Yup. Ismail and Co. did more to affect Iran's place in the world than any of the vanilla Iranian leaders in the franchise. Nice work.

As an actual history buff, I can say for sure Azeris are a Iranian peoples who speak a turkic dialect. Genetics testing has shown azeris are of either cuacasian or iranian descent. The Turkification of Azerbaijan is thanks to the Seljuks and the area prior was Iranian thru and thru.
The Seljuks and Ottomans themselves were offically known as Persianite states and many modern Turkic nations and peoples were Persianized. This is the history guys no amount of nationilism can get behind the facts.

So please lets stop insulting each other and calling each other race traitors shall we?

I have an issue with Karkhane not being an option to build. It works for the AI but not for me as a player. I have disabled MODs tried several times. No Karkhane no factory haha any suggestions??

There was no, or weak, concept about races that time as I know.
And Safavid Empire created a part of today's Iranic identity, especially about state religion for they changed it from Sunni to Shia.
Also they used Azerbaijani on religious terms and on army, while used PERSIAN on administrative terms and at court.
I just want to say, Abbas I undermined Qizilbash army and established Ghulam army.
That's a fly in the ointment.

Great mod, but historically extremely biased. Persian empire? Shah Ismail and the Qizilbash were Turkic, ancestors of many modern day Azeri's and Anatolian Turks. Nothing Persian about it.

Awesome. A thousand times better than the game's Persia. Are you planning on doing an Egyptian Eyalet or Khedivate of Egypt led by Muhammad Ali or Ismail Pasha. I think they would be much more interesting than the games Egypt. Apologies if you are already planning one of them.

If you mean in-game, then no, out of more than a few hundred civilization mods, none of them have speech yet(though a couple will in the near future).

If you meant it as a historical question, then it would be confusing since languages and their dialects change as time goes. But yes, he would have spoken a version of Farsi similar to the modern one, and he also spoke other languages, including Turkish.

A new version has been uploaded and the direct link on steam has been updated as well to fix the icon issue. Turns out a file was moved to the wrong folder.

Yeah, the latest update had some weird consequences. What Tiberius described is almost exactly what I've noticed, except for me the civ icons and leader portrait keep coming up as the US with Washington.

The new update seems to have broke it a little, it seems. The icons for the unique units/buildings are black, the portrait alternates between other leaders, as does the civ icon, in the civ selection menu.

only the safavid doesnt benefit from the 1 culture per city :/

I'm playing with a lot of mods. The thing is that the Liberty tree works fine for other civilizations, other mod civilizations as well. The problem only occurs with Persia.

I have the same problem as AzeriFighter95. Liberty doesn't grant any bonus culture in Safavid cities. Or well it does for one turn when it's first enacted. If I toggle it off and then on in the IGE I get the extra culture for one turn before it disappears again.

hmm, I don't think that is a problem from within the mod. the lua and xml are relatively simple. Maybe you are playings with other lua heavy mods?

the seconds policy trees first policy (i think in english its independence) doesnt provide 1 culture in safavid cities. normally its supposed to provide 1 culture in every city but this doesnt work with safavid civilization. would you fix that or could some1 tell me how i can fix it? has it something to do with xml?

hmm, I'm having the same problem now. I can't pinpoint the source of the error, the lua is in place and so is the xml, all the tags are right. I'll try to fix this as soon as I can.
