Gotcha thanks!
Jakalor  [author] 15 May @ 10:57pm
*Sigh* Yeah, I've had issues with this stuff throughout the process, it's basically impossible to fix due to the map editor having lag and other problems
Tanaka 15 May @ 10:40pm
The art looks great but there are strange lines running through the provinces for some reason?

Tanaka 10 May @ 8:47am
Haha yes I see now! Nice!
Jakalor  [author] 10 May @ 1:57am
Regrettably, that'd require me to Actually Do Something, so not here. Subscribe and then use the map :D
Tanaka 9 May @ 10:54pm
New art? Could you post some pics?
Jakalor  [author] 28 Feb @ 10:19am
That's wild. Does this happen every time?
Nyarlathotep 28 Feb @ 8:41am
For some reason when I try to load this map, it randomly generates the surface and only properly loads the underground.
Jakalor  [author] 5 Feb @ 6:52am
Updated to fix these and other issues I found
Mardagg 4 Feb @ 9:57am
just now:
(458) start with two Ri equipped with many gems and an army of tuatha warriors
Mardagg 4 Feb @ 9:35am
this is why I am assuming that there stille are like 12+ special forces provinces that are missing the no start tag.
Mardagg 4 Feb @ 9:33am
I am doing more test runs these days and will write the IDs down.
From my memory I can safely name two:
(41) though it was cool to start with sacred crocodiles
(823) or (859) massively overpowered start, huge amounts of knights etc. upkeep on turn 1 like -800
I can see the AI starting on those provinces regularly, when the hall of fame is crowed by named commanders, like Black Knight Lords for MA Mictlan :: this happens in almost every test run with 30+ nations.
Jakalor  [author] 3 Feb @ 11:52pm
@Mardagg Could you provide the province IDs?
Mardagg 3 Feb @ 1:43pm
there are a few provinces with special forces that are not tagged no start actually.
Did a lot of test runs the last weeks.
Also looking at the hall of fame, I can see that the AI can start there too, resulting in extremely strong AI starts ( e.g. AI gets like 80 black knights of ulm on turn 1 etc. and expands to 20 provinces turn 10 on indie strength 9).
Otherwise, a great map :)
Jakalor  [author] 13 Jan @ 3:16pm
@general chAOS Can you give me the province ID? You shouldn't be able to start in any provinces with special forces.
general chAOS 12 Jan @ 4:38pm
Ah okay, I just saw in a video someone posted about Oeridia that there was fog of war, I really appreciate the response.

A friend of mine was playing MA Ermor and they had an awake god but when they loaded in they just had a Sage and a bunch of knights?
Jakalor  [author] 12 Jan @ 4:40am
No, there is not.
general chAOS 11 Jan @ 9:54pm
Is there some way to get fog of war?
wintermute 24 Sep, 2024 @ 10:11am
Wonderful, I've been waiting for this map to get a good update since Dom6 dropped. Thanks!
Bigbadkaveman 11 Sep, 2024 @ 1:23pm
nevermind. steam workshop doing workshop thing. deleting and redownloading worked! Good work!
Bigbadkaveman 11 Sep, 2024 @ 1:12pm
the three listed provinces still seem to have the same issue.
Bigbadkaveman 11 Sep, 2024 @ 11:24am
awesome! Thank you
Jakalor  [author] 11 Sep, 2024 @ 5:04am
OK, so apparently, despite not being listed anywhere, Deep Sea has to always be combined with Sea.
Jakalor  [author] 8 Sep, 2024 @ 10:56pm
As far as I can tell, the provinces are correct in the .mod file (the bitmask is 2048, for Deep Sea), but I've been having so many issues with the map that I'm not surprised that it's the case.
I'll see about making a post regarding the issue in a bug thread.
Bigbadkaveman 8 Sep, 2024 @ 4:59pm
1083-Underpenlake
1079-Blackwaters
642-Myr-Dyv
I think its these three.
I went about trying to fix it but it keeps reverting back. Lack of knowledge on my side I'm sure.
Jakalor  [author] 8 Sep, 2024 @ 4:36am
@bigbadkaveman Can you give the province numbers
Bigbadkaveman 7 Sep, 2024 @ 9:19pm
the two farthest south cave provinces that are supposed to be sea are showing as plains. there is also one sea province that connects to greyhawk sewers on the overland map that is showing plains when it should be sea. only problems ive had with this map so far. i love it.
MightyPsychoBat 28 Aug, 2024 @ 10:46pm
By the Pankator! YES! I was using the old one hoping someone would port this map! Wonderful! Thank you! I was getting tired of mountains being plains, haha.
Warboss Goregutz 27 Aug, 2024 @ 8:23pm
Man I tried making maps but its beyond me. Well done for the effort
Jakalor  [author] 30 Jun, 2024 @ 4:17pm
Yeah, it deletes the title and description every time I upload a new version.
Imban 30 Jun, 2024 @ 3:32pm
I think your latest fixes messed up the map name.
Jakalor  [author] 26 Jun, 2024 @ 3:54am
Can you give me province numbers @Jnklr
Throcky 25 Jun, 2024 @ 8:01pm
A few land nations spawned in the sea in my last game. I can only assume that is no intended
Jakalor  [author] 21 Jun, 2024 @ 1:49am
I hear you people enjoy updates. You know who doesn't?

This guy. He hates it. Why?
BECAUSE IT'S THE MAP EDITOR MAKING IT HAPPEN EACH TIME.
Jakalor  [author] 20 Jun, 2024 @ 1:53am
Oh boy, it's another update to debug the fucking map editor shenanigans!
Vord 19 Jun, 2024 @ 8:45am
Fantastic! Being checking for this almost daily, this was my favourite map in D5. Thanks Jakalor!
Krec 13 Jun, 2024 @ 12:43pm
Awesome job getting this going
Jakalor  [author] 13 Jun, 2024 @ 6:03am
OK, so I've updated the map and fixed all that you've listed there Scrap.
My undying appreciation goes to you for this.
Jakalor  [author] 13 Jun, 2024 @ 2:58am
Many thanks! Yeah, from what I can tell it's basically the map editor in-game being complete trash.
Scrapulous 7 Jun, 2024 @ 9:23pm
Oh, and for the sake of completeness, here's the list of provinces I saw that are having this problem with the huge, negative bitmask values:
959
969
972
995
998
1003
1005
1016
1018
1024
1025
1026
1029
1034
1035
1037
1040
1041
1043
1044
1046
1051
1052
1053
1055
1057
1061
1062
1064
1066
1067
1069
1074
1075
1077
Scrapulous 7 Jun, 2024 @ 9:22pm
I saw another few oddities with terrains while scanning:

Sea province 849 has a terrain bitmask for Deep Sea (2048) + Sea (4) + Highlands (16), and just appears as "Gorge". Province 910 has those bitmasks + nostart and also claims to be a Gorge. These might just be bugs with how the game displays multiple terrain types, which was pretty limited the last time I looked into it.

Sea Province 940 has only terrain bitmask 512 (nostart) and appears as a Plains. This is a bigger problem than the two above because it totally lacks any underwater bitmasks and the game will treat it as a land province despite it being in the middle of the ocean and looking like water.

Thanks again for tackling this, I love this old map and I think it will be fun to play in the new dominions 6 format. It must have been an enormous task.
Scrapulous 7 Jun, 2024 @ 9:22pm
When I look at OeridiaD6AdventureMode.map, I think it's pretty clear why: the terrain bitmask value is set to -576460962756820472. As I understand mapmaking, negative values aren't valid. There are many provinces with this exact bitmask, so it should be an easy fix, but it's probably more interesting to figure out what's introducing this weird, invalid value. In my scan through the file, it appeared to start happening only once the file gets to province number 959 and it increases in frequency up through the last province, 1077. It's my guess that whatever program you're using to fill in the terrain values is choking on the number of provinces in Oeridia.

2/3 (fingers crossed)
Scrapulous 7 Jun, 2024 @ 9:21pm
Hi, Jakalor. Hope you're doing well. I love that you have tackled modernizing this massive old map. I think the new art looks good and converting the underground areas to the new plane format was a great move.

I'm also seeing the problem Tyburn mentioned with provinces. It's particularly noteworthy in the northeast, like Tyburn said - take a look at province 1053. It's terrain is listed as "Terrain: Void & Vast (flooded)".

1/3 (hopefully)
Jakalor  [author] 4 Jun, 2024 @ 9:01am
OK, so I've fixed the mountains, they were noted as being Cave Walls for whatever reason. @Tyburn
Jakalor  [author] 3 Jun, 2024 @ 3:18pm
The sea routes are perfectly intentional, so are the magical connections through the teleporters.

I'll check out the mountains, that sounds like a serious bug
Tyburn 3 Jun, 2024 @ 12:59pm
Check the mountain provinces in the northeast- they are marked with Void and Vast;
Void (Very low income, many magic sites)
Vast (armies will not clash, cannot be owned)
I'm also seeing some connections that are very wrong, like province 730 that connects to 765, 954 and 706 (unless they are there to represent sea routes, but we have the Sailing attribute...).
Jakalor  [author] 3 Jun, 2024 @ 11:20am
Mountains are Highlands due to that being how Dominions 5-6 actually handle those terrains. The old "mountain" terrain from 4 and earlier is the Highlands terrain while the Mountain terrain is the old Border Mountains terrain.
The latter has no impact on map movement, the former does.

What do you mean by "void"?
Tyburn 3 Jun, 2024 @ 11:07am
Oeridia was my favourite map in Dom5, thanks for this. It looks really nice too, the best of the big and chunky maps on the workshop so far. A brief click-through after starting a new game does show that a large amount of the provinces are mis-attributed however- mountains are highlands, or void & vast etc.
