I tried Carbon Mod, but I can't mess with it.
The blocks are not airtight like normal light armor blocks. I tried this by substituting them in savegame sbc with light armor blocks. The descriptions in the file are neither similar to the normal armor blocks, nor their angles are (eg. slopes are wrong aligned after substitution). It would've been helpful if "LargeBlockArmor" is substituted with eg. "CB_CarbonLargeBlock" at the beginning instead of completely new names.
Also, I cannot colour them. It is VERY hard to see the right rotation even with lights on because they're extremely dark and with no texture on them. All I see is ... BLACK.
The set is also incomplete, compairing with actual armor blocks. Using ramps again instead of armor corners & slopes?...

The idea is nice, but I'm sorry, I must unsubscribe at this level of development.

I would use this mod if it didn't add an overpowered thruster to the game. Is there any way to just get a carbon fiber mod with basic armor and construction blocks?

If you don't mind, Could I make them DX-11 ready and re-upload them as DX-11.

I won't move any model or texture changes and don't need the source files since I have a tool that can automaticlly insert the needed code into the xml's.

Yep I finally found how it works, modding space engineer is sometimes very hard, it's buggy, and some documentation is missing.and I Was busy I had lot of work, have now 2 jobs.
Anyway, I really started working on it yesterday. I'm doing my very best this time to finish it in less than a week. I'm very sorry for the delay. You will be happy in a few days ! ;)

And yes things apearing black with no texture is a DX11 Thing :)

Thay are pure black with no texture if you have ticked DX11.........If you are still in DX9 then they are as Pvt. Blizz has stated........If and when there is a DX11 update for this mod you will be able to have texture in DX11..........They still function in DX11 but they look black.

They have a texture. And no, they are not pure black, they are colorable. Did you just look at the thumbnail and asume that is the mod? Look at the actual pictures and description.

Lionel would you be willing to please make a varient of this mod that to make the carbon plates it instead uses carbon ? its the resource refined from carbon ore in the carbon materials mod. we have the diamond bonded glass windows on my server and be good we could also use the carbon for this. makes total sense to =)

How's the future plans look for this? Also, I was curious, how do these pieces compare to the Graphene armor? I accidentally went nose-first in my fighter into a cargo ship at 150m/s (ship didnt visually load until I was right on it), and I happily noted my ship was, at least structurally, fine - and it's primarily graphene armor with carbon-armor ramps and corners for the nose.

Although... I admit.. if you made the same shapes he has already, Bean, then these could be very complimentary mods. Lionel's would be a very light armor, but a smidge fragile, perfect for spy ships or very fast interceptor fighters. Beans armor would be good for medium sized fighters meant to take damage and dish it out. Also, if either of you would like, I can show you the fighter I'm modifying/building right now. The two slopes (3x1 ramp, and the inverted 3x1 ramp) that Lionel has are perfect for my ship, but I need tough armor, not necessarily lighter and more fragile than light armor.
