It works in 0.7.3
Please watch the video for instructions. Creation needs to be on lift to be registered. Also, U is the default key, it will not be U for you if you've changed the key mapping.
Mods:Fant Custom Mode (+dep), and more.
#FixSM #FixScrapMechanic
The creation has to be on the lift and the seat has to be vanilla. U key is in my case (which is also the default key), if you remapped your keys it will be different for you. Also might not work properly depending on what other mods you have running.
I am totally with you on office chairs being awesome, it's one of my favourite seats. They are unfortunately hard-coded in the game. But now that I think about it, I suppose I can add those as a separate modded part.
One of the reasons I've not looked into integrating the mod into survival mode is that if you're playing modded survival, it's unlikely that you will only be using just this one mod, and that's just going to be a compatibility nightmare.
As for the lift issue, that is intentional since there are other tool mods out there that may make use of the same key and this avoids conflict with those. Also, to be clear, the inventory slot doesn't have to be empty, it just can't be a tool.
can you give link for top car(with a lot of wheels) in preview gif?
Seats with custom functionalities however are much more nuanced and is not completely up to me even if I wanted to support them.
trailmakers feature in in scrap ( to bad i dont use that feature

I don't have a wheel after selecting the direction of the arrow (right mouse button selects the arrow, but no wheel). I press the interact button, but nothing.
Still, very cool mod
However, the Seats and Tech Mod has completely custom seats with custom functionalities.
Some of those functionalities inherently conflict with my mod, and unless both modders work together to come up with a compromise, it is nearly impossible to adapt my mod solely to work with theirs.
IMHO, one crucial feature of my mod is the wheel interface, which is only possible with function "hooking" (for the technically minded).
This makes it extra difficult to adapt to other mods without their modders accommodating it in some way.
I'm open to being proven wrong, though, so if anyone here knows how it can be done, I'm all ears.
