An update has dropped!

- Greatly optimized tiny pills' performance.
- Improved support for server-side addons.
- Fixed max ammo issues previously present on certain weapons.
- Fixed jump start/end animation issues previously present on certain weapons.
- Improvements to the spawn picking algorithm.
- Other fixes, optimizations and overall cleanup.

i'm sorry lizard. i can't see why gungame should be added into the game. VSH was pretty good but this feels like another game entirely. there are other gamemodes like Stop That Tank or VIP (TF2C) that have a lot more in common to TF2.

i would also like to condemn the harmful messages that some people have sent to you.

Honestly, pretty good. Plays pretty nicely in TF2.

I don't really see how this would "spread players thin" since this is kind of a niche game mode and a typical server seems to be best with 4 to 8 players, sort of like MVM. Nobody has ever said MVM was spreading players thin.

It is honestly pretty good. I just wish auto b-hopping was included in it, it is the only thing really missing from the game mode.

Trying to shoehorn a gamemode from a free mod into tf2 for a quick buck isnt nice, will be relevant for as long as zombie infection was, wont get worked on after a month tops if at all after release.

IMO: This doesn't fit into casual like zombie infection doesn't and its probably gonna get rushed out and attempted to save later the same as zombie infection.

This type gamemode isn't for Casual, it's for Open Fortress. If you want to play it, download Open Fortress. It's already there

This is indeed an impressive work, i won't lie, but this should remain as a funny vscript gamemode that community servers can propose. But in the end it won't fit for TF2, but for OF.
As dabmasterars said: VIP would deserve Casual (once it's done and well designed) but not this or Deathmatch

even when the gamemode doesn't match the style of TF2, i like to think that when there's more variation in the game, it's better, this style of gameplay for me at least is something fresh for the game, simple, very casual and fun, in some sort of way i like to think that this gamemode is fun enough to be officially in casual, also the team behind this really put a lot of effort, obviously that's only my opinion, if anyone dislike it, is fine

1/2: Oh boy, where do I even start... I do want to say i am impressed that this is even possible - a quake-style gamemode with custom weapons. I'm still fascinated by the sheer volume of things possible via VScript.

However, this does not belong in casual. This is not Team Fortress. Literally, there is no teams. As others also pointed out, killing people should never be an objective in TF2. Objectives shouldn't be skill-dependent, so that even new players can contribute to the team without killing a single person. Even gamemodes like Arena and Player Destruction abide by this rule: you can capture a point to win in Arena, while in PD it is possible to snag someone else's pickups and deposit them, granting points for your team. Gungame requires you to kill people to progress.

2/2: I'm fine with this map existing, as long as it doesn't get added into casual matchmaking. We do not need another gamemode that's gonna be played by most people only for novelty's sake and then die in the alternate gamemodes section, like what happened with VSH. (which also fits TF2 way better than this) Then, it's gonna be another gimmicky mode that nobody remembers in a game already bloated with hundreds of maps and a bunch of other abandoned gamemodes, some of them made by Valve themselves. (Mannpower, Robot Destruction)

LizardOfOz, if you're reading this, I would suggest working on the VIP gamemode instead, since it fits TF2 way better, being literally Attack/Defend with extra steps. Plus, it was in Team Fortress Classic, so it fits even better as a remaster of some sort.

TLDR: Impressive, but doesn't belong in casual. Finish VIP VScript gamemode instead.

@masKara i agree with you on this, its always the tf2 extremists that would bash on something like this, im suprised an certain youtuber hasnt already bashed on it aswell, i however do agree with them that this mode misses the point by not having the classes the game is known for but i personaly dont care its an love letter to an mod that was made by people who loves tf2 and im always open minded for modes like this so long if they are done with passion and if it feels proffesional made.

This is what I don't like about the TF2 community, they complain when there isn't something new from valve, but when a PART of the community does something new like in this case, a new game mode (which is technically from a separate game (Open Fortress, Quake, Half Life, etc) another PART of the community goes and says "this shouldn't be in Team Fortress, because the Team Factor is lost" or "this is better for community servers but not for the official casual", idk know man, in my personal opinion, this should be in the game officially

Very cool map, can't wait for the deathmatch, unfortunantly I just don't think this fits in *TEAM* fortress 2. This would defo be a community server game mode more than anything. Even if it had teams and such I still just think it deviates from the core gameplay too much to be fit for official tf2. Still a very great mod though, cant wait to see if the deathmatch has new weapons or if its just the tf2 ones.

Put this in Open Fortress instead of TF2. This doesn't fit the game at all and is just more v-script slop that won't recieve any support after getting added. (See VSH and ZI, with VSH being barely played at all. This will suffer the same fate)

This doesnt make any sense in my opinion, especially if it ever got added to casual. Why would anyone play this instead of Openfortress, which probably has way better optimization and more features too. It's not like Openfortress has that many active players anyways

Are the Mercenary's voice lines through the Voice Commands going to be implemented in a future version?

Don't know if it's possible through VScript, but you have been able to implement new voice commands for all 9 mercenaries via VSH, unless it's different here.
