great plane but how do i use the autopilot or is there one?
NeatNaut  [author] 2 Jul, 2024 @ 3:19am
3) Yeah that is mostly because of trim and the high speed. I would highly recommend using the airbrakes (key [3]), they help slow it down. Also, feel free to go to 0% with the throttle, the plane can glide just fine.

Thanks for the report, if there is anything else you think could be fixed or you need help with, just ask :)
NeatNaut  [author] 2 Jul, 2024 @ 3:19am
1) I would recommend using both the stabilizers or trimming the plane. As for the stalling - you are flying the plane how it's not meant to be flown. This is not an average stormworks plane, it is built to stall when the drag is higher than the lift value. This is usually around 15° of pitch at 200 kts and 0° flap. But thanks for pointing this out, I don't think I've actually specified this in the description, so I will do that right now :D

2) The alt. hold isn't really strong, but if you just give it a push and make it not fall from the sky, the plane will stabilize. Additionally, the alt. hold doesn't act unless the desired altitude is within reach (500 ft). If it is not, I would recommend hand flying it near the altitude or using the alt. change mode.

the controls of this aircraft (as well as the executive variant i can see you've uploaded) seem to be... what's the word... unstable? it's a struggle to enter a stable turn without stalling the alarm / triggering alarms.

additionally, the altitude hold seems to like pointing the nose toward the ground even when i'm below the alt it needs to climb to (i try to set around 3000ft) so this might also worth be looking into.

lastly, trying to land with the config you've specified seems to be damn near impossible. that said, i realize i'm yet to try trimming the plane out, so will give that a shot.

if these could please be looked into, this would be much appreciated :)

you should use UATC :P

Super great plane man really appreciate all the hard work and time put into it

I will now use this door for the great underground room in which I keep these intellectual and constructive comments from people like you :D
NeatNaut  [author] 29 Jun, 2024 @ 9:55am
Now, we have a complex door, but it’s not complicated enough to use, so, I add a lock and a system for it to be disabled from the bridge of the ship it is in. Then, I also realise a good, strong door uses hydraulics, so I make a complex system with engine-driven hydraulics. Don’t forget, the engine needs a complicated startup procedure! And as a final touch, I also like to add a buzzer that sounds when the door is being opened/closed.
NeatNaut  [author] 29 Jun, 2024 @ 9:55am
@force A tratt, Yees, I do, in fact, enjoy making complex doors. I usually first start with a set number switchbox connected from the button to the pivot. Then, I usually make that button a push button, only so that I can make the door even more complex with a push-to-toggle block. Then, I prepare my set number switchbox for my next addition/redesign: I make the door first slide out and then slide to the side, timing it perfectly using capacitors. For extra measure, I also make the door anchored via a hardpoint when it’s closed.

fuck efficiency

more buttone = more fun :steamhappy:
Captain 29 Jun, 2024 @ 8:53am
Force a tratt. You are the type of person who receives someone else's work for free and still bitch about it. It you don't like it....don't use it!

If it is not to your liking, guess what. This is a building game......build you own build.
CitrusS5 29 Jun, 2024 @ 7:59am
youre the type of person to crap on others builds just because it wasnt started in one second
force A tratt 29 Jun, 2024 @ 7:36am
i bet your the type of person to make a door harder to build then a car.
NeatNaut  [author] 29 Jun, 2024 @ 7:21am
Then don’t use it. I won’t let workshop people dictate how I should build my creations, fact is, I just like it this way. Some people like it, and some don’t, that doesn’t mean that it being over-engineered is something inherently bad.
force A tratt 28 Jun, 2024 @ 2:37pm
this plane is so over-engineered that its just not efficient to use.
NeatNaut  [author] 28 Jun, 2024 @ 1:35am
Did you stall the plane?
hawkgau8 27 Jun, 2024 @ 2:55pm
i really love this plane. though i had problems with the prop vanishing on my screen. I would love to know if this is only a me thing or everyone is having this happen
NeatNaut  [author] 27 Jun, 2024 @ 2:13pm
@pugen, Opal shader, find it on Nexusmods
NeatNaut  [author] 27 Jun, 2024 @ 2:13pm
@EightHorse8357, That would be super difficult to set up with such a small plane, so unfortunately, no.
pugen 27 Jun, 2024 @ 12:13pm
how do you get render distance that far
EightHorse8357 27 Jun, 2024 @ 9:26am

Probably unfortunately won't be able to change it now
NeatNaut  [author] 25 Jun, 2024 @ 12:21pm
@NT-242, Yeah that is true. They are optional during taxiing (the checklist that you found it in), but I forgot to put them in the take-off checklist.
VolishTenis 25 Jun, 2024 @ 11:40am
Nice
Diadem V 25 Jun, 2024 @ 10:11am
[V.I] "How much lore will you be putting behind this vehicle?"
"Yes."
NT-242 25 Jun, 2024 @ 10:07am
note on the landing lights on the checklist that should not be optional, irl procedures require you to have them on while on the runway and below transition altitudes
Jim the Pilot 25 Jun, 2024 @ 8:52am
