@falloutdudebro FCS doesn't have the ability to duplicate existing squad members as they are. I can only create conditions (in this mod's case having gene seeds and enough cats) that triggers a base visit to spawn characters from the game's index of characters. If you want to duplicate characters in your squad as is, then you would have to manually copy the player's platoon file (Nameless_0.platoon) and replace an exisiting empty platoon (ie Nameless_1.platoon).

@falloutdudebro Technically no. What this mod does is it creates copies of existing NPCs with high stats and allows you to recruit them. You could see a plastic surgeon and save the preset of your characters then import that preset onto a recruited character from by this mod.

@JediKnightSky There is no limitation with scorchlanders, I’ve just been busy with other tasks and haven’t had the motivation to add scorchlanders yet. As for converting existing squad members to skeletons, this is not possible. With FCS, I can only spawn characters from the game’s index of characters and cannot race swap a character into a Skeleton. This is why characters from this mod spawn with existing stats, while ignoring the current stats of the NPC. Closest substitute is creating Skeleton copies of existing characters with fixed stats then create dialogue conditions to get that character to spawn.

Actually have to ask, how hard would it be to make something like this, that lets you convert organic beings into skeletons? Is that even possible?

Because that would be a real interesting way to take a powerfully trained up organic character and take them past simply being cyber limbed. They would be full on ghost in the shell.

Very interesting idea. I dont know if its some limitation preventing you doing Scorchlanders, but if I had one for the wishlist it would be Bo and a second would be Yamdu. Typically you have to do a lot for one of those two factions to get their special recruit, and being able to clone them would be cool.

Id even be fine with a clone that came out Greenlander as long as they had the skills of the original still.

Skadi: The world state used by the Geneticist to unlock the dialogue option to create Holy Phoenix's gene seed out of nothing is Holy phoenix is dead. So unfortunately losing him while imprisoned might not trigger that.

Rand0mR0b: Does your character talking to the prisoner have medical supplies (not first aid or splint kits) in its inventory? Do you get the dialogue option with any NPC at all? If not, then are you using the latest version? If so, then maybe there is a mod conflict.

Well, i can't bring back Phoenix now since i made an import. Another problem is i can't get the gene seed for Phoenix from the geneticist now.

Update: I built three cages all owned by my faction,and I still do not get the dialog option to harvest a gene seed for a paladin, shek invincible and bugmaster.I even went and kidnapped a skeleton bandit, and samurai and same thing

Rand0mR0b: The game needs to recognize you as their captor. Try imprisoning them in a cage owned by your faction. Also, dialogue won’t trigger if you are allied with them as harvesting is a hostile act.

Skadi: Bosses won’t be as easy to harvest compared to regular NPCs and will require more than simple brute force. To not spoil for anyone else reading, you can find out the criteria by opening the mod up in FCS. Also bosses can only have their gene seeds harvested once.

I can't get the gene seed from a Five invincible, paladin or The Bug Master and I've made sure I have medical supplies on me but no dialog pops up to take their gene seed

@Rand0mR0b you have to imprison the NPC and have medical supplies on you. I recently updated it so you can collect this from more NPCs, but this is mostly for mad scientist roleplaying purposes. Only high level NPCs like Skeleton Bandits will give you usable seeds. The lab is meant to produce high level NPCs for mid to endgame content.

Import is required if you’ve already explored this region of the map.

If you want to add your own races and NPCs that can be spawned, then it’s recommended you add the dialogue outcome on a separate NPC instead of this mod’s Geneticist in case a mod update conflicts with your edit.
