It looks perfect. I'm waiting for the full release.

Hopefully this can be converted to the Imperator vanilla timeline just like Bronze Age

Hey there, thanks so much for creating this. It's amazing someone has vowed to go and do this. I can't wait to play. One thing I would say though is that Sicily is necessary to any comprehensive replay of the Peloponnesian War!
Bubba 2 Apr @ 11:38am
adding Sicily to the map would be cool

I wish you keep updating it, there is great potential

by 431BC, macedon should've been in a civil war, Phillip owned land in the Axios valley and was supported by Derdas, the king of Elimiotis

Oh gosh, I always wanted to play squabbling city states

@kuroi kenshi I love that some folks at Paradox continue to see the potential in this game's modding community and are making a genuine effort to support them! Having reviewed the patch notes, I believe Hegemony should be completely compatible with 2.0.5, though it does not currently require it. Whether or not I implement some of the new code made available to modders through 2.0.5 into Hegemony later remains to be seen.

What's your thoughts about upcoming 2.0.5 patch beta? How it could affect mod in your opinion?
Misadventurer  [author] 3 Dec, 2024 @ 3:44am
2) I wanted Hegemony to stand out for it's focus on detail and depth in a smaller area, and to accurately and interestingly depict the sheer complexity of classical Greek geopolitics with all the city-states. I knew this would require a LOT of playable countries, and the older version of Bronze Age with the smaller map literally didn't have enough country tags coded in to accomplish this. In the current version of Hegemony, for example, there are 393 country tags coded into the mod, while the Bronze Age Reborn mod only had 259 country tags in the entire Greece and Aegean area of the map (older versions probably had fewer then that). I've cleared the rest of the map of tags, but I've actually been saving all the tags in an archive and then recycling their code to 'create' additional playable countries in my updates.

@E First, that's an exquisite thumbnail/name combination. Second, that's a great point. I did give that some thought when starting pre-production about a year ago, but I ultimately decided to use the (at that time) current version of Bronze Age Reborn as my starting point for a few reasons.

1) Based on my past experience making campaigns for YouTube featuring Bronze Age Reborn, I found the mod to be a little glitchier and technically unstable compared to less ambitious overhauls (understandably so! A custom map is actually really technically complicated to implement correctly). I figured the most recent version of the mod, as opposed to the 'pre-Reborn' original version, would have the benefit of years of technical improvements and stability patches.
E 2 Dec, 2024 @ 11:29pm
The oldest versions of the Bronze Age mod had just the Greece + Aegean area on which it was centered (the other parts of the map like Levant, Egypt, Mesopotamia were added much later, and Anatolia proper only came with CK3). Which IIRC looks perfect for this mod in its current state.

If you can somehow get that old version of the original mod, you might not need to open up and populate the numerous non-Greek empty provinces and parts of the map at all (until you're comfortable with adding new map parts later on). :)

thank you

This mod is really progressing along nicely, thank you for the fine work! Looking forward to crushing the Spartan and Athenian fools with my Macedonian forces :)

does thebes have unique content?
Misadventurer  [author] 13 Oct, 2024 @ 1:30pm
@Scipio No doubt about it, Sicily was a pivotal front of the war and the expedition was such a disaster for Athens that they never recovered the advantage and spent the second half of the war enduring oligarchic coups, economic turmoil, and the collapse of their empire. That being said, I'm a long was away from being able to actually create new geography for the map Hegemony is using, and once I teach myself those skills, it'll still be technically complicated to expand the map to add the island and all the ocean between. It's probably possible, but for now, I plan to represent the Sicilian expedition indirectly through events and missions.
Misadventurer  [author] 13 Oct, 2024 @ 1:23pm
@Rizzlord Skibidi von Edgingoon no, it is not compatible with Invictus, or any other Overhaul or Total Conversion mod.
Jim Boatley 12 Oct, 2024 @ 11:51am
Is this mod compatible with invictus?
Scipio 10 Oct, 2024 @ 6:51pm
Can you please consider adding Sicily? Syracuse played a decisive part in the war by ending the Athenian expedition with Spartan military leadership yet they are always neglected when it comes to the Peloponnesian War :steamsad:
Copperhead 6 Oct, 2024 @ 5:57am
hey I was just wondering for things such as events and flavor are you looking at other people to help with it? I'm not good with coding but I am an aspiring author and was wondering if you maybe needed a writer for some event etc.
Misadventurer  [author] 29 Sep, 2024 @ 11:00am
@kuroi kenshi Yes, I'm wrapping up the last few minor patches to the Alpha now. I expect the Beta to begin with 0.8 within the next month or two.
don't worry be happy 28 Sep, 2024 @ 10:13am
approximately, when do you plan release Beta? At least in this year?
Alex 1414 24 Sep, 2024 @ 8:12am
Hi! are you planning to add more languages in the future? Thank you.
Misadventurer  [author] 23 Sep, 2024 @ 7:45am
@AXIS yes, I plan to have many events that can occur reference spiritual anxieties held by your people. For example, playing as a democracy or oligarchy, the Theocratic faction will reference the will of the gods when arguing for their political goals, and as Cult Influence rises in your polis the cults will have more and more events where they try to shift your priorities to what they care about.
[Army of Two] AXIS 23 Sep, 2024 @ 2:26am
Will the gods play a bigger role, with who they favor and such?
By this I mean what people believe, not that the gods actually physically exists to do wonders and such but the belief that for example Poseidon is punishing a polity because of X so Y is happening. For example morale drop in navies, desertion etc?
don't worry be happy 22 Sep, 2024 @ 9:30am
What do you plan to release in Beta phase?
Misadventurer  [author] 21 Sep, 2024 @ 3:53pm
@ecajnafg Thank you! 0.7 is live now - I hope you have fun with it!
ecajnafg 21 Sep, 2024 @ 3:43pm

@leandros2003 Thank you! That means a lot to me!
leandros2003 17 Sep, 2024 @ 1:35am
@Misadventurer That is great, looking forward to it! Also I have to mention that since I am greek and a history student as well, the level historical accuracy and immersion of the mod honestly amazed me. Have a good day
Red Moff 14 Sep, 2024 @ 4:17am
Looking forward to it
Misadventurer  [author] 14 Sep, 2024 @ 2:43am
@leandros2003 Thank you! Patch v.0.7 is absolutely massive, involving two entire tech trees and massive reworks to politics and diplomacy. It will be coming by the end of September for sure - it's the last major patch of the Alpha phase of Hegemony's development. Afterwards I'll be moving on to the Beta phase.
leandros2003 13 Sep, 2024 @ 7:36am
Awesome mod, waiting for an update, it is kinda weird the current religion mechanic and the fact that you cannot grant autonomy to your states, other than that it is a solid 10/10
sselwal 11 Sep, 2024 @ 7:54pm
Awesome stuff. Would you consider doing a submod that removes land bridges? I love that Athenian navy. I just want an excuse to use it more. Also are you able to add the actual or granular populations of the cities and factions as in the reanimata mod?
Andy's Take 10 Sep, 2024 @ 2:26pm
This sounds great. Are you going to remove Egypt and the East from the map, or will nations be included in the currently uninhabited locations?
Revan117 10 Sep, 2024 @ 8:05am
Awesome mod, looking forward to the traditions being fleshed out, I wanna play as Macedonia, rise up and crush both Athens and Sparta :)
don't worry be happy 8 Sep, 2024 @ 5:24am
When will be the next map update?
Duno 5 Sep, 2024 @ 1:46am
I literally just came onto here to look for a mod that let me play classical Athens, and your mod was literally the first that came up. Thank you! :D
Declava 1 Sep, 2024 @ 10:21pm
looks like a great mod, unfortunate that it crashes on new game screen. v0.6.1, no other mods enabled

Looks very nice. This is one of my favourite historical era's so i'm looking forward to it and i'm following your youtube dev vids closely.
Is the 'Official Hegemony Discord' still up to date? It keeps saying it's invalid.

Impressive, very nice
Misadventurer  [author] 26 Aug, 2024 @ 12:14pm
@E Sure thing! I hope you like the mod!
E 26 Aug, 2024 @ 7:53am
So I guess this only includes the Aegean right now, which is perfectly fine TBH, in fact that's the only place I really wanted to play in for a Peloponnesian War setting. (future expansion adding the areas of Byzantium and Bithynia nearby might be nice some day later, since they were also a part of this 'core' Greek world and took part in the war)

Thanks for the answer, I'll start a campaign with this after I finish watching some of your YT videos.
