Probably my favorite mutation. Makes the game feel like a real apocalypse. I just wish the Counter Strike weapons dropped, too. Other than that this is great

This is pretty great tbh, especially when combined with some mods from games with low ammo counts, Metro and Resident Evil come to mind

The magnum is supposed to spawn at least, with the same low spawn rate as the M60 and grenade launcher. I never added the CS:S weapons since they were limited to the german version at the time.

Not sure if everyone is having this issue as well. I can't pick up the small ammo packs. I can pick up the green ammo, but not the small ammo packs.

For your own server you can do it by copying the vpk to the servers addons directory. Then it should be posible to launch it like any other mutation.

I kinda wish there was a version of this that had the CSS weapons added to the pool, I like playing with this gamemode and it would solve the problem where CSS weapon unlockers don't work in workshop maps.

Could be. The script controls the logic for the ammo pickups. I can think of at least one way to make it simpler: By spawning a single entity with a control script instead, setting up an entity output to it from the ammo box props, and using an input hook to read the input on the control entity.

I totally removed the ammo can drop from the code as it wasnt working in coop anyway, but still getting crashes. Latest try is changing the self kill timer to 20 on ammo drops. Also, i see this in the console:
_226_singlesimple executing script: gunnuts_ammo_pickup
with the number being the time it was run. Could that script being run over and over cause crashes?

If you set it up for coop, the players won't have the custom models for the ammo pickups from the .vpk, so they might crash unless you can upload it for them.

I will try increasing the weapon nill chance. For 250 zombies nil chance of 9000 sounds about right. Also I have set gun nuts to run for coop (so other players will join up), maybe I did something that would cause a delayed crash?

It might be some issue with the scripting system then. The game seems pretty weird about crashing sometimes. Validating the game cache might also help.

I notice the ammo pickups despawn after 60 seconds so they don't build up. I also reduced ammo drop chance in ammo shortage to 20 from 50 with no effect.

It's possible. Both zombies and ammo pickups count toward the entity limit, which is pretty low in Source. This mutation is balanced for normal sizes hordes, so if you kill a ton of zombies in a short period of time it might spawn too many ammo boxes and crash the game. Playing the ammo shrtage version might help.
