Hello, firstly thank you Sir Ni for all the JA3 mods you have made! This one is particular seems extra interesting since I always thought more perks to really customize each merc was something that was sorely lacking in the base game (coming from heavily modded games like XCOM 2). Just some feedback that was mentioned previously:
1.Sharpshooter perk is bugged since you can put perk point into it but it wont reflect as one of the perks in the merc, essentially wasting a perk point.
2. Some perks like 'Enfilade Fire' iirc, shows '[number]%' instead of an actual numeric so I am unsure if the perk is even working or not.

So far, other than these, I am looking forward to playing a full on playthrough with this perks! Thanks again.

+1 to Nuxes' issue. Placing a perk point into sharpshooter consumes the point upon confirmation, but does not add to the mercenary's list of perks.

The perk point is spent, but the icon doesn't get a yellow border and check mark.
Also, is an assault rifle considered a rifle, or are those two different categories?

Sharpshooter seems to be bugged, I put a point into it but it doesn't actually unlock.

I particularly love these perks (so much so that you can bet that I'll steal parts of your code lol):

Gunslinger: Increased Range (flat bonus) for handguns, increases damage (scales with level), increases CTH (scales), reduces ap for shooting by 1

(buff)LightStep(Mouse) - adds the following: auto-hide after killing an unit at level 4, auto-hide at the end of its turn at level 6, auto-hide after taking damage at level 8. She will remain hidden if not in standing position, other cases she will be revealed (she isn't Shadow)

(rework)Lightning Reactions("LightningReaction") - no longer goes prone, CHANCE to proc once per turn (25% at level 10), does not affect NPCs(Santiago and Major have this trait tho), it scales with level and agility

(new perk)BurstControl - Increases number of shots and damage for burst attacks.

yes, I was confuse by the 10+ level icon and max level 46 change, the Vanilla Perks Expanded provide 10+ icon but not max level. So I got the "Lv10+ Icon" for 46 level and turn off VPE feature.
than I found bag of trick got the level max setting....

to be simple. those mod on list are mostly turned off. I am aware it will be bad have muti mod doing same job.

those are mostly replaced by your bag of trick.
on the other hand. whlie I'm not sure which mod cause coop failed. I use another mod to get my item to squad bag, bigger inventory...etc

so with tricks and perk mod. "10+ level icon" "maxstack tweaks" etc. those are disabled.

btw. the level icon missing as well :D

@Milktea it's ok, don't need to be sorry. We will fix it. I noticed some things in your log file that you should avoid tho, many mods are doing the same changes in your game and would be better if you choose only one

I am sorry. still all missed. and loading time still greatly increase even with new game.
I delete the workshop file and unsub resub to make sure I am using the new version,

do I need another mod? or is it possible another mod cause icon missing

think i will try it in my next play through but atm i am glad that everything works how it should (and dont want to break it when i change mods midgames) - but anyways looks cool and definatly these r good improvements

I understand, Sir Ni. You could just take inspiration from the mods though, and nerf them as may be necessary if they are really unbalanced.

@Morianthi @Shuri-Sama the "when blabla 15" is basically a cheat, and far away from be balanced so I am not comfortable using it. Key's perks are basically vanilla traits with a few tweaks, and mostly centered in a particular merc, I don't want to fill the tree with redundant perks, apart from the vanilla ones. As for the other suggestions I would have to take a better look at to be able to consider it, thank you so much for the suggestions tho.

Otherguy, Tadaa! and key's merc mods also have some interesting and unique perks that could be adopted to your envisioned perk tree.

Hi Sir Ni. Are you aware of the mods "When Level up add 15 perk can select" and "MMOcenaries Standalone: Custom Perks"? You could take inspiration from their perks to fill-up your own perk tree, especially since insofar as the former, it uses -- for lack of a better term -- the old coding approach, as far as I know, and could use an update.

@Shuri-Sama I know what you are talking about but I tried changing the vanilla tree skills and it does work well, if I figure what is happening I will probably relocated 70% of them lol

what i dot like since the elease is that some skills r not worth to get (u need 3 of the previous) skills even if they r usefull. for example why u need to skill something for gunners if u aim for a skill for a mg? gunner skills r useless for this build but u need to waste 3 skillpoints to get this.

maybe u can reduce the requirement with this mod (hope for it ^^)

Ah, thx, I found the option (for the additional perks like sharpshooter) in the game rules section when I start the new game. I thought it was in the mod options section.

as for the perk, if you added the mod with an ongoing savegame, you may not see some perks but the effect will apply, I will try to find a solution but not all effects of this mod can be added in a saved game :JA3medkit:

@SJD thank you so much for the feedback, I fixed the more drastic bugs now, later I will add some more sugar text to the perks as you suggested, as for the AR bonus, as it is a bonus that scale with level you may not notice in low levels or with AR that don't have a long range, I see AR as very versatile weapons they can be fast and short range or a bit slower and longer range, I think is unfair to give a flat bonus so you can simple change the barrel to get extra AP, I want to keep everything as balanced as possible as all this perk change not only the mercs but also the enemies, this is how the AR bonus range is calculated max range + modifications * your level % so, if you have an AR with 30 max range at lvl 10, you will get +3 range witch is very fain in my opinion, since is the same range as many Sniper Rifles :JA3diamonds:

Plus, cannot find 'Sharpshooter' (for Buns, Kalyna, Scope, Shadow and Reaper) perk icon, nor its toggle options anywhere in the game, and some unique perks like Lightstep or Jack of all trades lack its in-game function description so it might be better added to the tooltips (just a recommendation)

Additionally, Wolf's Jack of all trades perk description shows a broken text, like '<number>% faster'. It seems like the auto-weapons perk's range extension does not apply to ARs as I test it (it only applies to SMGs), and ARs have barrage special action not only SMGs.

Some AIM merc portraits (Mouse, Meltdown, etc) does not show up, appear as blank space
