Icon Fix for Station Tracks

@COCOLOKO Hi, for other mods, I mostly only help fix conflicts between mods that I encounter while working on my own mods, so that players have fewer errors/crashes when combining mods. Changing platform heights is more like adding new features to those mods, so it's best to ask the original modders to do that work.
Note that increasing platforms heights is not quick work. It requires adjusting the 3D platform models so there is no gap under them like they are floating above the ground. It also requires new Lua code to correctly set the height of waiting passengers/cargo on the platform. Not all station mods do this the same way (unfortunately), some are more complex than others.

Hello dear, I have noticed that you have helped in some mods in a wonderful way, I wanted to ask you if you know of any way to raise platforms/platforms to 1150mm for example in "German Stations" or "Kings Cross modular station platforms Modern", I thank you in advance your time for reading this
RadiKyle  [author] 2 Oct, 2024 @ 7:31am
@AngryGoy it says in the description they are on the Catenary tab.

Unfortunately, I now have the problem that when I want to expand stations with tracks, I can't get any more with overhead lines except for a single track type, namely Chinese Mod. How can I solve this problem?
RadiKyle  [author] 4 Sep, 2024 @ 4:20pm
Yeah a screenie would help a ton. And the track mod(s) name so I can test
GySgt~SPARTA~ 4 Sep, 2024 @ 1:22pm
I might have to ask the other modder who does the trax mods im using
GySgt~SPARTA~ 4 Sep, 2024 @ 1:20pm
Leme run the game when i get off work i will take a screenshot

(...Updated description to help.)

@SteelRodent thanks! Yes a sorter would be nice, but tbh even that is still a mess with so many track types (and not all coded consistently). Maybe some future game version will have a better menu browser so we can make and save our own menu categories/filters, in *all* menus 🙏

Ok that Pedestrian Crossing mod "falls thru the cracks" because of how its files are named / tagged. If can't find one in the Catenary tab, it will always be in the Tracks tab. There's likely others like that too.

Yes the non-cat icons for cat tracks is mentioned in the description. It's a side effect of the v1.2 switch from a manually curated list of tracks (unsustainable), to the brute force "fix everything" method. There's no way to detect if correct icons already exist, so regular non-cat icons are used. And that's why I had to create the Catenary tab.
SteelRodent 31 Aug, 2024 @ 5:36am
Thanks for this mod :) Also works for cleaning up the menu slightly when you don't have purple icons ;) Would love if we could get something like the Track Sorter for stations, because the menu is still a mess when you have multiple gauge and tracks mods installed, although it definitely helps splitting it up into catenary and non-catenary tracks.

Just one minor thing, well two really: Your mod doesn't split the tracks from "Pedestrian track crossing modules" - they're all still in "normal" tracks even though half have catenary. And with "Railbed Ballast with Sleepers" the original "with catenary" icons are replaced by the non-catenary versions while the tracks are sorted correctly into catenary and non-catenary versions.

Recently I noticed someone enthusiastically answering questions on the thread, and it turns out it was you.Identified by the icon.Well done!
SAUBER_KH7 13 Aug, 2024 @ 3:19pm
@µBunny No need to hit the brakes like that...
RadiKyle  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 2:01pm
@µBunny I haven't received any similar reports... Can you tell me please specifically what happened? Which mods? There are only 3 mods that are specifically removed from the station tracks menu (see list above). Is it one of those?
µBunny 9 Aug, 2024 @ 3:42am
This didn't fix anything for me, instead of fixing the icons the icons were hidden and I didn't have access to them.
Mod tried... Mod deleted...

RadiKyle  [author] 17 Jul, 2024 @ 10:46am
@takashigqgle yes I added the feature in v1.1 to separate the catenary tracks from the regular tracks, because they have the same icons. Although all the regular tracks were listed first, followed by all the catenary tracks, the icons were confusing. Also the list was very longggg to scroll with a lot of track mods.

Notes and solutions
If you use this MOD, the station will be modified to have tracks without catenaries.
However, as stated in the explanation, if you want to use a catenary, you can use it normally by selecting from the catenary tag. I always chose the catenary track from the railroad tracks, and it seemed strange to me. To be sure, "choose a track from the catenary category"
As you can see in the photo of this mod, when modifying a station, if you want to make a catenary track, selecting the track from the track category doesn't work.
Select the track from the catenary category. Am I the only one who didn't notice this mistake?

fantastic mod my guy
RadiKyle  [author] 14 Jul, 2024 @ 10:25am
@Serio_909 ok thanks for confirming that, I just needed to be sure I didn't break something that was already working haha.
Based on that mod's description, it sounds like it maybe doesn't do things "the usual way", which is the main reason I haven't tried it yet to test it. So it may be a special case that only the original modder can fix.
Serio_909 14 Jul, 2024 @ 10:16am
@RadiKyle Indeed, the track mod have already purple icons without your mod. So i'll contact them for the "fix". thanks for the "advise" (and your promptness).
RadiKyle  [author] 14 Jul, 2024 @ 6:11am
Hi @Serio_909 , does that track mod already have purple icons without my mod loaded? If so please contact them so they can fix their mod.

Mine is mainly just a band-aid fix for track mods not kept up to-to-date. It should work with most track mods but it's not tested with everything out there. Modders still gotta fix their stuff sometime.
Serio_909 14 Jul, 2024 @ 5:33am
Really good job ... but ... it's not working with the "North American Style Tracks" by The MeatBallHeroe.
Lotf4 14 Jul, 2024 @ 3:22am
Thanks
[10K] MoreToClaim 14 Jul, 2024 @ 2:15am
Great Thanks
RadiKyle  [author] 12 Jul, 2024 @ 7:30pm
And most of that is the images, lol. The mod itself is under 4 kB, I could literally paste it into the description 😅
N0neGiv3N 12 Jul, 2024 @ 6:49pm
splendid and under 1MB!
Dzjiee 12 Jul, 2024 @ 1:47pm
Oki, thx!
RadiKyle  [author] 12 Jul, 2024 @ 7:03am
Lol 😂
takashi 12 Jul, 2024 @ 4:49am
I felt the force. It's perfect. Gracie.
takashi 12 Jul, 2024 @ 2:39am
@RadiKyle

I don't understand the technical terminology, so I will use this word
“May the Force be with you.”
“Did what must be done,RadiKyle.” "thank you"
RadiKyle  [author] 11 Jul, 2024 @ 8:32pm
Hey all, I just pushed out v1.2 which uses a brute force method that should "fix" every track mod on the planet (even ones that didn't need it...). This was the best that I could do within the game's restrictions.
RadiKyle  [author] 11 Jul, 2024 @ 6:07pm
@Dzjiee it shouldn't matter, can load in any order.

@abcshadow thanks! Yes it's sad, but life happens. Someday my mods will probably be out-of-date too 😭
Dzjiee 11 Jul, 2024 @ 1:53pm
Hi, thanks! Is the order in which the mods are loaded of any influence? Or, should I put this in front or after track mods?
abcshadow 11 Jul, 2024 @ 10:54am
great mod yeah its bad that mods most of the time not get updated thx
takashi 11 Jul, 2024 @ 2:18am
Thanks
It's okay if you don't force yourself, I appreciate it.
I think it's a blessing just to be able to use MODs.
RadiKyle  [author] 10 Jul, 2024 @ 3:28pm
@takashigqgle I just added two track sets by NS_37 to v1.1, because it seems they haven't updated any mods in 3-4 years 👻 That "fixes" 10 more icons.

Mentioning the broken icons to modders is okay, because sometimes they don't realize there is an issue unless a user mentions it (especially when a game update breaks something). Cheers 😊
RadiKyle  [author] 10 Jul, 2024 @ 8:14am
Note for Modders I've added some info/guide to hopefully help you with fixing station track icons for your mods. Cheers!
takashi 10 Jul, 2024 @ 7:36am
understood. thank you.
My basic idea is that I would be grateful if they would just let me use the mod, so I don't make any demands on the creators.
This MOD created by RadiKyle can also be used to make several improvements, so that's OK.
RadiKyle  [author] 10 Jul, 2024 @ 7:26am
Hi @takashigqgle , thanks for that list. This mod is intended as a temp / band-aid fix only, mainly for track mods that I use that are sadly no longer maintained by their authors. The first solution is always for the original modder to fix their icons, so I recommend that users contact them to request that. (I've updated the mod description in this regard.) If there are special circumstances where the original author is unable to update their mod and there is high demand, then I might consider adding it to the list, if I have time. Thanks, cheers!
