, and both legs are injured. Down on the floor in pain, with over half of her health left. Perfect capture and recruitment situation for a great colonist ... but nope, the RNG just decided that falling down killed her. So, I often cheese the settings to increase colonist availability like that.
MarximusMaximus  [author] 20 Jul, 2024 @ 7:23pm
Oh wow. I feel like I get the colonists slower, so maybe I have the problem less? That would be an interesting idea for mod / feature. No idea how to do it off hand. I admit that I only bugfixed these ones. Only made one (so far) from scratch and it was a very simple XML addition. I've made mods for other games though. Just not this one, so I'm less familiar with API.
Looming Dementia 19 Jul, 2024 @ 6:29am
I need mid-range numbers more than I need really high numbers. Each new colonist adds an additional number of eventual weddings equal to the previous number of colonists. 😄

Seriously, I need a mod that allows for mass weddings, like something out of the Unification Church. By the time that I hit about 12 or 13 colonists, my people are having daily weddings. At every wedding, another 1 or 3 pairs become lovers, until everyone or close to everyone is hooked up. And then another 2 or 3 pairs of existing lovers decide that they'd like to have a wedding like the one they just attended.

If I had 30 colonists, it would be 2 or 3 weddings a day, for the first 5 years. Kind of crazy. I always cap these cults somewhere in the upper teens of colonists. But the huge beds mod allows beds for any number between 1 and 15. But then it's either a 15 member bed or a 30 member bed. Nothing in between.
MarximusMaximus  [author] 17 Jul, 2024 @ 9:21pm
FWIW, I have successfully used this in a barracks of around 50 colonists. So it should work for you Looming Dementia.
Looming Dementia 17 Jul, 2024 @ 11:29am
Oh well, I'll give it a whirl, then. I wasn't sure if many people had been having problems with it or what. 🤷

I'm running a lesbian free-love cult, at the moment. So, simplifying sleeping arrangements would help. The 15-occupant bed works okay, but the options in the mod jump from 15 to 30. A 30-long bed is just ridiculous, from a base layout perspective. Might want to get a few more colonists than 15.
MarximusMaximus  [author] 12 Jul, 2024 @ 7:24pm
@Looming Dementia I dunno! Maybe b/c I forked it from the original? Maybe because I didn't provide source? (The original author didn't provide source either, so I didn't wanna release source either. I decompiled the original, updated the function calls to the new 1.5 names, and recompiled.)
MarximusMaximus  [author] 12 Jul, 2024 @ 7:22pm
@B flat
It doesn't work? I thought it would, since it just allows them to not care about being in same bed. What do you see happening?
Looming Dementia 12 Jul, 2024 @ 6:07pm
Why the heck does this thing only have 3 stars? Are there some bugs or horrible incompatibility issues that aren't mentioned in the comments section?

Roving band of prudes review-bombing it?
Brybry 10 Jul, 2024 @ 8:01am
Thanks for the 1.5 update <3
B flat 23 May, 2024 @ 7:53pm
Any chance to make VE Highmates Lovin' need compatible with this?
RynnEver 4 May, 2024 @ 3:39pm
Thanks for the 1.5 update! I prefer this aesthetic to using big unwieldy poly beds. It also works nicely with Way Better Romance.
TheCarrierPrimoris 4 May, 2024 @ 2:18pm
Thanks for the patch, Double M!
Am I the only one that gets Hard To Handle stuck in my head after seeing the name of this mod?

Pawns come along, ten silver a dozen
That ain't nothin' but same room lovin'!
MarximusMaximus  [author] 3 May, 2024 @ 6:56am
"Does this also satisfy the wants to sleep with if lovers are same room but different beds?"
Yep!

I've never tried with prisoners... I always make individual cells... lemme know how it works for you?
[JdG] Pejman 3 May, 2024 @ 6:16am
Does this also satisfy the wants to sleep with if lovers are same room but different beds ?

Looks like a good alternative to polyamory beds.

Does it work for prisoners though ? I wonder if prison barracks will turn into lovin fest xd
stun 1 May, 2024 @ 9:03pm
ThoughtWorker_WantToSleepWithSpouseOrLover first checks if they own beds and if those are the same bed, and then checks if the room that the bed they own is in is the same as their spouse/lover, so I'm pretty sure all you should have to do is remove the first check and it'll just look that they're in the same room and work the best way.
ShyGuySpirit 1 May, 2024 @ 8:28pm
Ah, I didn't know there was an original. (I see the link now.) This is my first time seeing this mod. It is a cool concept though. I'm definitely going to try it out.
MarximusMaximus  [author] 1 May, 2024 @ 8:19pm
OG mod was just allows them to get the love buff regardless of being in the same bed with a partner. Basically they can somehow love across the room. Or have an orgy. Basically allows a whole bunch of single beds in a barracks and they can get the love buff multiples times.

If the OG doesn't update, I would like to see this mod also just remove those debuffs entirely? I don't know if it would be possible to just entirely remove the possibility of the debuffs or somehow check if they're sleeping in the same room as a bed owned by (one of) their partner(s).
ShyGuySpirit 1 May, 2024 @ 6:51pm
I wonder if this would be a good replacement for Polyamory Beds. Would this satisfy the sleeping in the same bed buff/debuff? Or is it just a lovin' mod?
stun 30 Apr, 2024 @ 9:24pm
very nice
