"Cripple testing" - LOL. Took me a while to figure this out (but it felt good when I finally did). Would break my legs to do it again!

I suppose a point_laser_target didn't work with aiming the laser at the relays? Since it did take several attempts for me to finally get it to aim directly at either one of them.

Otherwise a pretty awesome map!

how did you manage that with the amount of softlock buttons
Kian Matthey Fox 5 May @ 6:28am
bro i got softlocked :steamsad:

Pretty fascinating concept. Pre-aiming some of the laser cubes in my solution felt a bit iffy but the puzzle was quite clever. I think more can be done with this idea!

this was very interesting and fun! i enjoyed the concept and how you used null portals.
9.9/10

fix keybind
Nobody No-One 28 Dec, 2024 @ 12:10pm
Neat map! I'd be interested to see more puzzles with this concept, though I have my timescale keybinds set to automatically disable laser collision as well, so it was a bit annoying not to be able to run around the room at 6x speed.

mom please

this level is not very good (i am masalt mother)
s36e175 15 Aug, 2024 @ 2:09am
that's a cool innovation
masaltzero  [author] 13 Aug, 2024 @ 11:42am
yeah, war!
Libbybapa 12 Aug, 2024 @ 8:59am
Life preserver signage should only be placed on items that do not ever need to be used throughout the intended solution. In the first room, the pedestal button must be used to drop the cube so life preserver signage is misleading and should not be used there.
Nuclear Shill  [author] 11 Aug, 2024 @ 5:20pm
I put that signage there because it temporarily disables the laser as a method of anti-trapping.
Libbybapa 11 Aug, 2024 @ 9:00am
You should not have life preserver signage on the first pedestal button. It is misleading for that button and makes that sign there and elsewhere nonsensical.
SunnyOst 10 Aug, 2024 @ 8:52am
Very cool idea!
NicolasDreams 7 Aug, 2024 @ 3:20am
Nice simple map!
btw, you can hide the sv_cheats message at the beginning by running the console command "hud_saytext_time 0".
masaltzero  [author] 6 Aug, 2024 @ 10:22pm
thank you nerdling

Ah, I see.

How do I access the sound folder in hammer :sob:
Nuclear Shill  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 12:23pm
it's just a custom .wav file placed in the sound folder with an Ambient Generic playing the audio
paygosniper 5 Aug, 2024 @ 12:15pm
I love the custom voicelines! How did you plop them into hammer??
masaltzero  [author] 2 Aug, 2024 @ 2:51pm
you are literally nodraw stop talking
KAP218 2 Aug, 2024 @ 2:42pm
hmmmm, this map looks like it was pulled from a Divinity:p2aperture:
E L Y T R O N 1 Aug, 2024 @ 9:49pm
worked perfectly for me! What a hilarious way to introduce the "no jump" mechanic. And it is infuriating in a funny way. I like the puzzle aspect, seems appropriately explored. I guess we can thank Dido for that. Great job guys! :steamhappy:

My back feels better now.
Carthage 31 Jul, 2024 @ 10:29am
Amazing map. Love the voice acting and dark sarcasm.

Like so many have said, The laser angles are a massive pita. Having to redo the whole thing if you mess up the last cube really sucks.

Overall

laser collison my beloved
Nuclear Shill  [author] 30 Jul, 2024 @ 9:03pm
Music looping fixed. Sadly could not find a way to make the relay hitbox larger.
EndOfPortal 30 Jul, 2024 @ 3:21pm
Something different.
yukidae 30 Jul, 2024 @ 12:22pm
very cool concept! but in the last part if you fail to put the laser correctly before crossing it to go to the exit you end up needing to do everything again
Unknown 30 Jul, 2024 @ 11:22am
GREAT MAP! however... masalt...
Rooke 30 Jul, 2024 @ 11:02am
Great map work - check!

i will never fix my mic
Mr.Unreliable 29 Jul, 2024 @ 8:47pm
pretty neat, second test was pretty decent but as everyone has said before, wtf are those long derailing angles, unfortunately I don't see an easy fix additionally the music cuts out after some time and never repeats, not to go on a long rant, but I think some more portal like up and down sound or other dystopian type thing could help, lastly, masalt please turn down your mic volume, and maybe use a robotic affect, they do exsist, anyway, decent stuff, interesting concept, and a decent execution, well done you two :).
Mattchew 29 Jul, 2024 @ 8:28pm
Haha, never thought of using laser collision to enforce solutions like this. Although I recommended disabling crouch, as you can go under the laser and may cause skips. Funny!
Hovering Harry 29 Jul, 2024 @ 8:17pm
I hate the laser line up, and definitely no bhop exploits
Crazy Owl 29 Jul, 2024 @ 7:57pm
Played the map, cool concept, but angles fucking suuuck

good puzzles.
mostlydaniel 29 Jul, 2024 @ 7:20pm
I wasn't expecting such a clever puzzle from what I thought was just a silly joke map at first. I also quite like the visuals, especially the second chamber.
Nuclear Shill  [author] 29 Jul, 2024 @ 7:15pm
I agree
masaltzero  [author] 29 Jul, 2024 @ 7:15pm
this map sucks
