Not unless multiplayer build 42 pulls me back into wanting to play, or some modder reads the description and tackles it.
drshahramanvariazar 2 Feb @ 4:59am
build 42?
Burryaga  [author] 3 Jan @ 12:26pm
To answer directly, no, the effect is not dependent on equipped clothing.
Burryaga  [author] 3 Jan @ 12:25pm
I've never heard that reported by anyone else, but I would assume something went fairly severely wrong on that server. You can contact me on Discord if you want some help trying to figure it out, but it is not normal for this mod to stop working in a time-dependent manner; in my experience, only a mod conflict has ever explained any issues with this mod behaving as expected, so your report has no precedent, and I have no immediate suggestions about what could be causing the issue for you. I am also Burryaga on Discord. Feel free to add me.

Recently stopped working on our dedicated server, even though no mods were changed.
Hotkey and animation work fine, but the effect is gone.
Is the effect dependent on the equipped clothings or something like that?

Idk much about mods at all to be honest, but after 2 days of configuring and testing, having accessible fields at top of load order, with act undead at the very bottom, seems to keep my character from going invisible- without the assistance from debug menu.(currently playing on GeForce now, so its not an option.) but it runs with true crawl, crouch, and zombie camouflage,. So there's that, if it can help anyone else out.. This mod is a work of art, and I want others to be able to experience. Thank you!!!
Burryaga  [author] 8 Dec, 2024 @ 12:23am
I recommend disabling your mods in small groups on a duplicate of your world in order to identify the conflict precisely. That is not normal mod behavior.
nfsracer2 7 Dec, 2024 @ 7:47pm
idk why but sometimes my character will suddenly stop moving and get stuck while in zombie mode and i have to turn around a bunch to get him moving again. also sometimes the hotkey or the right click option to act undead just straight up doesnt work, i suspect it may have to do with the lifestyle mod as when you perform a lifestyle act while pretending to be undead, your charcter just freezes in place and you have to reload the game to get him unstuck
jerald 5 Dec, 2024 @ 10:18pm
yo this mod is op asf, i literally got into a hospital full of zombies and even after i stopped acting they still wouldnt attack me, only some did 11/10:steamhappy:

Cheers, survivor!
Burryaga  [author] 5 Nov, 2024 @ 11:09am
Also, in testing, I too run Fancy and Brutal Handwork, True Actions Sitting and Lying and Dancing, and True Crawl - and I've found True Crouch also worked with that set, though I don't use it regularly. Of course I cannot confirm compat with the endless pose mods that exist (all depends on how they're written); can only comment on a case by case basis. But I use many of the mods you mentioned successfully alongside this one, and just thought I would mention that I have never found any effect of load order in terms of where Act Undead falls in that list, and have no technical reason to believe it would matter.
TheLazyPotato 5 Nov, 2024 @ 11:06am
Ah, alright. Cheers!
Burryaga  [author] 5 Nov, 2024 @ 11:02am
Nah I wasn't taking it offensively, just commenting that on a technical level, this mod has its own animations. It does not overwrite vanilla ones the way some animation mods would; it uses a more careful, self-contained approach. For another mod to conflict with Act Undead'a animations, it would need to literally create an ActUndead directory for ITS animations AND use the same filenames I used - which is not likely. So animation files specifically are not likely to be the cause of any conflicts between this mod and others (though other sources of conflict exist, as I mentioned before).
TheLazyPotato 5 Nov, 2024 @ 9:02am
My apologies, I should've clarified better.
I meant that the reorder helps when you have numerous mods that affect animations.

Personally running fancy & brutal handwork, dancing, true actions, true crawl, and true crouching. Some pose mods, too. On the lua side, I've got SSC.

Was just throwing it out there for any fellows that may have had the same issue as me. Nothing at fault on your end with this one, just me and any fellows who impulsively get tons of mods lol
Burryaga  [author] 5 Nov, 2024 @ 7:44am
(Disappearing can also happen if another mod fights about the correct player animation state while one animation is active.)
Burryaga  [author] 5 Nov, 2024 @ 7:42am
I don't think it's True Crawl... I don't need to disable True Crawl stealth to avoid going invisible. There may be other mods in your list fighting with True Crawl about your state, but Act Undead should cancel when you crawl, thus preventing them from fighting.

As for load order, I would have to see your config to make sense of how reordering helped you, but this mod should not be affected on a technical level. It only contains two kinds of files that can theoretically lead to conflict: Lua, and animation files. But Lua files load alphabetically and animation files are in a special ActUndead subfolder to prevent other mods from using the same ones. I'd be surprised if there were animation file conflicts.

What isn't surprising is reports of disappearing - that happens when Act Undead tries to hide you and other mods irrationally fight with it because they aren't tracking whether they should be disabling Ghost Mode in a careful way.
TheLazyPotato 5 Nov, 2024 @ 6:24am
Hello gents, I bring good news!
If you were having issues with other mods like me (True crawl, true actions, etc.) then placing this mod at the bottom of your loadlist/near the bottom should fix it.

However, for True Crawl, it seems you'll just go invisible if you have TC's stealth mode enabled. Remember to enable server mode, too! Otherwise, everything works like it's meant to.

(Original comment deleted due to misreading the post below.)

I do not have plans to work on compatibility support for every mod that Braven makes, as the need for doing so is a consequence of coding practices inherent to his mods in the first place. I only patched support for Braven's Camouflage because of the obvious popularity of combining that mod with this one.

Honestly, more than one of Braven's mods could be patched independently to improve compatibility with not only the broader community but the vanilla game, but that is beyond the scope of Act Undead and would require a committed modder to go through Braven's catalogue with his permission to refactor a lot of work.
ᛗᚨᚾᛞᚨᛚᛟᚱᛖ 19 Oct, 2024 @ 2:09pm
Hi, I have the same probleme with your mod and true crawl

When "my little braven" is activated, if I crawl or if I act undead, my character disapear like a ghost
Burryaga  [author] 4 Oct, 2024 @ 1:23am
Kinda beyond my interests to be honest, but you are welcome to refactor my work toward that endeavor!
Maples9909 3 Oct, 2024 @ 9:12pm
hey PLEASE add like a ninja mode or stealth mode same as this but sneaking like Sam Fisher or Solid Snake. same everything just like a locked crouch walk or something but still invisible to zeds.
Burryaga  [author] 23 Sep, 2024 @ 8:25am
Also, while you are pretending to be a zombie, you will occasionally moan, and nearby zombies will approach the sound of you moaning, but won't yet be sure you're human unless you give yourself away some other way.

All of these settings have associated sandbox options.
Burryaga  [author] 23 Sep, 2024 @ 8:23am
Various things can get you spotted. Being too close to them can get you spotted. Moving faster than a walk can get you spotted. Climbing fences or walls, shoving, and attacking can get you spotted. Bleeding can get you smelled (and thus spotted). And being spotted recently will mean other zombies nearby are no longer fooled until you can hide for the time defined in your sandbox options.
SpiriT 23 Sep, 2024 @ 6:58am
Could someone please explain to me why zombies sometimes chase me and sometimes don't? I can't quite understand. Is it just distance or should I follow a specific pattern in order to avoid attention?
The United States of America 22 Sep, 2024 @ 7:56pm
undead skill tree ++ we need it <3 I fucking love your mod btw
Burryaga  [author] 21 Sep, 2024 @ 5:08am
The required mod is linked in the page description! I recommend starting there!

Burryaga  [author] 15 Sep, 2024 @ 12:00pm
I have not tested this with True Crouch at all, but that could be an incompatibility. It is only tested with True Crawl, Braven's Camouflage, and Improved Stealth -- not True Crouch. If I find time I can look into extending compatibility to True Crouch.
Svnsh1ne 15 Sep, 2024 @ 11:57am
its compatible with true crounching?
Svnsh1ne 15 Sep, 2024 @ 11:29am
I'm using "stealth" and "braven", I use "crawl" in server mode and everything works fine. When I add "act" the "crawl" stops working. Is it a loading order issue?
CSI48 8 Sep, 2024 @ 6:24am
yes , Knox 'Country'. lol Not County. it's funny what an lone R can do.
Burryaga  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 7:13pm
You're looking for Braven's Camouflage if you want to use zombie guts for stealth. This mod is compatible with it (which may be appealing because it has no acting animations of its own).
Bailey 2 Sep, 2024 @ 1:37pm
Make a separate mod that lets you gut zombies and use there guts as a disguise (like TWD) and add a chance of getting sick from doing it to much, you could also add things like the whispers masks that make it so you wont get sick but you have to walk more like a zombie
Orange Gaming 28 Aug, 2024 @ 1:38am
Great mod. I use this mod a lot as it is very helpful for stealth as it allows you to literally 'Hide In Plain Sight'.
Burryaga  [author] 26 Aug, 2024 @ 12:05am
It's a fun combination!
scorpionblue 25 Aug, 2024 @ 7:18am
i might use this with the camoflauge i guess

That is, however, from a different movie, so it seems unlikely based on what little I know of programming.

For those of you who choose to play as Bill Murray, I cannot confirm that this mod won't spawn a teenager who accidentally kills you. I am so sorry if it does. Please report in the Bugs thread if this occurs. You might want to use my Advanced Death Log mod, just in case.
Freak 17 Aug, 2024 @ 6:07am
But what if I'm Bill Murray? Will I get shot?

The default dedicated menu uses Z. You can also use the emote wheel.
Damien 12 Aug, 2024 @ 7:48am
To act undead do i have to press e like for an emote or its an other letter of the keyboard? Ty
TheLazyPotato 8 Aug, 2024 @ 4:00pm
Got it, thanks!
Burryaga  [author] 8 Aug, 2024 @ 10:55am
This mod is explicitly designed not to fight other mods unless its special mode is active, but not all mods *can* work that way and not all modders know how to make their mods work that way.
