There's a bug on MOVEABLE OBJECT. I guessed that the platform must have to be dropped somehow to block the beam. I tried the red beam first, but when I dropped the platform, it disappeared completely!

sounds exciting
M A  [author] 15 Nov, 2024 @ 8:30am
@153889037 I am getting close to finishing. About 90% done now. Shouldn't be too much longer
153889037 13 Nov, 2024 @ 5:58am
@M A,ready to release?
M A  [author] 16 Oct, 2024 @ 12:06pm
@153889037 I'm still working on it, but I am making slower progress than I expected. I've got through about 65% of making the environments, but it will still be a while until it's ready. Thanks for being so interested in it :steamhappy:
153889037 14 Oct, 2024 @ 5:43am
@M A,how about your next puzzle set?
ovivjan 30 Sep, 2024 @ 1:23am
@Sharpie McSharp Yes, it worked! Switching to DX11 allowed it to run game. Thanks a lot!! :steamhappy:
Sharpie McSharp 29 Sep, 2024 @ 2:42pm
@ovivjan I had a crash issue using DX12 for some reason. Switched down to DX11 fixed it for me.
ovivjan 29 Sep, 2024 @ 10:20am
@M A no, there are no errors, the whole game just freezes on the "loading" message with a spinning wheel. I have to close the game through the task manager. Disabling other mods does not help.
M A  [author] 29 Sep, 2024 @ 9:00am
@ovivjan It freezes when starting it for thr first time? Does it show an error message when it does this? If you go to Extras -> Workshop Packages, and then disable the other mods in there, does it still do it?
ovivjan 29 Sep, 2024 @ 5:32am
I can't play, the game freezes(((
M A  [author] 25 Sep, 2024 @ 4:46pm
@153889037 I'm still slowly and steadily working on it. I've got all the puzzles designed now and am around 35% through making the environments
153889037 25 Sep, 2024 @ 7:06am
@M A, is your next puzzle set coming?
Rough N. Sluff 4 Sep, 2024 @ 10:16pm
Got through all the puzzles but needed to look at your guide for one of the solutions. I was able to totally cheese the star in World C. Thanks for making a nice set of puzzles.
153889037 28 Aug, 2024 @ 7:09pm
sounds exciting. looking forward to it.
M A  [author] 28 Aug, 2024 @ 9:42am
@153889037 Very clever! I think I'll leave this one in as an alternate solution as it still fits with the spirit of the puzzle.

Unrelated, but I started working on a second puzzle set (not using the platform mechanic this time) and I have 11 puzzles designed so far!
153889037 27 Aug, 2024 @ 9:35pm
Hi, M A, me, again. I found another solution to World C – Switcheroo 2, which is easier than yours. Because it doesn't need to block the beams. Check it here, https://youtu.be/3XyHni8OzSo
Albi 11 Aug, 2024 @ 1:02am
Wow, so amazing!!
M A  [author] 26 Jul, 2024 @ 9:43am
@AG I changed the puzzle from 2 pressure plates to 3 but I forgot to update the solution video. It's changed now :steamhappy:
AG 25 Jul, 2024 @ 11:52pm
@M A apologies if this has already been covered, but when I'm going for the star in World C, I have 3 pressure plates to open the gate. After a fair bit of struggling, I had a quick look at the video solution, which shows only 2 pressure plates. BTW, great job with the differing levels of complexity in the puzzles!
M A  [author] 21 Jul, 2024 @ 10:25am
@Reggie Dunlop Glad you enjoyed it! That solution for The Glass Ceiling should not longer be possible. I thought the intended interaction in it was very interesting and I wouldn't want people missing out on it :steamhappy:
I might make a second map if I can come up with some interesting ideas for puzzles
AG 21 Jul, 2024 @ 12:28am
Thanks M A! Found the platform by the recorder now, so was able to complete the puzzle :)
Reggie Dunlop 20 Jul, 2024 @ 10:17pm
Finished this. It was a lot of fun, with a couple that stumped me for a while. There were some intelligent interactions between the player and the recordings that must have took some thought to design. One in particular that I don't recall from the base game or any of the mods. Well done. The difficulty progression was spot on. I hope you make more!

I had a different solution for The Glass Ceiling, it's possible to bypass the first fan altogether by taking the jammer to the (recorded) platform and jamming the topmost sigil wall, then jumping off, leaving the jammer on the platform and going around to the second fan.
M A  [author] 20 Jul, 2024 @ 7:31am
Apparently it's possible for the platform to fall through the floor in that position. I've adjusted the layout slightly and it shouldn't happen anymore
AG 19 Jul, 2024 @ 9:02pm
Maybe it's just me, but I don't have a platform in the last stage of Multi-Stage Problem. I tried for ages to solve it, but ended up looking at the solution and there's a platform on top of the small steps against the wall in the video. This isn't here for me.. Any ideas?
AG 19 Jul, 2024 @ 7:27pm
@M A - I retested Moveable Object and now I don't have time to get into the sigul area before the gate closes. Weird! It's definitely how I solved it the first time :steamhappy:
M A  [author] 19 Jul, 2024 @ 6:47pm
I changed the name of the sigil arrangers in the files. Didn't realise that would break people's saved games. I reverted it back, but anyone who started since that update may have to start a new game. Very sorry about that!
Reggie Dunlop 19 Jul, 2024 @ 5:19pm
I was finishing this up last night and when I went back in today, platform puzzles won't load. I'm getting "cannot open file content/talos/databases/arrangers/sigilarrangerA.rsc"
Could this be from the update?
Sharpie McSharp 19 Jul, 2024 @ 2:18pm
Ok I've switched to DX11 and it's fine.
Sharpie McSharp 19 Jul, 2024 @ 2:14pm
Nothing in console, log file shows this.,

22:10:19 LOG: Stopping world 'Content/Talos/Levels/Menu/Intro.wld'.
22:10:19 LOG: World deleted in 0.00(0.00)sec.
22:10:19 LOG: World stopped in 0.00sec.
22:10:19 LOG: Process memory: 6687 MB
22:10:27 LOG: Starting level: "Content/Talos/Levels/PlatformPuzzles/HubLevel.wld"
22:10:27 LOG: Started loading world "Content/Talos/Levels/PlatformPuzzles/HubLevel.wld"
22:10:27 LOG: xmlLoader: <memory stream> loaded in 0.00 seconds
22:10:27 ERR: Direct3D12: Out of memory! (CreateBufferObject())
...
And mem line is repeated lots of times. Possibly something to do with my system, just wondering if anyone else got it. (I have 32gb ram, 8gb gpu ram so wasn't expecting probs on this old game :-))
M A  [author] 19 Jul, 2024 @ 10:08am
@ma.hirsch Thanks for the help. I've updated that now. @Sharpie McSharp maybe that fixed the error you were getting as well?
PrologicMind 19 Jul, 2024 @ 6:49am
@Sharpie McSharp What is written in the red line of console (F1) ?
Sharpie McSharp 19 Jul, 2024 @ 3:20am
Game crashes for me when trying to start new game. Never had an issue main games, dlcs, or other mods so not sure what's going on yet.
ma.hirsch 18 Jul, 2024 @ 11:00pm
@M A:
Simply delete these three files in the Databases folder:

TalosEpisodeParams.rsc

TetrominoColors.rsc

TetrominoPalette.rsc

This solves the problem with the journal, among other things.

These three files are from the developers and must not be
changed.

If you do something like this,
always save it in your own folder.

Very nice puzzles.
rock-p 17 Jul, 2024 @ 12:05pm
I checked again to be sure, but it still seems to be caused by this map. No matter which map I press the Journal button, nothing happens. I can't press either the keyboard or the controller.
M A  [author] 17 Jul, 2024 @ 11:33am
@rock-p How strange. I can't seem to replicate this issue at all
rock-p 17 Jul, 2024 @ 11:24am
If you subscribe to this map, somehow the Journal will not be seen on any other maps except this one.
M A  [author] 17 Jul, 2024 @ 11:02am
@153889037 Good spot! I didn't think of doing that when I tested it. I've made a pretty simple change to the design of the puzzle that stops it from being that simple
153889037 17 Jul, 2024 @ 8:58am
The box and the switch are useless. Maybe this is against your original design. Can you fix it?
153889037 17 Jul, 2024 @ 8:52am
@M A, Hi, pal. I found a solution that is simpler and easier than yours when getting the star in puzzle 'Switcheroo 2'. Check this and share with me your comment. https://youtu.be/yth6og59_IY
AG 17 Jul, 2024 @ 1:33am
@M A: I'll re-test it.
zeik7 16 Jul, 2024 @ 5:02am
Good content, thanks.

Having a temporal clone moving a connector around using a platform is indeed pretty cool, and I don't remember seeing a lot of that in the original game.

Just a suggestion : simple things like green lasers and new music can really help make everything feel fresh again ;)
M A  [author] 15 Jul, 2024 @ 6:55am
@AG Really? When I test it, I'm not even close to making it through
AG 15 Jul, 2024 @ 12:45am
Also didn't need the platform for Moveable Object. If you stand in the path of the blue beam (instead of using the platform) you have time to run into the sigul area before the gate closes. [\spoiler] Of course, with this method, you need to do an X reset at the end :)
BTW, Ghost Delivery the fave so far!
scavfan 14 Jul, 2024 @ 6:42pm
Nice showcase of what Platform mechanic is capable of! Solutions are clean, the stars don't require you to go on an entire searching quest across the map. Not crazy difficult but quite enjoyable :)
M A  [author] 14 Jul, 2024 @ 10:05am
@AG @153889037 Thanks for letting me know. I've updated the level and it shouldn't (hopefully) be possible anymore :taloslol:
153889037 14 Jul, 2024 @ 9:09am
@M A, Hi, pal. I found a solution to Lighten the Road, which is different from yours. Probably a bug. The jammer can jam the door on the second floor directly. In this way, the sigil can be obtained without using 'platform'
AG 13 Jul, 2024 @ 9:14pm
Ended up not needing the platform in Lighten The Load. Enjoying the puzzles!
