@Kanade, they don't unless if they ask the author from booth for the permission, they will likely say no because those are only meant for VRChat. So, the moral of the story, if the model is inside of VRChat and it sets privately and they can't clone it, it's alright for them but, if it is outside of VRChat and someone he's publishing them publicly with/without money it's not okay for them. Lesson learned for those who ported copyrighted models publicly. Be careful next time.

I always thought they had rights to upload the models they using. Same for the ones that sells them. That sad if its not the case

If you get a lot of DMCA Bans, it will increase the length the ban even further if multiple items are reported, it gets worse until it becomes permanent.

I personally would stay away from them and continue porting normal content instead of those.1/2 Years ago, i reported a lot of users who port copyrighted models into L4D2 publicly and some of them are taken down by the original owner on booth. I don't want you to be next but, good luck. Someday it will happen to you and it's not gonna be worth it. Trust me, I've seen a lot of people getting mad about this, you don't want to become like them.

@Kanade, because they mostly don't care or know about them being copyrighted in the first place and i don't think that asking money to exchange a copyrighted model is legal because firstly, it's prohibited because the person is basically distributing the model with a price on it and it's also commercial use, secondly if the original author from booth.pm finds out about this, he will likely file a lawsuit on a guy who is selling/exchanging them for money for selling copyrighted materials without authorization (There's an actual law rule about this).

I just edit existing models that are in the workshop already. I give credits to the ones that imported them. They never had any issues with DMCA same for me.

To be honest, if i get banned I wouldn't care that much. This game's community doesn't deserve modders continue share their works for free. I've seen so many monkeys crying about this and that for no reasons. They are the reasons why most of the talentend modders quit sharring their works. The few that are still here are mostly askin money in exchange which is a good idea imo

@Kanade, I will and also, I've noticed that you are porting copyrighted models into L4D2, my advice is to private them because according to some documents about those models, they are prohibited to redistribute them public by a 3rd Party Program, meaning that If you don't do anything, there's a 50-60% chance that you will get DMCA Banned. If you don't know anything and you are confused about this, just add me on Steam because I've gathered a lot of information about them and they are spicy.

Doesn't matter what kind of mods you do there is always some monkeys that come and instant dislike for no reason at all. Most of the time, it's the ones that can't even mods themself. So yeah, you should just ignore them.

The odd part is that, those are not real people disliking my content, they actually use bots to auto-dislike my content whenever i'm publishing something into the Workshop.

Also, downvotes / dislikes should be ignored, in my opinion. They can't harm / take down one's mod(s). You made some great add-ons overall (for both L4D2 and Gmod) and rewarding the trolls (via deleting / hiding your own mods) is sad because it means you let them win. Please think about it and don't not feed the trolls ever again.

@Myth[Alex], if i remember properly, i deleted that add-on because i wasn't updating it at all and they were constantly disliking it for not reason. Maybe i could bring them back into Left 4 Dead 2 if you want.
