Maybe you could even look into those mods, and make a patch that has your crafts use some of those bits instead? Might help them all fit together better.
I really enjoyed your Beastforge mod — great concept and execution! I’ve gone ahead and uploaded a Spanish translation to help more players experience it. I’ve included full credit to you and a link to the original page.
If there’s any issue with this, feel free to let me know and I’ll take it down. Thanks again for sharing your work!
Best regards.
I saw this mod and I'm making a hunting clan run with this mod as it's basis, So I want to know which armors are best for tanks, crossbowmen, light infantary, etc.
Really enjoyed this mod. Wish you the best.
Whipped up some patches to add the scrap items to the creatures added by these two mods:
Radiant New Animal Subspecies

i know they have more coverage so it's not a full downgrade but it still feels strange since the mod talks about how strong leviathan carapace is
However, this could be a limitation of the game/engine for all I know.
Not to discount the mod or your hard work, this is just my 2c. The models and work that went into this is impressive to say the least.
Made you a video <3
and one question is posible to add another creature like waste tyrants to this mod?
Thanks for readin~! <3
thanks for the encouragment. Currently messing around with another mod to learn the mechanics and limitations but so far its fun
Though, I'd be able to live with the animal weapons being made with iron if it's not possible
there are a lot of weapons in the game already where there's absolutely no way you can make them with only iron or steel
they are SLOWLY on their way but sadly i cannot make them in a way that i would like...
Kenshi just dumps all weapon recipes into the weapon smithy and cannot put them into a separate smithy
and although crossbows made from beast parts are more than possible, they cannot have proper custom stats, since stats like bleeding rate are fixed and racial damage effects DO NOT WORK on crossbows cause it was never implemented for them...
plan now is to make animal inspired weapons but no monster hunter weapons, sadly
ohh, tired brain is now reading your comment correctly, that be nice! although, would sadly still be forged from Iron or steel (depending on your smithies grade)
will add that to my notes!
imagine a bonedog tooth spear
or a serrated axe made out of the beak of a Beakthing
ran into my first issue of trying to make a separate forge for the beastforge weapons...
the intent was to have the forges separate for each beast type
issue is now that the recipes for the weapons are forced into the standart forge AND the custom made one...
and i dont know how to keep them out of that list!
I did not yet encounter any issues with this mod but thats because i only used it for an hour and didnt encounter any of the beasts that they alter the lootlist for, due to, well, staying in the hub.
but i HEAVILY assume that some incompatabilities exist and a patch for this food mod and beastforge would be nice
I compiled a list of ideas for higher tiers of gear using resin made from Iron (t1), copper alloy (t2) and leviathan pearls (t3) but the list would break the 1000 character limit of steam comments.
essentially you have your character sort through the scraps and harden them with the respective tier of resin, the resins need the previous tier of resin to be made but the hardened scraps dont need their previous tier, always the base scraps, just using more of them, since you sort more thoroughly through the scraps.
the weapon grade scraps need additionally either steel plates (t1) or varing amounts of Steel bars (t2 and 3) to me made before being processed into weapons
and for the funnsies and early game access, a very basic camp grade station that uses just teeth or claws to make very basic early hunting weapons that only really work against beasts. But can be made with your literal first kill.
both works but prefer discord
i can use it more easily everwhere i have wifi than steam chat
work wifi blocks steam in its entirety but not discord
also im WAAY more active on discord
I'm not on the discord yet. We can talk in steam chat if that is alright with you. Or maybe I will join the discord sometime soon
hmm...
im thinking...
Are you on the Kenshi Discord by the way? i recently joined
am
Techpriest Antharann #9558
on there
Thanks for the suggestion for the Bonedog Hunter Blade as well. I'd like to point out that some aspects of Kenshi are hardwired into the game, like that weapons and armour can only be crafted out of iron, steel, or one custom material + fabrics. Maybe you'd be able to change fabrics into something else, but a third ingredient is definitely impossible, sadly. Also, per different crafting material you would need a different weapon bench, which in itself is not bad, but with the fact that weapon benches have 3 different grades, you would need to make 3 benches per animal.
Feel free to make to make an addon for this mod though! I'm really interested in seeing what you will cook up :) Please let me know if you need any help with anything and if you have a finished mod.
Am i allowed to try and make an addon mod to this mod? I REALLY love beast made gear and want to expand on it.
Bonedog Hunter Blade (Saber 1h):
2x Steel Plate, 1.5x Bonedog scraps, 6 Animal Fangs.
A one handed single straight edge forged blade that is surprisingly light weight and cuts deep. Its spine is reinforced with parts of a bonedog and its fangs, making this light blade still decent at blocking, the added serration at the blunt side of the blade can be used to rip devastating bleeding wounds.
AKA, a saber class blade that pretends to be somewhat of a bleeder katana that still is decent at blocking.
the general idea i had for Beastforge weapons is that they take steel plates, the animals scraps and whatever they also drop exept meats and hides.
