Storage Item Limiter

This is exactly what Adaptive Storage Framework lacks and it's such a necessity imo. Unfortunately I simply cannot use your mod without that compatibility as there are a lot of baseline features ADF uses that are absolutely necessary as well imo. I will sub to your mod and periodicity check back if you get ADF compatibility working.

landing with the grav ship seems to remove the limit

Hey @dawud.weaver,

I’ve been trying to make my mod work with the Adaptive Storage framework, but no luck so far. I will check it out in the future.

Also, I saw that you can already set item counts on caravans. Isn’t that what you wanted?
klada  [author] 24 Jul @ 11:35am
@dawud.weaver

I am not sure about compatibility with Adaptive Storage Framework. I will update you in a short time.

This is a really good idea about caravans and gravships. I will look into that too.

Thank you for your interest.

does this work on containers from the Adaptive Storage framework? I could see something like this being quite useful for loading a gravship as if it were a caravan

Would it be possible to get this to work with OgreStacks?
Yoann 23 Dec, 2024 @ 7:00am
Another solution maybe could be to put exceed items in pawn inventory. Then they will empty the inventory during an opportunistic haul (so, low increase of work).
klada  [author] 23 Dec, 2024 @ 2:51am
Dear @Yoann,

Sorry for late reply.

Both approaches have their own unique problems.

If storage would eject exceed items,
Items could expose rain, outdoor and it could ruin their durability and player could miss that easiy.

If pawns would move items to another storage, this could increase their work responsibility.

I will try to solve the bug in following days.

Thank you for your contributions.
Yoann 10 Dec, 2024 @ 1:27pm
If the pawns could do it, it would be good.
But I talk about the stockpile itself who eject the exceed items, as in the mod "Stack gap" (so pawns come back to haul the items who become out of stockpile).
klada  [author] 10 Dec, 2024 @ 12:56pm
Dear @Yoann,

Do you mean pawns carry out exceed items from a stockpile ?
Yoann 7 Dec, 2024 @ 12:31pm
"The mod does not count items on the way. So, sometimes item count may exceed the limit."
An automatic items ejection couldn't be a solution? (like in the mod stackgap)

@Numbskull,

Sorry to hear that.
Those 3 shelves are linked together or seperated ?
Numbsküll 15 Nov, 2024 @ 6:59am
Doesn't really work. I have 3 shelves where I want to stock 3 food in each. But instead they stock 5 food in 2 of them. Makes it a bit useless for me, I guess

@Latyra,

Thank you for your good comment. I glad it worked for you. Have a nice day.
Latyra 18 Oct, 2024 @ 6:45am
I wonder why this isn´t more popular. I needed this for better priorization and it works great for me. Thank you
klada  [author] 12 Aug, 2024 @ 12:29am
@Ninada_O_o

Happy to hear that. Feel free to contact me if you have any problem.
Ninada_O_o 11 Aug, 2024 @ 6:51pm
Figured it out, fixed the save. The mod works, thank you very much!
Ninada_O_o 11 Aug, 2024 @ 6:23pm
Sorry, it seems the pawns' behavior broke after they visited biosculpting (coincided with the mod experiments). Otherwise I can't explain the rollback of saves and the disabling of experimental mods...
Ninada_O_o 11 Aug, 2024 @ 5:54pm
It doesn't work... the behavior of the pawns has broken, they simply stopped carrying (to warehouses except for the limit) and using dishes, instead they eat whatever comes under their feet.
It may not be compatible with my mod build.
Maybe there are some similar mods? (I just had a hard time finding this one)
A storage limit is really needed.

Dear @LegitGamer1017,

I did not have a chance to measure properly the performance in big bases.

In my tests, It has some overload on vanilla version but it can be neglected in small bases.

Best answer for your question is, you should give it a chance and try it yourself.
LegitGamer1017 19 Jun, 2024 @ 6:10pm
How is the performance impact from this mod?
Mad 19 Jun, 2024 @ 12:07pm
Hello.
I've send suggestion to developers of the RimWorld game:

Please add to "Storage zone" settings the number of NEED LIMIT.

and found your beautiful mod. But...

After i've add this mod:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3260714470

inside my middle save game - my screen start to black-flashing every 0.2 seconds and i can not to play now.

@晓山alreShan

thank you for your comment.
晓山alreShan 6 Jun, 2024 @ 6:11am
The first mod about stockpile allowing to set different limit for multiple different items. (I guess)
:steamthumbsup: Excellent!
klada  [author] 4 Jun, 2024 @ 3:39pm
Dear @Latex Santa,

I've tested my mod with several mods that increase item stack size, and it seems to work well with them.

If you're using a specific mod, please let me know the mod's name. I'll be happy to investigate compatibility.
klada  [author] 4 Jun, 2024 @ 3:36pm
Dear @The Dutchman,

I have updated mod name in game to resolve the confusion. Please let me know if anything does not work.
klada  [author] 3 Jun, 2024 @ 11:42pm
@Latex Santa,

Yes, the mod compatible with storage buildings.

My mod modifies how pawns find storage to haul items. It should work, if the mods that you are mentioned, do not change how pawn find storage function.

This is my first thought. I could give you satisfying when I reviewed them.
Latex Santa 3 Jun, 2024 @ 10:49pm
@klada
Is this compatible with vanilla shelves and modded storage furniture?
Is this compatible with mods that increase or modify item stack size?
klada  [author] 3 Jun, 2024 @ 4:08pm
Sorry for confusion,

I will update the downloaded name tomorrow.
The Dutchman 3 Jun, 2024 @ 3:49pm
Its called Thing Limiter once you download it. Bit of an issue when searching thru the modlist via Rimpy/Rimsort
The Dutchman 3 Jun, 2024 @ 3:35pm
Hmm, this might be better than the original
