I meantioned it earlier - they are supposed to be Ice Guard support - and since they do not have mounts, Matriarchs will not have them too. As original author decided.
Also, is it possible for you to add the same mask for them as the Iceguard?

The structure of the icons/cards is independent from the game itself, I have no idea how it might break

Any mod adding a new unit has to be patched to properly work with SFO.
Tho I usually play with SFO myself, I have no knowledge of how to properly balance units for it.
But if anyone wanna make patch for SFO - you are welcome, Sarvente gave permissions for it.
Sorry, it seems the download failed, so I downloaded it again and the game started normally. Sorry for the trouble.
New game or existing save? It worked for me either ways, but I cannot guarantee the same for any load order
I do try not to touch the original balance of the mod, as I am not the owner of the original.
However, in this case, after comparing them to other heroes, I do agree they need a nerf.
I have updated their numerical values, fixed the positive/negative issue with recruitment/maintenance cost and extended skill dump to lvl 60

Each mod file does have a separate record in its header, indicating for which game version it was originally created. Launcher simply checks it and drops yellow mark if file value is less than current version value. It does not care if it is ACTULLY not compatible.
However, if it was created for an older version it does not mean it does not function.
Mainly mods do need updates because CA does change tables structure. AFAIK tables used in this mod were not modified in the latest patch.
So unless someone will report a crash or a bug with the mod, which I can reproduce, I see no point of updating it - "As it just works (TM)".
Is it not working with 6.0?
After some lengthy test, I found this mod is conflicting with the corrupted landmark mod. When I load both mod, it will cause the wrong model in campaign.
Each unit/item in the game is just three files - if we wanna simplify it.
variantmeshdefinition defines which models (meshes) to use
rigid_model and wsmodel defines the actual mesh
and textures which are actually applied on meshes
If one of the first two is overwritten, you will see models mismatch.
Also the problem is, that the very same rigid_model or wsmodel may be used by different variantmeshdefinitions.
For example, charioteer archers of High Elves are actually using hef spearmen body.
So if you change the body file of the spearman, it will also affect chariot archers.
Thus ideally when you are changing a unit or create a new one, you wanna use completely new rigid_model or wsmodel files, even if the are vanialla - just by creating a copy and renaming them. This might not be the case here - to be fair, models were fine, so I have not actually checked.
Make sure your friend is not using original version of the mod
May be, there were some minor patches since I updated it. Can you please try to start game with this mod only and check if it still happens? If so, I will update it a bit later - currently not at home
