The last 2 images have my reshade settings, if this still isn't enough to make it work I'll have to investigate deeper, I also had trouble making it work about a year ago or so but it wasn't that hard I believe.

Hey @Sternradio:
I am sorry for my late reply.
I have attached my settings in reshade for you and anyone who wants to add it by themselves before I make the next version.
I didn't change too many settings and I am not sure we even have the same rtgi version, since from what I know there are 2 you can get.
I have the paid level 1 version from MartysMods | Pascal that I got from his Patreon/Discord.

I still use your preset with some little changes for myself. Love it, thank you! I also tried fiddling with RTGI, but i somehow can't get an acceptable depth buffer to work with it in uboat. Is this a nvidia issue? Did you get it to work?

So far I haven't come across any pink smoke in my new campaign, but I heard comnplaints about this somewhere else and I am starting doubt that the reshade is causing the pink smoke.

However I am working on a new version using Pascal Gilcher's Ray traced global illumination, I will not include the ray tracing effect itself as this might open me up to legal trouble so you'll have to get it yourself when the new version releases. This is not be mandatory of couse, but will make your game look prettier

Oh damn, that's a very specific scenario, I'll have to check that out when I get to shoot down another plane. Did you try disabling some effects to stop the visual glitch? that's the only help I can offer before publishing a new version.
If someone happens to find out which effect is the cause before I make another version feel free to let me know here.

Smoke from downed Planes is pink for some reason

Try pausing the game, hitting "home" or your reshade hotkey, go to the add-ons tab, select your game resolution, save and refresh

I don't know much about reshade behaviour with win11 but I have had similiar problems like you encountered with other games, what you mentioned usually works sometimes, maybe verify files and try then? or verify files and install reshade again as administrator? or try to launch Uboat directly from the .exe file maybe? that's about everything else I usually try

Tested it with WIN11 and I have to rename reshades dxgi.dll to d3d11.dll. If I do not rename that file, launcher will crash. But when renamed, it works for one or two times starting the game.
Then, it is not working anymore, even with renamed file. I have to delete reshade and install it again in order to get it working again..

hm...?
