Good stuff. I do not suppose it matters as you do not have paratroopers but we had a different version of the Staaldak. BTW if you are making the proper Staaldak yourself, it was based on the British MkII/MkIII helmet designs. Thanks for the map name.

All SA produced R1s had black plastic 'cycolac' furniture, only the first imported 'contract' rifles made by FN in early 60s prior to beginning of local production had wooden furniture.

Unless I've stuffed up the headgear randomisation most of the troopers should be wearing boonies, I'm OK with the occasional helmet.

SADF is set in 1970 but they using helmets? We rocked boonies, my guy. Also the R1 needs to have some wooden furniture on it.

Other than those things, i do quite like this, Border War is super rare, almost non existent, for the Arma community

ANC added. 4 of 6 planned Congo factions now done. In new year I'll be adding UN forces (Indians and Irish - easy) and the Simbas (very hard)

Yeah it's added now in the latest factions. I'll rework the earlier mercenary faction to use the FWA M2 FAL.

The Armée Nationale Congolaise will be the next faction.

Yeah I know about FWA and GM, I use both outside this mod. Prob is no mod set gives me what I need for this without introducing a lot of redundancy, duplication and bloat. I don't use 90% of CUP but if I gave it up for GM I'd be losing assets that I do use and wouldn't really gain anything as there is actually very little context relevant stuff in GM that wasn't in CUP anyway. So it would be a net loss.

My hope is I can beg for donations for the relatively few assets I need without needing to go huge with mod sizes! Or find a modeller/collaborator with an interest in obscure wars, that would be great. I can dream anyway!

I'm back working on this, mulling over a few ideas.

@NF_F16 the units in some factions have randomised headgear. It processes on scenario start so they will appear to be without headgear when placed in the editor but are fine in play.

Btw I did notice one issue/bug, most if not all units in the mod that are supposed to have headgear don't. I assumed that because of the presence of headgear in the preview but not in the editor

@NF_F16 Ogaden is an interesting idea, I'll look at some references and see if it's doable. PAIGC in Guinea-Bissau is on my to do list already. I'd love to do a Portuguese faction as well but vehicles and aircraft would be a problem (lack of relevant assets). I might create a mini-faction for them (infantry only, and same for SADF)

It's going to depend on the faction which gets used more. I will lean heavily on CUP for factions that used a lot of soviet vehicles for instance.

that's true, would be nice to possibly see a separate mod in the future utilizing ARMSCOR / CLV AML-90s in place of elands + the CLV unimogs are the same ones used by rhdoesia at some point i believe, all the RSF faction mods ive seen dont really do the infantry much justice or have really scattered random stuff for vehicles not making use of the CLV assets + prarie fire

Yeah the infantry are doable, the problem lies in the vehicles and aircraft, Eland, Ferret, Alouette, Hawker Hunters, Rhodesian mpvs etc which either don't exist or would require multiple mods as prerequisites. Similar problem with Portuguese and SADF. Once you move beyond US and Soviet equipment the available asset pool for cold war era equipment is surprisingly shallow.

rhodesia's definitely possible to imitate especially since you have prarie fire loaded, the land rovers could be used + laughing lizard's brushstroke alongside the p37 perhaps from s&s or p58 from spearpoint if you were to add it as a dependency

It's unlikely I'll ever be able to take Prairie Fire out, I use it a lot in making this mod. Apart from being a wonderful DLC it's the best single source for a lot of weapons that future factions in this mod are going to use, older weapons that don't exist in CUP or most other mods. I am conscious of mod requirements and determined to not add anymore though.
