Strange thing
I opened BP to production (btw started new game with your line up) so first serious ship i take to build was Hero. BP in factory required 17 Large upgrade kits. obtained them dropped all stuff in go for build, done, spawn. Shocker when comes to turrets. 4 T2 Mini guns and 15 T1 Lasers. Where despaired 13 Large upgrades. Generally that in game thing with subscribed items sucks.
You can not discard old clatter which use to came by default i think no body ever build any of these silly ships and structures. Not thinking that is anyone here is fault just rising issue here to warn you what is possible to happen. t this moment i do not care much for upgrade kits but when i started Hero that was just 4-5 days from starting new game and it hurt

4-5 days with Hero armed with 16 Mid Visible modulators and 13 Infra red Light , powered with Large Fusion thingy, 207 K shield capacity supported with Quartermaster carrier. Warping in Zirax space in more than 20 systems( trying from habitable, hot, cold BH , exotics ) no luck to find Towera. Biggest treat what i found was Ilemirian Zirax Destroyer. No even near match to Hero.
Modest yield of 5 Processors per each killed plus 1 unknown item described as Zirax attempt to build Advanced computer guess 1 more worthless item dropped in game marked as value 100K.
Well in next life probably will be able to sale when Zirax become friendly to me. Average, fight lasted 5-6 minutes ( That destroyer is pretty fast and my skill flying Arts ships is still in learning curve) Its getting boring. Will be nice instead of dropping stupid useless items in game they should drop in tool to harvest Vodium because is there and one day wuill be used.

Once more apology for long writing but its real case of appreciation for your build and philosophy of approach to it. Someone with modest knowledge of Space games (Nearly 28 years, started in days of Dial up Internet) had trough this time over 100 space games. All of them lasted from 2 hours up to 10-15 days and discarded. Weary first one i hold which was needed to be redone to be able to ply on Windows as they are progressing in development. Its just collectable item a vintage no buddy plays.But that game set standards for all space games, lasted about 8 years and was generally initiation to birth of game i ply now just over 20 years. not just me, 8 of as from different parts of World do that. We became friends trough game. Any way i have (we) have 7 your CV -s one of them is Quartermaster and even Miner(still not spawned) Will like you test Rigor now after they Nerf missiles and post your assessment that will be appreciate

I am sorry i address you so often. I am still learning philosophy of your build. Considering that I am not any more basket of fresh flowers and that is your fault i played game to this level. (Normally i will build 3-4 end game ships taken out of Work shop and go one way to Zyrax space , gloriously die delete and start from beginning) And like this roughly 4 years. This is my and few of as side game. No offence to anyone. Game i ply celebrated 20th birthday last year. Its space game as well with motto: Do not fly ship which you can not afford to loose. So often when nothing much is happening in our main game, no CTA or tipped valuable target is late to turn up trough Star gate, Jump bridge , or cyno jump on neutral station we change com. channel on Team speak from But sex to Private and ply this game. Come to main point. You described Hero as ship with
42 turrets. Do you have some kind of recording we will be able to see exact positions. .

Cumming back to Arcadian, it siting parked fully loaded max no of cores full ship crew. My Quarter master a side of antimatter drives micro warp drive small fusion core Rep platform additional drives (all antimatter) even added carefully not to affect any single line of ship 4 medium antimatter trust lifters at front. Quartermaster like that with ease carries Stardacian and mining CV
Kriel Ore Decimator (modified miner from R1) Lengthwise they fit on landing deck (Stardacian nose protrudes few blocks over deck edge. Tested on 4G didn't felt a thing it lifts vertically 59 m/s.
So my Arcadian will be carrier launched. His crisp paint and look will be kept. When i vent back to Legacy space with Stardacian didn't come a cross with Eredictor mind you i was at least 45-50 systems, none. Now checking Neutral space (exotics, BH and such) than will move to see where is Towera . Looking for place to employ my Arcadian. Btw. my Sabaton is in Que waiting.

I was with Rigor in Drone land (no possible repairing just hand job with multi tool ) spare combat steel blocks and antenna decoys. Pillaged every combat site i come on the way (wasn't bothered with class 3) Must admit didn't try Hive combat site. Anyone who played R1 and tried that sites knows what is waiting there.So with loosing few hundreds of combat still blocks ( i waited in fight till i loose front decoy T1 generators ) Any way on the way back (collected tbh for sure 16 sets of Procesors for Auxes and not sure but minimum 2 sets for SV-s. Travelled back trough Legacy space ( lol drone Land to legacy space over 1600 LY) and as I go trough Legacy with minimal quantity of amo and Pent on the move collected 2 sets of Quantums and enough to go with my Starcadian anti mater drives. Starcadian at the moment is overloaded with everything possible .

The Arcadian is an absolute beast it almost feels like cheating as its game brakingly good. anyone brings that into there game they can rofflestomp the whole galaxy without worrying about what they bump into theres few things in game they may slow it down but with a little patients theres nothing pve that can give it more than afew dents and the Arcadian dont mind loosing massive chunks so these little scratches from careful fight with a torva leave no emergency for repairs just resupply ammo an the damn thing just keeps going :o well impressed

RN my favored lineup is The Shippo II ( Or The Halcyon ) > The Arcadian. And that's it really. The Shippo II or the Halcyon are great Core7 combat ships that will get you your first quantums, but as soon as you are Core9-11, which doesnt take long at all, you can can bring in an end-game Beast, The Arcadian or The Sovereign would be my recommendations for End-game.

Youll have no problem going through the entire game with my lineup, I do. A few of my combat ships are built more for Zirax-style encounters, which are more shielded fights, done from longer range, like the tovera fight. Those ships are The Hero V2, & The Rigor Rostrum. They are Harriers, they de-fang from long range. RN the best loot in the game for the fastest advancement is fighting Legacy ships to get from Core7 to Core 13, and so a lot of my newer ships are geared toward being very adept against legacy, theyre slower as a result, but theyre very sturdy by comparison, and I would actually recommend using those for the relative safety they provide and because theyre a bit more versatile.

loving your builds. trying a Artiemis only playthough. i like to be able to stick with one style throughout.. though my shameful attempts to match my low level starter base made me happy to leave my starter system :p just at the point of raiding shielded penitentiaries then off to legacy to gear up to come back for revenge on zirax.. im thinking Shippo->Ballatide->Rigor->Hero..Restart as fair progression... this sound about right for a line up ?

As for the ship looking 'unusual', the Arcadian was built for purpose, it is only 6 targettable blocks tall, while keeping all 8 ( armored ) manual weapons at your eye level and mounting over 20 turrets within a 6 targettable block tall profile. There is nothing else like it by any builder. There is so much attention to detail in that ship's layout and profile that most players will never fully understand or appreciate the design. If people don't care for the appearance of the ship... I don't care. It's like me telling the Lockheed engineers that I dont like the shape of the F-22. It's shaped that way for a reason, it needs to be that shape to do what it does.

At some time in the future I will. But The Arcadian is done and ready... right now. It is the best god damn ship on the workshop :) Try it. I worked hard on it. I have already used it through an entire playthrough, it murdered everything, easily.

I actually meant to leave a separate question about The Arcadian but comments are disabled there. My question about the Arcadian is: why did you choose that particular engine layout? It looks quite unusual, and I’m curious about the reasoning behind it. As for the Hiro, the lack of forward firepower is a real concern, so I'm hoping to see an updated version. Thanks again!

Hi Artemis, thank you for your creativity, I really like your ships, I'm currently flying the "Ballantid", I really like it, but now I'm looking for a bigger and more armored ship, and with more guns, I'm choosing between Hiro or Arcadium, I like Hiro's design better, but it doesn't have a full set of forward guns. The layout of the engines in Arcadium is confusing. Are you planning to update Hiro to the current limits?

I like Visible spectrum for Mediums, and Infrareds for the Light modulated. Long range, good against shields, good against devices/turrets, kill drones well also.

You can build it in a constructor ( advanced ). You just need Water or Ice from ice asteroids.

The Rigor Rostrum is made for Earlier Game use, it sheds everything unnecessary to be able to be cheaply brought in at a time in your playthrough that it is most useful, it is an end-game battleship but it is also very minimalist and pragmatic in it's design, It's a Honda civic. In designing The Hero I ignored any Core7 compatibility and focused on exactly how much armor, shield, and weapons I would want close to the scenarios allowable CPU 14/15 Cap of 1.4-1.5 Million CPU, The Hero is designed to put more CPU to the best use to make the best possible combat airframe using the scenarios limits as the baseline. The Hero is a Performance End game battleship, it is made to make everything easier, cheaper, faster, and safer. You don't need this much battleship, but it's nice to have, it's nice to have 300% larger shields, it's nice to mount modulated turrets perfectly and not pay for ammo, it's nice to have space to stack turbines, it's nice to have constructor space, etc etc.
