doesnt seem to be working
MrWhite 14 Aug, 2024 @ 6:55am
Don't get it with type II I got the extra sailors but switching to even IID I only got the original numbers, same with the type VIIB. I tried to solve the problem with the instructions above but as it doesn't changed anything I uninstalled the mod

@Headiii
If you don't give me crew numbers I'm just going to assume it's the mod correcting itself, as described in the description.
Headiii 13 Aug, 2024 @ 6:40am
same Bug as MrWhite
MrWhite 11 Aug, 2024 @ 4:55am
Changed my boat and didn't got the additional crewmen anymore :(

Seems to be working now, thank you!
Bucketsmith 7 Aug, 2024 @ 4:11pm
I gotcha!
sq_paradox  [author] 7 Aug, 2024 @ 4:02pm
I got confused on version numbers and pulled 1.2.0 from another mod entirely.
The mod version was at 1.0.8 internally and still at 1.0.7 in the manifest that you see in the launcher, so 1.2.0 was really 1.1.0.
Bucketsmith 7 Aug, 2024 @ 3:50pm
Ah, no worries. Thanks for looking in to it.
I'll give it a go. v1.1.1 though? Wasn't your previous version 1.2.0?
I've also posted a bug report in the discussion area, I'm not entirely sure it's causing the hard CTD.

@Bucketsmith
Sorry, I missed you mentioning Bigger Crew Limit in your first comment.
Version 1.1.1 fixes this issue, rerun ResetSailorLimit and everything should be back to normal.
Please let me know if it's not.

As a side effect this makes Bigger Crew Limit save compatible, if you just run ResetSailorLimit after install and uninstall.
Bucketsmith 7 Aug, 2024 @ 12:42pm
Well, like I mentioned, the base crew is raised to 30 with Bigger Crew. It should then add 4 to that for my 2 bonus officers, so it should be at 34.
I had the double-up bug of your mod's previous version, so I had a max of 38.
But after this fix, it should be 34, not 24.

What I'm saying is that after applying your fix, it seems to completely ignore the Bigger Crew mod being installed with it's new base crew size.
sq_paradox  [author] 7 Aug, 2024 @ 12:34pm
Future versions may offer options customization options, like whether the first 5 officers get ignored or how many crew each officer gets.
sq_paradox  [author] 7 Aug, 2024 @ 12:29pm
@Bucketsmith
That's to correct number:
7 officers - 5 starting officers = 2 officers with 2 crew each = 4 crew + 20 starting crew = 24 crew

If you want a higher limit use another mod that increase the crew limit or officer limit. This won't conflict with other mods.
Bucketsmith 7 Aug, 2024 @ 10:23am
After doing the reset, I'm stuck with vanilla numbers.
Even finishing my mission didn't seem to reset it back to the correct number.
I'm also running Bigger Crew. I was at 7 officers and 38 max crew, I was running with 34.
Now I only get 24 max and it is telling me I need to put crew on the ground at the docks.
How do I fix?
sq_paradox  [author] 6 Aug, 2024 @ 3:47pm
If you choose not to reset crew count and keep the higher limit it will probably eventually reset on it's own, like when you change ships.
sq_paradox  [author] 6 Aug, 2024 @ 3:44pm
If you were using this mod prior to version 1.2.0, you will probably need to reset your crew limit as detailed above.
Changes in the way the 1.2.0 and up function means the effect will "double up" and you will have a higher crew limit if you don't do the reset.

No resets should be required in the future.
This change also allows for compatibility with virtually any other mod that modifies crew or officer limits.

@Gutted
The mod doesn't properly account for the Type II, since it was written when the type VIIC was the only option.
I'm working on updates.

Sorry for the post spam, just trying to help you track down the issue

To add to my previous comment, i went to check my logfile just now after exiting. And saw this at the bottom (from when i exited). No idea why that would be there.

[OfficerCrew] Updated Sailor limit from 20 to 30
Gutted 6 Aug, 2024 @ 12:50pm
Upon starting a brand new Type II campaign. The crew screen showed 18 instead of 14 max crew. The debug/console shows the mod increased my crew size from 14 to 18. I never bought an officer upgrade. Is this intended? A 4 crew bump in starting size is not mentioned in the mod description.

Also it's probably nothing, but:
Using cheat command to give me Rep points. I bought 1 officer upgrade and my crew size was increased by 2 as intended, but the debug console showed 2 commands:
crew size increased from 18 to 18.
crew size increased from 18 to 20.

@Franz46
Can you send me that save (sqparadox on Discord) or just upload it somewhere and drop a link.
It's getting set to 30 and but then something causes it to immediately set be set to 22.
Without a save where this is happening it's very hard to know why.
Franz46 5 Aug, 2024 @ 11:43pm
Nothing fixed it, still remains at 22 after reload.
Here is the log files: https://pastebin.com/Md01uTZz
sq_paradox  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 5:16pm
Crew capacity should update when changing uboats now.

@Franz46
Something else is going on if loading a save doesn't fix it.
Crew capacity is recalculated every time you load a save. So I need to see log files.
sq_paradox  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 10:12am
@Franz46
Loading a saved game should fix it.
Can you look in you output_log.ext for errors and/or a line something like this:
22:16:34.45 [OfficerCrew] Update Sailor limit: 30
Franz46 5 Aug, 2024 @ 7:35am
Thank you, take your time. Maybe it helps: I dont use the expanded crew mod and I had 34 Crew Members with 2 additional Officers at VIIB. When I upgrade to VIIC i get 20 Crew members with 2 additional Officers. When I reload as suggested I get 22 crew members.
sq_paradox  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 6:58am
I'll investigate when I get a chance. Hopefully this week, but maybe not until the weekend.
Franz46 5 Aug, 2024 @ 6:43am
Yes I have, 7 Officers Active and 22 Crew Members when I update to VIIC instead of 34
Si Cwan 5 Aug, 2024 @ 6:30am
do you have the officer favors unlocked at the guy by the car?
Franz46 5 Aug, 2024 @ 4:47am
For me it doesn't work after reloading, just 22 crew member limit at viic
Si Cwan 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:42pm
On, Never mind, a save and reload of the game fixed it.. So if you're like me and upgrade your boat and it stops working, save, and reload.
Si Cwan 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:41pm
This worked fine on the VIIB boat, but the VIIC one it defaults back to 20 something, I'm using [2024.1] More Officers on Board mod and like I said, it worked before i upgraded my boat to the VIIC
