It seems it works perfectly, and I simply forgot how my own creation works.
Apologies for the confusion.

And by may, I mean is.

It seems that the Duelist's custom combat logic may be broken in some or all situations. I will look into it when I have the time.

@Typical_Name I've been having the same problem. I got your response as a notification, but the notification indicator didn't light up at all to let me know that I had one. It was just chance that I manually checked it just now.

Oh neat, cool to hear that the portraits were updated. I dunno why steam didn't notify me of the response, I checked the "subscribe to thread" thingy. o_O

Not sure I'd say the game *has* a vanilla style given the sheer number of generic unity store assets it seems to use, but it's nice to see generics get some love

@Typical_Name After some back and forth, I have created a new set of portraits that should match the base-game much better.
Thank you for your feedback.

ilikegoodfood  [author] 1 May, 2024 @ 3:25am

Version 1.0.01 (Menace Removal):
- Reduced menace of challenging someone to a duel to 0. This will prevent the target, or other heroes based at the same location, from spontaneously disliking you for it.

@Typical_Name It is exactly because of the economic situation that it uses AI art.

I do not have the financial liberty to be spending hundreds of pounds on artwork for every small hobby project, that I give away for free.
In addition to money, I also don't have the time to be finding and going back and forth with a commissioned artist. This project was put together in about 4 days, for a two-week deadline, which overlapped with my working on a major Community Library update, aimed at fixing issues in the vanilla game.
If I wasn't using AI, I would be finding whatever creative commons images were available, which is very challenging, and I wanted them at least somewhat matching between races.

As for the artistic style issue, that one can absolutely be addressed.
It's possible to create, with difficulty, a huge variety of art styles using AI tools. The hardest thing with SoFGs is that the art style it uses doesn't really have an actual name, and therefore is difficult to reproduce.
If others agree with this, I have put out a query among my fellow modders on the discord, I'll try and find or make a new batch that better matches.

I'd be more interested in it if it didn't use AI art. Setting the socioeconomic issues aside, it doesn't fit the aesthetic of the rest of the game.
