While Odyssey adds more birds, there are also flying birds in the base game.

Birds are in the base game now!!
Odyssey adds over 40 new animals that can be tamed, trained, traded, or eaten. Watch your colorful flock of sparrows and bluebirds take flight, raise a hunting pack of scimitar cats and great wolves, go swimming with seals and otters, or just keep the cutest ones as pets, like porcupines and prairie dogs.

@󠁳⁧⁧ ‡ Ive never used CE but I know most of the patches are part of their mod now. So perhaps ask on their discord if someone can fix it?

Hi Mlie, do you know anything about the CE compatibility of this mod? I know the old version with just the temperate birds was fine, but I played today and a cockatoo from the tropical birds went up against a lion and the lion was struggling to penetrate it's armor for some reason. Eventually he killed it but he died himself anyways.

I have no idea why, but this mod causes an infinite loop : if a pawn tries to attack an object (wall, door, etc) in melee, it can never reach an adequate position, and keeps trying every tick, even after you undraft it , move it or give new orders. The only way to stop the loop is to unequip the weapon (or kill the pawn).
Easily reproductable with this mod alone and harmony in dev quicktest.

I was very surprised this was the culprit :D
