@Nex this sounds like Bugs you have due to the use of other non surported mods. What is your mod list?

This seems to fix the UI frame problems but eventually the UI starts frame drops again. Restarting the game seems to fix the issue though.

@AfterlifeBarista thats great to heart. As I have no money for expensive Monitors, I dont have a gsync setup to test or fix it. But it really seems to work for some. Strange but good.

Hey, update on further testing. I tried the advice someone posted here a page before, about forcing Nvidia's G-Sync off for imperator.exe and turning full energy performance on the Nvidia Control Panel, and instead using the game's own VSync. Can confirm a substancial performance improvement using that method in conjunction with this mod. Without it, it goes unchanged (low fps on some menus), but with it I can easily hit 60+ FPS at all times, and the game is ticking considerably faster.

@AfterlifeBarista Okay, good to know. I still have no clue what the problem is. Your hardware definitely isn't too weak. Maybe I'll test my mod on some other PCs, since I'm building a few right now and can try out different configurations.

Currently testing with the new version of the mod. Performance is increased for the first 5 or so years of the game, but past that it degrades back to single digit FPS when opening province view or character interactions. Running an i5 10300H 2.5 GHz, RTX 2060, and 32 GB RAM.

I can report that I'm seeing a big improvement in performance as well. FPS went from 25ish to 60 (capped by vsync).

as requested, i am reporting that this mod tremendously improved my UI performance. went up from less than 15 FPS to 60+. thanks for everything you do mod creator

@Trident121 As Rome the event triggers at the year 644 AUC and you need to be a great power or bigger. If the event did not trigger with both requierenents met then it is very likely that you have installed Reanimata incoreectly or you use other mods.

you can try the console command "event ip_republic.45" if you don't know how to activate the console: Press F11 and then the ^ button

Same question about Marian Reforms. Unlocked legions tech + punic early but cant build more than one legion which is fairly unhistorical?

I have some questions regarding the law for the marian reforms.

How/when i get the marian reform event law?

I have the innovation as Rome, but i also have do had Gaius Marius reform event? In what year this character spaw, and what the conditions for he to spaw?

I found a performance bottleneck: Disabling Nvidia's G-sync for Imperator in Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> Imperator profile (if it's not visible, click "add" and select imperator.exe) -> Monitor Technology -> Fixed Refresh (Also, Preferred Refresh Rate -> Highest Available). Enable in-game V-Sync instead. Power Management Mode -> Prefer Maximum Performance may also help. These significantly stabilized performance; FPS is higher overall, and I no longer get extreme drops in some menus. I have a beastly PC (RTX 3090, 3900X, 32Gb RAM, fast internal SSD, etc), so it may not work for everyone.

@cpimentel ~PdS~ true a searching mechanism like a achaic tinder would be funny and possible. It is likely that there is another gay in your realm but how to find him^^

I will add more content to that for lovers and such cases homo or hetero. Right now there is a character interaction "seduce" for others gays but I can add one with a chance of "gayification" of heteros depending of the stats of your son and soon to be ruler.

so much to do so many plans and so little time^^ :D

first time doing such a thing mind you! coding's fun with a bit of motivation lol. But yeah, other than triggering the one event code manually as per you shared on the main thread, not many events actually, other of course for char interactions, which have worked thus far excellently.

i tried also in a new playthrough out east in bactria, had a son, named him Bagoas, borrowed the code from the catus cheat mode for Adding Good Traits to chars and replaced it with just make_gay_effect, made him (successfully) gay upon 16 but no events for him thus far.

well, actually, i did get a gay son (whom i accepted, for I had named him hephaistion for this very purpose, thank you very much! XD) but other than that, not any event thereafter. i think a character interaction for non-historical heirs / characters would be worthwhile, to trigger the event chains in some way and designate a specific char as gay. not just for the ruler family, but for someone else that might be amenable to be a lover, or to be able to *find* other gay chars, because @ 4% spawn chance globally without being able to search for that specific characteristic, it gets difficult on the dating scene for my poor son XD

@cpimentel ~PdS~ Ok, the important part is that this file3 is still working which means I can continue on my bigger update as I have bundled the performance tanking put into a seperate template file and no this fix does not overwritte the main GUI file anymore. Still as my current task is to integrate the HIP mod into Reanimata entirely by reworking a lot of it I still have a lot to do^^ :D

Just tested with a weaker PC I have. Still 55-60 FPS in overview without this fix while play time running and stable 60 FPS in pause :/

I could also try with one of my weakest PCs which has a Ryzen 2400G but this is still much more poweful than your 5500U even if yours is much newer^^

Well, I suppose this would explain many things vis a vis my performance as mentioned in contrast to other players of the mod. I shan't press for a light version (which I readily gather would be additional effort unto you) overmuch, but if it comes me and my little machine here will be the first in line for it, I'll readily assure you <3 And again, should contributions to the cause ever be needed, you know where to find me! Thank you for everything. Should I come into enough time for testing with my actual Play Rig, I'll let you know quick.

i understand, don't worry! it is what it is. At present, I don't have access to my gaming machine, since I'm mostly working out of town for the present so at least for now I do not...

I did not know that about this little friend here RE: the U designation... Can I Run It told me it did reach the minimums, so i thought it'd be ok, and thus far it had. maybe im putting undue strain with the new capabilities introduced by the mod unto the machine? i dunno. seems to run everything else ok within the confines of the mod and even (as we have seen) improving with each TEST file.

@cpimentel ~PdS~ yes sure this tiny thing runs at max 25 watts. My entire PC uses 50-80 watts while doing nothing^^ DO you have any more powerfull device for testing? It seems that your laptop does not reach the minimum specs for vanilla accoring to steam. Again I am not mocking your laptop it is just not designed for gaming. The U in the CPU name stands for "low power (consumption)"

Let me check your APU but this GPU inside is very weak thats for sure so it is more suprising that you get 60 in vanilla^^

i should clarify! the 20 fps is only on the overview when playing with great powers it seems like. like aforementioned seleucids and so on.

Lemme get the precise specs, but in vanilla, even as the seleucids at their post-Corupedium extension on the map, its at 40-60 usually on vanilla or invictus-classic

So - Province / Culture / Overview are Either Same or *Better* actually. There has been improvement, more so indeed on the Work Laptop. Overview remains now consistent at about 20 fps mostly. Province View has no noticeable slowdown. Culture is still a bit reticent tho, but i don't know if its because of the amount of pops or what. Still testing more with more kingdoms!

@cpimentel ~PdS~ Thx a lot but I would feel like a beggar^^ Motivation becomes a problem if you do a lot and the problem is not fixed in the end^^
Anyway I just uploaded file3 with another idea I had. using templates I can change the guis in the main mod and keep partial code for this fix different.

Now please check again whether province, culture and overview are better same or worse. Culture view does not use scripted guis as I have seen now but the code was written suboptimally so I changed that. Most of that stuff I have written over a year ago^^

Does the diplomatic view have problems? There are icons as well.

as for the matter of motivation... i really wish to support your work with means more effective than words alone. Do you have a paypal or ko-fi account?

even if not, know that you can take as much time as so wished, liberty. those of us that face these troubles are, by much accounting, lesser in number than far than those that are reporting no real issue, so if this is far too taxing to resolve whilst also working on the actual update to mechanics, we'll back you 100% percent no matter what

at least at the present, i make no use at all of the observer mode, so those of us who are in that position could test that variable (doing it like FMO & Better UI) in this file for example or a copy titled TEST3 with that added on top.

in any case, i really wanna cheer you up bcs you are awesome!

@cpimentel ~PdS~ In any case it seems that I have to do that for at least 4-5 different GUI files which is not that motivating as on a content level there won’t be nothing new for the time being. Also, I cannot be sure that this will be the ultimate fix because I cannot test every little change myself. I should buy a high FPS monitor for doing so but my gf will kill me since my room has already 8 monitors XD

@cpimentel ~PdS~ right now, this test file2 has all 60 scripted GUIs back inside but there is a "visible = no" command higher up in widget hierarchy. In need to think about a way to replace this command with the previous mentioned scripted GUI. The problem though is, if I do that like other mods (e.g. FMO or Better UI) by saving a variable on a country scope then the observer mode is unusable (which is true right now because my mod is still depended on FMO) because in observer there is no player country and the variable cannot be loaded while tha game tries that every miliseconds again and again... In the long run (starting with the Beta state of Reanimāta), I wanna remove the dependency on FMO like I did with Better UI to bring the observer back fully funtional.

@cpimentel ~PdS~ you are a great tester, which I need here for this file ;) Unfortunately, this performance problem is a bit demotivating right now because I was working on a big update which also adds stuff to the province GUI but I wanna fix this performance thing first so I don't have to mod two variations of Reanimāta side by side.

@cpimentel ~PdS~ well to disable "that loading process via those ~60 scripted guis" I can use -ironically - a single scripted gui which checks whether the player has disabled it or not and if it is disabled this one scripted gui prevents the other 60 scripted gui from loading.

in brief: went to workshop\content\859580\3200234580\gfx\interface\icons and put in vanilla icons and painstakingly picked and chose which icons i could see from nation overview & culture tab, and changed them for vanilla icons or removed entirely. not pretty, but that's how i did it
