Okay, seems like it conflicts with Secrets of the Amethyst mod. Its probably not expecting the 3 extra units.

Causes immediate crash as of July 4 '25 when pressing the amethyst armory button.Narrowed it down to htis mode

Works fine with sfo as of today:)
i am pro at total war 19 ian. la 15:00
i think this needs an update as with it enabled the first item you get from buying a unit upgrade does not trigger. everything else seems to be working though

Hi, had to redownload this mod, works fine now.
Thank you XenosParadox

It might be a case of steam refusing to update the mod, i reinstalled it and it worked... then didn't, then did again. It's weird, it shouldn't be breaking anything since it just changes one thing.

janky game be janky i guess

I did some testing and was unable to replicate your issue. The mod seems to be working both alongside others and alone on my end on the current patch. I am sorry you are having this issue. I do not know how to fix what might be afflicting your game.
portnite 25 aug. 2024 la 17:35
I honestly don't have much details to use, i just used this mod with a small modpack, game would crash on launch, so i removed every mod and tested em one by one, and this one just hard-crashed the game on launch every time with no error message, whether it was the only mod or active with all the others.
XenosParadox  [autor] 25 aug. 2024 la 8:35
@the man Could you provide me with any more details about the crash so I can try to fix the problem?
Omoshiroi 25 aug. 2024 la 1:56
compatible with new update?
portnite 21 aug. 2024 la 17:36
this specific mod is crashing w/the new update, just figured i'd drop it down.

Thank you for removing that cap, was never a fan of it

Just want to thank you for the work you do. Hoping for continued support, as this is my favorite faction personally and it's really appreciated you made these.

I love the idea of this mod as the price can go insane however it feels a bit over powered it would be cool if maybe there was a research you could do unlimited times but would take like 10 turns that would bring down the price by some percentage. sorry if it comes across a criticising your hard work for a free mod, appreciate everything you modders do!

Love this. The price increasing seems fine on the surface, but it basically makes it so that you don't want to recruit any amethyst units into any other army besides your LL (or maybe your next one or two strongest armies) because if you lose them they become so hard to replace. Good stuff.
Kahrayana 22 mai 2024 la 2:32
Same thought for me as well, a must have mod. The only suggestion I may have is that the artillery building should generate schematics, even a little bit.
Thx again for your work ~

Yeah, can't believe this wasn't in the big hot fix today. Putting a reverse snowball mechanic on a faction's unique mechanic is just beyond stupid. There's no equivalent that I am aware of, Ikkit's nukes don't get more expensive, Beastmen and Chaos Dwarves get to re-recruit their lost units. It's super puzzling that this isn't an official bug to begin with. Thanks for the fix!
Pamparampampamparam 8 mai 2024 la 14:01
Whats ridiculous is I don't think its a unit cap, its a constantly increasing price on every unit period, which is super fucked.
XenosParadox  [autor] 6 mai 2024 la 9:46
@Rohen I looked into how the Beastmen work and their scaling costs all involve scripting which is definitely beyond my capabilities. However, I did find a mod that does exactly this here: No Dread Cost Increase

If this is what you're looking for please give their mod a subscription.

10/10 incredible
Raging Gay 6 mai 2024 la 6:19
awesome mod!
Ritter 6 mai 2024 la 5:32
whats the max cost for amethyst units w/o this mod?
or will it increase infinitely, which would be ridiculous?
Rohen 5 mai 2024 la 10:20
@XenosParadox thx for the link, i searched for something like this a few times but never found anything, looks like i searched for the wrong keywords.
XenosParadox  [autor] 5 mai 2024 la 6:59
@Rohen Someone actually made one for the Chaos Dwarfs a while back that still works in 5.0 as far as I know as I use it myself. ChaosDwarf cap cost stop after 9 times .

As for the Beastmen, I am unsure if one already exists. If not, I will take a look and see what I can do. I rarely played beastmen despite how good they are so I am less familiar with their mechanics.
Rohen 5 mai 2024 la 5:28
kinda off topic, but do u think u can do a mod that stops the increase in cost to increase the unit cap for units of beastmen and chaos dwarfs after a certain point like 20 units? i always hated it that with chaos dwarfs when u have 4 or 5 fullstack, the cost to create another just becomes higher and higher, the cost to increase the limit by one at 20 is already pretty high, and there should be no need for it to incrase from there on even further. unfortunately i never found a mod that does this.

nice mod
Paradux 4 mai 2024 la 7:35
Man, if you loose a few Amethyst units they will become incredibly expensive to replace, then
XenosParadox  [autor] 4 mai 2024 la 7:01
@arognar Yes, that is correct. When you purchase a unit in the armoury, you are adding it into the recruitment pool. Hiring it from the recruitment pool into your army "spends" that unit from the pool. If it dies, it does not go back into the recruitment pool, so you would need to buy another from the amethyst armoury. That is how it works in vanilla and is intended for this mod.

Good question though, I had not specifically tested that yet.
arognar 4 mai 2024 la 6:08
i've a question if i buy 3 Amethyst ironsides and they die. am i supposed to spend more schematics?
XenosParadox  [autor] 3 mai 2024 la 15:21
@Pimmy Yes, this is save game compatible, and also seems to revert the prices back to their base cost if you have already purchased some unit capacity.
Pimmy 3 mai 2024 la 14:46
Great mod! Would this be save game compatible?
Winchester Dan 3 mai 2024 la 7:03
wow
robink1619 3 mai 2024 la 1:11
Thanks for this god sent. Didn't get why they made both an army cap and then also made getting them scale.
Kai_27- 2 mai 2024 la 18:04
Thank you for this! Was a little gutted when I saw that they went up every time you bought them, as made them feel much more limited (on top of the 5 per army limit)

Works even if applied mid-campaign and reduces the costs back to default :)
Sin 2 mai 2024 la 13:13
Will do!
XenosParadox  [autor] 2 mai 2024 la 13:06
@Sin Thank you very much. This is my second attempt at a mod so please let me know if you encounter any issues.
Sin 2 mai 2024 la 12:03
Followed you to see what else you come up with in future :)
