Compatible with 2025.1?

@Shinpuren: Please refer to some reliable source. If you are right, i am very thankful for that correction. But honestly, it wouldnt make sense to just illuminate the lines. Anyway, im curious what you have found out!

Check the discord, I have posted more data there.

@Urfish

You do not even specify in your mod description "what periscope" you are using as reference.
The URL I have linked is accurate and uses original documents and scientific reports.

There were multiple attack and night periscopes and they all had different graticules. It is very likely that you either saw a simplified duplicate for educational purposes (museum, etc) or you saw a different type of periscope.

The IIA and the VII had different attack periscopes and some VII were later equipped with "post-war" periscopes such as the ASR C/3 or the ASR/6.

Btw, the website is from one of the former UBOAT game developers who sadly died a few months ago...

I am very sure the website is correct.

@Shinpuren the description seems based on a report from uboat.net . It is not fully correct on this page. I saw construction plans for this, it was all on a single glass plate. So when illuminated, also the numbers where.

I also hope that a version updated for 2024.1 will be available soon. Really need illuminated graticule!

Hi there, any news regarding the update on 2024.1?
Shinpuren 25 Aug, 2024 @ 6:38am
It's incorrect to call this "realistic".

There is plenty of material about the StaS C/2 and other German periscopes.
The graticules in the periscope were illuminated, but the numbers were not.

Visit: http://tvre.org/en/aiming-with-the-periscope

for real periscope description.

Will this mod be compatible with the current release 2024? It's the best sights mod imo

You have a output.log?
Rudi Mentär 4 Jul, 2024 @ 11:43pm
hm, does not seem to work for me. No illumination for me at night
DarkRaven 27 Jun, 2024 @ 3:36pm
Cool beans. I think this is pretty awesome and was concerned that arctic missions may be negatively impacted from the long sunlight hours, if it was on a strict timer.
Urfisch  [author] 26 Jun, 2024 @ 11:40pm
No, it does not modify FOV so far. But this might come ;) we "just" changed the overlays to original ones. The illumination depends on nighttime. If the sun has set, a luminous material shines on the recticle, therefore this greenish color.
DarkRaven 26 Jun, 2024 @ 11:01pm
Does this modify the magnification levels / FOV of the periscope from vanilla, is the graticule calibrated to the FOV and is the sight illumination dependent on time, light level, sub lighting or something else?

Thx

Ahh too bad. Would make this beta near perfect. :p
MrKartoffel  [author] 26 Jun, 2024 @ 3:19pm
It does not work with the 2024 release. Currently, we don't have a working modding SDK with the unstable version. We have to wait till the official release of 2024, sorry!
EriTainment 26 Jun, 2024 @ 3:14pm
Ah wait, so this doesn't work (yet) with 2024? :,)
EriTainment 26 Jun, 2024 @ 2:54pm
Ihr seid wahrlich die besten! <3
