Here are two screenshots of the of the Narrow Sea region from the colormap ( HERE [i.ibb.co])and colormap_water ( HERE [i.ibb.co]) files of both mods for comparison. As you can see, there's a markedly higher level of terrain detail in this one when compared to the one on the forums.
Removing these files from Colonizable Valyria's mod files should be all that's required to fix this issue. Valyria will once again look like a desolate wasteland, but you should still be able to colonise it and the rest of the map shouldn't have buggy terrain.
Also, if you don't play outside of Westeros, there is the Westeros Only official submod [agotcitadel.boards.net] that removes the rest of the map from the game entirely which will improve performance massively. There are also submods that remove smaller areas like YiTi if you still want the Free Cities or Slaver's Bay.
There are also programs like CK2Edit [agotcitadel.boards.net] which you can use to purge large numbers of dead characters from your save file to potentially improve performance of pre-existing playthroughs.
Hope this helps!
