I like how people forget if you've been constantly fighting for several minutes straight, you'd be too exhausted to even run away, even worser when in scorching heat in most of these maps its a death sentence either way. also, when the other army sees the opposite army running away, they will get a second wind cause they realize they're winning and will chase down the other army to cut them down like the cowards and deserters they are.

I mean its not like the mod grants 100% historical accuracy, its just made to make routing units vulnerable

zero melee defense is realistic its just the slower part but at the same time who the hell said we had to be pin point historically accurate here

ok whatever theres no point to making that mod. and units tend to have a hard time keeping up with even slightly slower units when chasing them anyways.

agree with killwonder on the speed bonus. If you fear for your life, you will be naturally faster and resilient, but much more exposed to horses and archers.

It's only when an army has cavalry to give chase and run them down. With an infantry only army that's not possible.

and yet historically when armies rout is when they take the most casualties, even from infantry

Because it makes more sense to me. When soldiers flee the would drop there weapons and run for there life's. So this way you need cavalry more for that.

or at the very least its very noticeable in wh3, and i noticed it in the "non dynasties" version of this game, and in older titles like rome 2

the thing is, if you pay attention when your troops chase enemies they tend to slow down too, so this just gives you more time to run them down

any chance for a version that is only 0% melee def? I don't see why people would slow down when running in fear lol.

Kinda cringe when a big militia unit routes and it takes me forever to run them down with cavalry. Thanks for the mod!
