@R³ ; Thank you for this inspirational message, such nice words are really welcome.
@Sevyrs; Thank you for your tipps and also the words.
I will point out in a different game, a different genre, a massive ship that acts as a carrier (fighter class ships), a tender (operates patrol boats), packs capital class weapons, and fleet command facilities would be referred to as a "Space Control Ship" SCS. In SE that would probably include a few mining ships and refinery / assembly facilities. You are getting pretty close to that here. =)
It's absolutely not a *bad* thing to have a host of unfinished projects. You learn more from some of those than you do from the stuff you actually wrap up. Just take every one of them as a stepping stone to something better. And if you get bored it's perfectly fine to just lay down the pen and take a break.
You're doing this for fun. And you're pretty damn good at it.
I don't usually look at builds, much less comment on them, but this is honestly one of the cleanest and best looking designs I've seen in the 6+ years I've been playing this game.
Kudos to you my man. Great work. Definitely stealing some design clues from you for my survival builds.
Also great fleet carrier, Sevyrs, I will inspire my future carrier after this beautiful vessel.
Maybe take a look at other creators work and see if you can incorporate some of their techniques into your own repertoire and build up from there. You don't have to copy them but learning how they do things can't hurt.
Plus if you're concerned about time, well, the more you build, the faster you get. I build modules so that I can throw a ship together quickly. It helps.
I already have a new one I wanna try out.
I sometimes hear from people that seeing this kinda stuff makes others want to quit SE altogether but for me, seeing good stuff makes me want to strive for better. Seeing Major Jon, Omega, and many others inspired me to keep pushing. Thanks to that I have gotten better and even enjoy some small recognition in the community.
I really think that if the developers keep at it, we can really get a great game and the constructs can be out of this world.
