@pickle - Apologies about that! I believe I may have accidentally deleted your original comment... The trash button on mobile is pretty easy to mis-press & I know I've done it a couple times when going through the comments.

As far as myhouse.wad, I've never played it, but did watch a video essay on it. It sounds like a really cool mod! After watching the video essay, I did actively add a fun quirk into the full neighborhood release (should be coming out this week) that somewhat resemble it. If you're a fan of the myhouse.wad mod, I hope you enjoy the full neighborhood release.

As far as this specific house goes though, resemblance to the myhouse.wad mod is purely coincidental lol. The primary source of inspiration for this house was actually just a random IRL house.. Was browsing random neighborhoods in streetview, saw one that I really liked, and modeled the facade to resemble it. The interior was designed based on constraints of the exterior facade.

but this is literally just a remake of myhouse.wav
profsticky 14 Aug, 2024 @ 11:26am
i could've sworn i commented on this because i got a notification for it

@kiTe - Good catch! Never realized that feature existed! I will add info for it..

This update was just some super minor things in preparation for the full neighborhood release.. For all the houses, the changes really were limited to the following:
-Lighting color has been changed to be warmer
-Addition of doorbell/smoke detector in houses that didn't already have one
-Super minor bug fixes
kiTe 13 Aug, 2024 @ 8:08pm
Teardown modders use the change notes to note any changes - IMPOSSIBLE

Anticipating release of 24 oak this weekend. The house itself is one of the more modest ones on the map.

I tend to work a couple houses ahead (this provides ample time for testing and adjustments), so the release of this house actually corresponds with the completion of a completely different house.. In this case, 28 Oak was just completed.
lokkin4nw 27 Jul, 2024 @ 7:21am
im excited for this one it seems to be taking a little longer so we should all be in for a treat:cool_eol:
reinhardthunter982 26 Jul, 2024 @ 8:19am
do you really work at a home owners insurance
reinhardthunter982 26 Jul, 2024 @ 8:18am
jjboy gets it
JJ 25 Jul, 2024 @ 1:56pm
is 24 oak done? also its already passed but if its done it would've been funny to release it on the 24th
Salad Fries  [author] 24 Jul, 2024 @ 11:29am
16 & 22 oak are what remains. The red box for 22 oak has been replaced with a super messy copy of 24 oak in the screenshots (using it as a template).

Currently finishing up 28 oak.
JJ 24 Jul, 2024 @ 11:04am
wheres the 12th house you mind me asking, theres only 1 red box on the screenshots
Salad Fries  [author] 24 Jul, 2024 @ 7:06am
Of the 12 houses, 9 are complete, 1 is in progress (anticipate completion around end of month).

So far, each house has taken approximately a month to finish.

My goal is end of September for project completion, but the next 2 months are going to be particularly busy for me, so dont be surprised if that goal slips a bit.
JJ 23 Jul, 2024 @ 9:20pm
the start of next year? theres like two houses being worked on left
cj_tornado 23 Jul, 2024 @ 5:42pm
make a map thats just oak street with all the houses of the collection
WINDOWS10 23 Jul, 2024 @ 3:01pm
ok thanks @lanos
lanos 23 Jul, 2024 @ 12:50pm
@WINDOWS10 he plans to combine all the houses into one maps once all 12 are released. By the look of things, that will be around the start of next year.
WINDOWS10 22 Jul, 2024 @ 6:55pm
hey salad is it possible to make all of oak street with all the houses
Paled 16 Jul, 2024 @ 11:39pm
i like the "halloween decor " under the stairs
JJ 15 Jul, 2024 @ 5:58pm
i used to work in a hospital, expect laundry chutes, oxygen delivery systems, food elevators, even tube mail delivery and the strangest mashup of all interior design between the hospitals building date and present day, pretty much most older american hospitals was a cross shape in the 60s that got endlessly added onto
a urban loft sounds like the least interesting one, teardown isin't exactly missing out on the converted warehouse vibe and its just more residential, hospitals have different departments but apartments look kinda samey
hosptials also have super interesting basements (mine had a tunnel to a basement that didint exist anymore, this is a project that would probably be best done with WAY2GO's help, bright valley correctional center is pretty good accuracy wise

@jjboy - I have a couple potential ideas.. nothing set in stone yet & its likely a few will be attempted & subsequently abandoned before one is successful enough to actually be finished/uploaded to the workshop. Either way, here are the most likely potential ideas:

-suburban strip mall with a large grocery store, and some outparcel fast food restaurants (would be its own map, but would be in the same "world" as oak st)

-hospital (Sounds like a fun build & would present opportunities for some fun building systems & potential quest options)

-Historic urban warehouse converted into loft apartments (Toyed with the idea a long time ago, but may revisit the concept.. has some good potential quest & building systems options)

-natural gas power plant (thinking it would be fun to build a functional scripting heavy build similar in concept to Voxelstice's absolutely incredible Sivirsky Hydroelectric power plant)

An antenna would fit into the lore of 22 oak st. May or may not be included.
JJ 15 Jul, 2024 @ 10:40am
what kind of building are you thinking of for you next project? also, i feel like one house should have a radio antenna/tv antenna, i know you said its not really seen anymore but i feel like they appear rarely enough that you would find one in the neighborhood or the pole of one turned into something else, not those roof tv antennas but moreso those 20ft metal lattice poles some people have, many of them just had mercury lights slapped onto them and became lightpoles, also it would fit the houses each having individual stories, maybe the owner is a holdout
Salad Fries  [author] 14 Jul, 2024 @ 8:56pm
@Mahdi M - Unfortunately, no. I have no desire to recreate TV houses.

@warningnukesahead - Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning..
Every house has the ductwork modeled to every room + the associated equipment (furnace, air conditioning compressor, thermostat)
avg tf2 enjoyer 14 Jul, 2024 @ 8:29pm
whats a hvac system?
Mahdi M 14 Jul, 2024 @ 12:21pm
make family guy house
Salad Fries  [author] 14 Jul, 2024 @ 11:08am
@plague doctor - After oak street, I want to take a break from residential projects.. the next project is likely to be a single larger building.
Alex 14 Jul, 2024 @ 11:05am
I saw that you said you intended on making a new project after oak street was finished. I think that if you do make one, it should be a trailer park. I think it would be fun, and the buildings would be smaller so you could finish them faster.
Salad Fries  [author] 10 Jul, 2024 @ 5:38pm
@jjboy - I dont intend to make attic access in the remaining houses unfortunately. A ceiling mounted door is much more complex & requires scripting. The little access doors are much more simple.

@melon_pult - Im aiming for 3ish months, but thats not set in stone

@moesalma65 - Im currently working on a 4 bed, 3 bath house. I don't intend on creating a 5 bed house unfortunately.
moesalma65 10 Jul, 2024 @ 1:04pm
these maps are awesome, you should make a 5 bedroom 4 bathroom mansion
melon_pult 10 Jul, 2024 @ 11:08am
do you have any project ideas for when oak street is completed?
Chazbrew 10 Jul, 2024 @ 6:33am
What's the next house number going to be?
JJ 7 Jul, 2024 @ 6:49pm
another suggestion, i see you experimenting here and in 17 oak street with small access doors, i think the next house should have attic access
Alex 7 Jul, 2024 @ 8:22am
@salad fries the first time I saw that, I thought it was the smoke dectector so I lit it on fire
Alex 6 Jul, 2024 @ 1:19pm
@gunky yes it is it's like bent or something for me
[PR] XxN1GHTMAR1SHDEM0NxX 6 Jul, 2024 @ 11:50am
front door is not broken btw
Alex 6 Jul, 2024 @ 9:31am
The front door is broken btw. I don't know if it's because I'm playing on the experimental version, but could you see if you could fix it?
Salad Fries  [author] 5 Jul, 2024 @ 8:15pm
@strawberry_bunny - inside the house above the stairs?

This white block is part of the doorbell system.. It’s supposed to represent the “chime” part of the doorbell. Breaking it will disable the doorbell.
teardown_player 5 Jul, 2024 @ 7:19am
what is the white block next to the garage
Salad Fries  [author] 3 Jul, 2024 @ 8:50pm
@strawberry_bunny - While this house doesn't have a satellite dish, I anticipate that 22 Oak St that will.

@Neon - Will investigate.

@Meanwater - The goal of this project is indeed to create Oak St as a whole. The street includes 12 houses & a gas station. I have some pics of it's progress on my profile.
Marennocol 3 Jul, 2024 @ 7:59pm
this man is yet to make oak street as a whole
Landonj49 3 Jul, 2024 @ 3:21pm
i burned it
AwakenBug 3 Jul, 2024 @ 11:35am
THIS IS GOOD
chris1227 3 Jul, 2024 @ 10:49am
this house is actually real, i remember seeing this house on youtube, it was footage of someone getting their house robbed
