@AngelicVanguard Iron Wasp has a fairly low durability value and can easily die.
Is your Iron Wasp stunned or dead?
If not, we do not know. Sorry.

I'm only able to tame the hive units, is that a problem on my end or are the little guys not able to be tamed?
